Sooo Coco Pazzo was a beautiful upscale, low lit dinner spot with a really tasteful vibe. There was a bit of a hiccup with our first server, as we didn't get much attention, but once I mentioned it to the manager, they handled it right away and switched our server with care. I always enjoy an open kitchen, and it was nice being able to peek in on the cooking. The pasta was so flavorful and definitely a highlight. I also loved that they offer tableside fish deboning, it's such a fun touch to watch. Overall, I'd recommend this as a great Italian spot for a nice dinner out.

This place was so delicious we went Thursday and Saturday. Watching the chef direct his crew was like watching ballet. It was so cute when he was squeezing past a cook he threw him a kiss. That restaurant ran like a well oiled machine. The huge wood post with curtains draped through the restaurant was unique. Each table felt cozy. But really everything we ate was delicious and flavorful. We were only in Chicago for four nights and we ate there twice

Been awhile since I've dined here. With Bavettes slammed, opted for Italian. Ate at the bar. The restaurant was busy with marathoners filling up on pasta, the place was buzzing. Decent service at the bar, even though our server/bartender seemed like he'd prefer to be elsewhere. On to the food. Salad was delicious. Entree of veal saltimbucco was outstanding. Tender, delicious, with polenta that had such a subtle texture and flavor. Overall, a solid dining experience.

For high end dining, you definitely get what you pay for here. The Rigatoni Alla Buttera was divine! Exceptional drinks and attentive service. Peroni was ice cold and the espresso was just as it should be. Carpaccio appetizer was delicious. And service was fantastic. Overall a great experience. Atmosphere is kind of uptight so 4 stars on that because I love a place that knows what they are without overdoing it. Would absolutely visit again, sit at the bar and try a pizza from their wood fired oven.

Ask for this gentleman if u get the branzino. He wheeled out the cart and filleted with precision!

This restaurant could be great, but it just appeared to be understaffed on the restaurant floor this Saturday night. Our poor waiter was running around like a chicken with his head cut off. Once we ordered he became scarce as his # of tables increased. We couldn't tell exactly but he had at least 12 tables some with pretty large parties. Anyway onto to food critique. Food: The restaurant delivers a small spinach and cheese between flatbread delighter upon seating , not a lot of flavor on this. Also received some focaccia bread and bread sticks with some olive oil for dipping. Would have been better if they had added a little salt and pepper to the oil or ideally some balsamic vinegar. We started with the special duck ragu with a pappardelle style pasta. This was delicious!!! Would have been great with some Parmesan but we couldn't make eye contact to flag anyone down, by the time one of the waitstaff noticed we hadn't gotten the parm we were 3/4 of the way through the course. We also ordered the Branzino. Very excited as many reviews had raved and we saw a couple other parties have this filleted table side while we were there. Unlike the others we saw, ours was delivered on the cart but sat there getting cold until another female waiter from the section next to us noticed and came over and started the filleting process. Unfortunately it seemed her 1st time as there was quite a few bones left behind and a fair amount of the fish was left on the original serving platter and never made it to our plates. It also took her awhile. So basically it was relatively cold by the time it made it to our table. Also would have benefitted from a little bit of salt and pepper with the lemon that was provided but again we could not flag anyone down to provide this. There was also a fairly long wait between our 1st and 2nd courses of 32 minutes. I'm not one to complain especially when you see someone struggling as our waiter was this evening, however with tip this is a $162 meal. It should be properly and timely served, right? If you are dining here I would suggest sitting at the bar. It seemed that those diners were getting consistent service and timely delivery of food. Also perhaps come early before the dining room fills up and they are under duress. And ask for pepper and salt at the beginning so that if needed it will be there for u. Maybe Parmesan as well. Ambiance of restaurant is lovely and has a good vibe and feel.

This establishment has a very old-fashioned/rustic esthetic, and I quite enjoyed it. The service was nice and it didn't take long for them to take our order. There are two complementary dishes, a bread and olive oil plate and a spinach and cheese baked dish. Each was created very well, but the spinach dish didn't have as much flavor as I would have liked, but it was a nice addition. We got the beet salad to share, so they split it into two plates, which was nice. It was refreshing, and the mixture of dressing, fruit, cheese, and salad was pretty good. The truffle fries were next, and they were probably the best version of this dish I have ever had. It seems they fried the potatoes with rosemary stems and shallots, which added a delicious flavor blend. Finally, the bolognese was my main dish. It was simplistic but fresh and had a very tomato heavy flavor profile. It was good, but I wish it had a little more intricacy to its flavor. I would probably try another dish next time. Overall, I recommend this Italian restaurant for some delicious food and great service. There seems to be a lot of potentially great menu items to check out.

Great food, service, and ambience. Obviously very popular. Loved the carciofini salad and the Arrabiata pasta with eggplant- never had that before and loved it. And unlike so many places, the Arrabiata here was actually pretty zingy--which is what I'm looking for! Had a very sweet waitress who took great care of my friend and I. I'd definitely go again!

The restaurant is celebrating its 30th year. With my partner, a long time ago, had memorable meals at Coco on a number of occasions . Partner was otherwise engaged, so after the One-Of-A-Kind show, this time it was daughter and me giving it a go. How was it? Basically, it was all great: service, soup, appetizer, pizza, and pasta. The soup was lentil with prosciutto - small lentils mixed with bits of prosciutto - a slight added ingredient that delighted. The appetizer was a combination of several bean varieties; mixed with a light dressing - lively on what was a cold day. One test of a restaurant is their pizza. We went with Pizza Diavola which featured spicy sausage. Neapolitan in style, the sausage was perfect with its rich tomato sauce. Rigatoni alla Buttera featured fennel sausage. Another artful creation. All of this was perfectly timed by the waitstaff. One had the feeling they were determined to present an extraordinary enjoyable meal. And they did. PS - to start, a small compliment of an appetizer came - great too, nice gesture. And the bread along with breadsticks was, surprise, also great as well.

Food was excellent and was not overly priced. Service was very friendly and attentive.

The ambiance is nice with the restaurant not too dark but still has moody lighting. The entire time we sat down there was a huge group of people waiting for a table, so definitely make a reservation! For apps we got garlic bread and Caesar salad. The garlic bread was a rec from our server, which did not disappoint. They brought out melted butter to pour over the bread. Caesar salad was interesting, it has chopped celery inside which I didn't realize until I started eating. I don't like celery but my sis does and she liked it in the salad. Pappardelle alla porcellino and chicken vesuvio were AMAZING. Pasta was fresh and the chicken was so decadent. Both mocktails I were delish. The tiramisu was SO GOOD. The bar was full when we arrived, but the host told us that spots at the bar open up rather quickly. This proved to be true, so I am so glad we waited for a few minutes. However, I wouldn't recommend this happy hour for a group of more than 2 because offerings are available at the bar only, and I suspect it would be hard to get four seats together.

Tre Dita was recommended by a local but I had no idea until after the fact that this was EVAN FUNKE's restaurant! *Screams internally* We made reservations in the bar area and 10/10 would recommend it over the formal dining area. It feels alive and thriving with conversation and smooth music. Feels like those places you see main characters eat at in movies. Our server was so explanatory with every question we had and you could tell he really knew his shit. All the Italian names can make you feel a little dumb but our server was schooling us and teaching us how to say them correctly in a kind manner. Food...... Fried Squash blossoms are cool to order just to say you tried them. I wasn't like whoaaaaa impressed. But you know what DID have me impressed? That BRUSCHETTA. Omg. Blanching the tomatoes and marinating them?! I wasn't skeptical when it came out but after that first bite I felt like Remy in Ratatouille. The flavor was so simple and so insane. The focaccia was so soft it melted in your mouth but the bruschetta def the NEED TO ORDER app. We also had the panzanella which you can't go wrong. He also serves this at Funke and we get it every time. The pasta...there's nothing to say. It was fresh, flavorful, filling, vibrant! We had 4 different dishes and shared. The limon linguine was my absolute favorite, then rigatoncini, then strozzapreti oxtail, then pappardelle ragu. All rating above 8.5 but the limon is a solid 10. I'm not a big sweets person so I feel like my opinion about the desserts are invalid lol. I heard they were great! I also had the where Hugo I will follow and it is now my favorite spritz. I've shown this to bartenders to try and get this rendition of a Hugo spritz plenty of times. Overall. 10/10 experience. Expensive but absolutely worth it if you're truly a foodie.

We started with both types of foccicia bread which was like eating a pillow. Just absolutely lovely. I do think I preferred the Bianca to the pomordoro, but both were excellent. We then moved onto the meatballs. These are breaded, possibly fried?, brisket meat that is an unreal experience. Then we had our mains. We ordered the filet which I was apprehensive about. I am here for the pasta and didnt want to get weighed down. This was possibly the best steak I had ever had. EVER. Like anywhere. Simply indescribable. Buttery, smokey, fatty, and cooked perfectly. The pastas were also special. Now the best pasta we had was cacio e pepe. Which sounds crazy because it's such a basic dish... but this is the cacio e pepe to end cacio e pepes. Thick bucatini noodles, creamy sauce and just a perfect al dente texture. What they do to this is just pure technique perfected. The next pasta we had was the tortellini. Peas and mint make a flavor explosion. The pasta itself is not the star, but the mint pea filling I could drink. This is a must order. We also had the gnudi. This was good. It was nothing too special but a nice dish nevertheless. The next dish was a Strozzaperetti in an oxtail ragou which was excellent. The oxtail was perfectly fatty and rich to complement the melt in your mouth dish. Finally we had the arbiatta which I tried and was a good dish but too spicy for me. It's spiced with Calabrian chilles and it is a step up from a basic spicy rigatoni. Finally we ended with the Tre Dita Gato which was a devils food cake with chocolate chocolate and more chocolate. No complaints. Just excellent. Overall the night was lovely and our server was perfect.

It's such a cute space walking in and being greeted by all the staff. Hubby said it was like a scene in A Christmas Story with all the lights and decor. Soo beautiful . We were immediately taken to our seats in the back. It's not a big place but very intimate. They have a young serving staff and our waitress talked like she was on Scandal, soo fast we couldn't keep up but she was friendly. We started with pizza bread and mussels diavolo. Both were very good and set our hopes up high for the main course. I have to say, those mussels in that sauce was the best I've ever had and was absolutely blown away. I kept talking about how good they were in each bite. Because of this I was excited about the lasagna I ordered that brought us in and hubby ordered the spaghetti without meat. We'll we were slightly disappointed in our main meals based off the flavor of our appetizers. Both tasted like they were missing something and my lasagna was a bit salty. They were not bad just missing something . We skipped dessert but I will try on my next visit. Because of my mussels, I'm excited to try other fish dishes and see how their chicken options are. I will definitely be back just not for pasta.

This was my fourth time at Monteverde and out of those visits, two were just for the tiramisu lol. Although this time I came mostly because I wanted their wagyu skewer and pesto pasta again because they were so delicious the last time. We came on a Thursday evening around 5:45 and we sat at the available bar seats. The only downside is it was the bar seats at the end which had no space to put my legs so I had to eat facing side ways. But I guess we got lucky because everyone who arrived after us had to be put on a waiting list for the bar. We've never had an issue getting a seat at the bar or waiting for a table. It gets crowded but service is incredibly quick so I wouldn't worry about the wait times. To start, we ordered the wagyu beef skewer and mozzarella shooters. The skewer is so tender and the flavors are perfect. We also were curious about the mozzarella shooters and ordered two because we thought they'd be small (we were wrong--they are much bigger than you'd expect lol). Personally, I didn't like it because I couldn't get past the thick texture of the liquid, but my boyfriend liked it and ate both. For pasta (which you can watch being handmade in the mirror if you sit at the bar!), I ordered the gnocchetti con pesto. I love how refreshing and light it is. It's the perfect dish to eat on a hot summer day. For a side, we chose the crispy yukon cold potatoes and they were definitely crispy!! And of course the tiramisu for dessert. You just can't leave without getting the tiramisu.
