I've never written a review before because I've never felt the need to and I would never want to be a Karen but I am so disappointed with Coco Nails. The first time I went in, the nail tech Jimmy (who also happens to be the owner) did an absolutely stellar job on my nails, so much so that I wanted to become a regular at this place (first photo) The environment is clean and he seemed so friendly. The following time I went in I chose a burnt orange color that I guess had not been used in a while. I had called the day before for my appointment, a full set and a fill, but when I came in, they seemed very rushed. I found out later it was because they had offered the people before me pedicures a half hour after my appointment, not enough time for mine and my friends nails to be done. Because of this, the work was sloppy. My coffin nails were not shaped well, they began peeling on the way home, and my friends nails were lifting the next day (second and third photo). I called Jimmy and he offered for me to come back, saying it was my fault because I didn't put my nails into the machine to dry correctly. He redid the work, and the next day they were peeling again. I assume it is because the polish wasn't used in a while, because I have had acrylics many times before and have never had this issue. I went on a vacation the next day for a week and by the time I came back my nails were wrecked (fourth photo). I didn't want to come back but I wanted them to see the wreckage of my nails. I got a new fill and it was done nicely (last photo). I decided that it had just been a miscommunication and it would be fine. Friday (10/29), I called for an appointment at 4 for a new full set and a pedicure on Monday (11/1). The lady on the phone told me 4 would not work, and to instead come at 4:15. When I came in at 4:15 Jimmy acted as though we had never met, and told me I was late for my 4pm appointment for a pedicure. Confused, I told him that it was at 4:15 as a full set AND a pedicure, and I explained the phone call confirming it was at 4:15. VERY annoyed, Jimmy rolled his eyes and said "Fine. You will need to wait at least 10 minutes and I guess I will have to do your nails first. Go wash your hands." I went to wash my hands and realized this was not worth the risk of the nails coming out yucky again. I have a wedding this weekend and it was not worth it. I politely told them "I think I'm going to go somewhere else, but thank you anyway!" To which Jimmy waved his hand without looking up and said "Sorry." I hear they are under new management, but I am really upset with how "new" management handled the situation. I have brought my mom and friends to this place, but because of this back and forth and unreasonably rude customer service, I will not be coming back. :( I wish them luck in the future. read more

My daughter and I came in for fills and color. The top pic is what my daughter asked for, the bottom pic is what she actually got. You can clearly see the first pic has some sort of tan color underneath the pink , so that you can't see the natural nails underneath. I've recently relocated to AZ from CA. I've had a chance to visit many nail shops throughout different areas. My experiences have been quite favorable overall. I normally do NOT write reviews unless the service was outstanding or like in this case offensive/unpleasant. Unfortunately, my first visit here to Coco nail salon yesterday (02/02/19) was uncomfortable enough for me to warn other yelpers. First impressions are without a doubt very important. Here are a few positive facts regarding my visit for my spa pedicure. * The gal at the front desk who said her name is Julie was very inviting, she greeted me, and guided me to the correct seating area. * The nail shop is very clean and well kept. * The location of the shop is easy to see. *Vast selection of nail polish. Here are the cons to my personal experience there: *Misleading ambience. The only male that I saw sitting at the 1st station to the right as you enter into the nail shop was very rude. He made no eye contact while speaking to me at all. * Once my manucurist was done, she left me sitting on the spa chair so my polish could dry as she started to work on another customer. The male came over shortly after that and without warning lifted my ankle aggressively to place my sandals on. *I felt rushed and mistreated without reason. He then said ready to pay now. The price of the spa was $25 and I handed him $40 even. He gave me my change $15 (a ten dollar bill and a five dollar bill) I asked that he give me singles for the five dollar bill at which time he shouted something in their language across the room and my manucurist began to laugh and giggle with the other ladies who work there. They all continued talking loudly in their language looking my way and my manucurist whose name I did not catch continued to laugh and talk to the male as they shared giggles from across the room. * Even after that, I walked over to my manucurist who was working with another customer and tipped her $4 as I still wanted to be fair and she grabbed the money giving me a look of dislike. * The irony is that I originally planned on tipping her $7 for her service, I had a five dollar bill on me from before and asked for change to the five the male gave me for that reason. However, once I heard and felt the kaos being made over my request to have the five dollar bill in singles, I decided to bring it down to less. It came across very distasteful and humilating that a customer could be treated so poorly. There were other customers there as this took place and whether their experience was at all like mine or different, my hope is that yelpers can see this and take caution. read more

First time visiting and it was great . I called in to see if I had to set an appointment that which I didn't but sunny made sure to set a specific time aside for me. Sunny did a great job with my coffin shape where I've had troubles getting the right shape elsewhere. I was so undecided with doing a gel color or powder and he was so patient. The pedicure he did also he did was great and took care of me very well. I'll definitely be coming back and found me a new nail home. Also the prices are very reasonable. read more

Had an excellent experience at Coco's Nails! I called ahead to make sure they took walk ins which they do but it is recommended to make an appointment to avoid long wait times. Since I called right when they opened, I was able to be seated right away. They did a fantastic job cleaning up my nails and painted them nice and evenly. This salon is also reasonably priced. I had a wonderful conversation with the owner and truly enjoyed my visit. I highly recommend this place and will return again myself. read more

Stopped coming because it was too far for me at one point, came and made an appointment for dip nails with tips, but I changed my mind & when I went in, he humiliated me in front of customers & said it wasn't possible/ didn't have time since his wife can "only do dip". My favorite nail salon in Tucson. I used to live in the Foothills and would drive to the east side just to get my nails done here. The owner is super friendly and will actually talk to you unlike some places. The thing that I like most about this place is they are reasonably priced and don't charge you extra for callus removal whereas a lot of places will charge an extra $5 and do an ok job. I always leave this place with baby feet. I took my male intern to this salon for a surprise and he had never gotten a pedicure in his life. If you can imagine some of the thickest calluses on a person's feet, he had them. The lady didn't complain, didn't charge extra, just took a cheese grater looking object and got to work. Love it! So let me off with the essentials, my mani pedi was good. The price was decent. The technician treated me like a piece of meat. No conversation and spoke only to his peer. When he worked on my hands, he kept smacking my hands to get them in the position he wanted then finally firmly told me to relax. I felt more like an annoyance than a customer. Charging 50 cents more for debit is just cheap. When I rung out he asked me my total and I didn't understand him and just nodded. He got more pissed and slapped my receipt in my hand. I asked him to wait cause I had tip (I didn't give him a great tip, but I did no less) and he just looked at it and threw it in the drawer. I felt awful when I left and will not return. read more

I have been to a few nail salons around town and have never had as many compliments as I have gotten from CoCo's and Sonny's great work! He always asks about my family and makes conversation, I would let no one else work on my nails but him! He and his brother have a great shop now here on the East side and worth the drive to CoCo's, they are very professional and offer excellent service! I think the people who rated low on here go in with some expectations that they are their to entertain you, they are doing their jobs and some are not comfortable with the English language. I called and scheduled a 5:30 PM appointment per Julie's recommendation.Asked her the best time to come in for a gel fill. So we scheduled a 5:30 PM appointment per her recommendation. I arrived up at 5:20PM, signed and sat down. It was about 10 minutes before Julie came up to me to let me know she was "running behind"...almost an hour behind. I'm fairly certain the lady who walked in a few minutes ahead of me got my 5:30 PM slot. I walked out. Why bother scheduling an appointment if greed takes precedent. Very disappointed. My mom and I have been coming here for pedicures for a few years. We always have been satisfied with the quality of the pedicure, specifically the polish which usually lasts a month without chipping off. Other reviews mentioned them being unfriendly but I have not found that to be the case. They have always been polite. I have gone to Coco nails several times over the duration of several years. Danny is the only person worth getting service done by along with his wife. Over the last six months they have gone downhill. Not only do they charge you $.50 to use a card but they also make you pay cash for tips, both of which should be covered by the business for using a credit card machine. The gentleman who manages the front most of the time is extremely rude and very rough, so was a new girl that is working there now. First time I visited, my friend and I had a 1:30 appointment together. It was 2:00 before anyone ever sat us and then we ended up being in two different parts of the salon. Didn't even get to sit together. I got the nail dip and I have had it once before- just not by them. After a week, I broke a nail and went back to have it fixed. I asked if they could do a fill in on the nail dip ( bc I honestly did not know) and was told yes. The polish was not numbered so the technician spent a while trying to match the color. After the "fill in" my color was splotchy with different shades of the pink that I had on. The following week, my artificial nails started peeling up on the sides so I went back one more time to have it fixed. The nails that he fixed didn't even have the same texture as my other nails. The two nails that he fixed were a matte- as the others were glossy. I'm not a big complainer, so I just dealt with it. After dealing with them for 3 weeks, and having my hair snagged on my nails, I went to a different salon. After the new technician removed my nails, I discovered that I now have mold on my nails. I was referred to this place because they do designs. Before I even made the appointment I specifically asked them if they could do a royal straight flush on my hand ( A, K, Q, J, 10 of spades ) she said yes. So, I made the appointment. i would not recommend this place to anyone! i went there to have a mani/pedi which was fine, my nails look ok, however when i went to pay for the services i went to pull out my credit card to take care of everything, at which point i was told for the first time(and had been their about an hour) that the credit card machine was broken, and they had a sign but took it down. After learning my regular girl left my usual place, I decided to give this place a try. An older lady sat down and proceeded to use a dremmel drill to remove the gel from my toenails. On one nail, she removed my entire nail bed, so much so I could feel the air on it. She left the edge of my nails so rough they would have snagged everything. I mentioned this and was assured it would be fine. She proceeded on to the lamest massage I've ever had, if it lasted three minutes I would be surprised. I was told it would be fine. Due to what she did to my nail needs, I was told I would not be able to get my usual French on my toes. Then to be charged 55.00. To add insult to injury, when I went to bed last night, my feet were so rough they were snagging my sheets. I never have rough feet, I have no calluses. So disgusted. read more

I used to come here a lot when I lived here years ago and I used to really like it. I'm in town and needed my nails done so I came in, and it's much different than it used to be. I got gel polish, only $15 so it was cheap, and they look okay. Worth $15 but not much more. The customer service was terrible, she even stopped doing my nails to place a call. The entire time everyone was talking to each other and not a single word was said to me or my sister. An older lady came in and didn't know how to sign in, and the man at the front on his phone refused to help her and said someone else will be there in a second. I really loved this place, until I got a nasty toe infection after a pedicure. Not to be gross but there was so much pus, well ewww. Here's the kicker, it got so bad that I needed IV antibiotics. If there was a less than 1 star thats what I would rate this place. Crappy nail tech and crappy attitude! I went in to have some "dips" removed from another salon (it was convenient to where I was at the time) and the young man started clipping with out asking my preferred length and used a plastic nail to pry off the dip. I asked him 3 times to soak them off, but he said there were different ways to take them off and this was the way he chose to do it. I was planning on having my nails done and he upset me so much that I told him we were done! I had repeated to this young man 3 times during his "take off" procedure that it was uncomfortable and I would prefer to have them removed with polish remover and he ignored me each time and dismissed me. Never again! Would not recommend this this place to anyone! He proceeded to bad mouth me to his co workers in Vietmemese and told me he was unhappy with me for not telling him I preferred to have them soaked off. I wish I was able to post a photo of the hack job he did as he had ripped off layers of my natural nail and then had the nerve to tell me I had no choice but to get another dip because my nails were to weak! They ran late, I had a apt at 1:30. I was told to pick a color which I did then about 5 minutes later they sat me in a chair. No words no hello and they never offered to turn the massage on. Finally got to me 30 minutes later. I decided to just do a mini pedi because of how uncomfortable I felt. She cut my nails crooked and the polish bubbles after about 30 minutes. I've been a customer here for years. My usual nail tech was Julie but my schedule makes it difficult to schedule with her. I now see Jenny and I'm very happy with her. Jenny also waxes my eyebrows and does a good job at that too. They have all new pedicure chairs and the polish selection for gel manicures is great! read more

I went in to the salon for a simple polish change. Easy Peasy. No rocket science involved. First, I was greeted by a guy who asked what I wanted and told me to enter my phone number at the desk. That was the end of the niceties. I was seated at a woman's station who did not even say hello, (she never said one word to me the entire time) she put too many layers of polish and kept messing them up. When I tried to tell her so she could fix the errors she needed someone to speak for her. I did not check prices and asked her the price and she had some guy tell me it was 8.00. When I commented on the fact that all the other salons were still 5.00, he actually yelled at me. "No more 5.00 here!" Ok, it's my own fault.
