That's why this experience was so upsetting. My normal technician was sick, and I was put with another technician. I was told that would be able to provide the service I had originally planned for. When I politely expressed that I wasn't happy with how my nails turned out and asked for them to be corrected, the situation immediately became uncomfortable. My hand was handled roughly during the process, and instead of being met with understanding, I was made to feel like I was the problem for simply wanting the service done properly. I left feeling blamed and dismissed rather than helped. I was then left sitting for over 30 minutes with no communication while other clients were taken, unsure of what was happening next and increasingly embarrassed in a public setting. Throughout the interaction, I felt gaslit -- as though my concerns were unreasonable -- even though I remained calm and respectful the entire time. The appointment ultimately lasted over 3 1/2 hours, causing me to miss work and reschedule my own clients. Even after the nails were redone, I still did not like the final result, yet expressing that only seemed to create more tension rather than a genuine effort to resolve the issue. What hurt the most was being made to feel at fault for advocating for myself. As someone who also works in a service industry, I understand mistakes happen, but clients should never feel intimidated, blamed, or emotionally uncomfortable for speaking up about a service they paid for. This experience ended what had been a long-standing client relationship.
