This place is awesome. We placed a large group order, made up of individual orders and this restaurant was 100% accurate with all 10 of our orders. I made my owner online and it was very easy to do. The owner was so nice while we waited for our order. There is metered street parking available for this restaurant and I did not have an issue finding a spot. I personally ordered the Greek Philly. I was was thoroughly impressed with my food. First, the portion size was huge. I could not finish it in one sitting. Second, it came with a huge salad, which I was not expecting. The salad was delicious, the Philly was delicious. The fries.....not so much. They were crispy and hard. The salad and Philly were both tasty and packed with flavor. I cannot say enough about this place. They have a wide assortment of food including gyros, salads, soups, wraps, paninis, burgers, skewers/kabobs mezza, and antipasti. Good spot with good options. First off the inside of the restaurant is much nicer and classier than the outdoor seating. It's well decorated with comfy chairs and a good vibe. Outside feels like a complete different place (so pick indoor seating). Second, the staff is very friendly. We ordered several of their appetizers for our group and they were all delicious. Their kabab plates were a hit. They also offered a good selection of drinks. Minor thing, and it is from personal experience only: their menus are printed on black paper and in a plastic sleeve. Reminds me of the bad touristy places in Europe. Decent spot. I didn't go inside so can't speak to the interior, but the outside seats were nice and bright. Very good value for the food, but some of the food was lacking. Also our server disappeared near the end of the meal and we had to get up to find someone to pay before my parking garage closed. The sauces and dips were not my favorite--a bit watery/no texture and the flavors didn't stand out, but I liked the pita and samosas. The salad was good also. The kabobs were a bit dry. I love when I find gems! Mediterranean food is one of my favorite cuisines, and my friends and I stumbled upon Coco Lezzone during an evening out in DuPont. I was stunned to see the decent menu prices. Anyone who eats out in DC knows how expensive the restaurants can be. At Coco Lezzone you get affordable prices and hearty portions! We all loved our food and had plenty to take for leftovers. The restaurant has a smaller bar area that was pretty crowded on a Friday night, but we were able to sit in the area while waiting for our table. The hostess was very kind and accommodating, making sure that we didn't have to wait too long for a table. Our waiter was also great and was super attentive despite also serving other tables. Came here for a biz lunch on a weekday. We started with the lentil soup and the ever popular 5 Phoenicians and 2 Greeks appetizer of spreads. For my main I got the lamb kabob and my friend got the chicken kabob. The side salads came out first and were excellent! The app of spreads was crazy good. I loved the falafel on it the best! Generous portion. This could really be a meal. Soup good but I added a little salt. The lamb kabob was a little overcooked for me but tasty. The charred vegetables, especially the broccoli, were my favorite. The kabobs also come out with some spreads so there was overlap in what we ordered. Located a couple of blocks away from the White House, while facing fierce competition with excellent restaurants nearby, this place has been constantly rated high on Yelp. I believe the owner has a big & warm heart and that's why the portions are also big, food are so heartedly cooked, and guests are so professionally served. I stopped at Coco Lezzone after a long travel day. I was exhausted and looking for some hearty, filling food. I found that at Coco -- I ordered a lamb gyro plate that was served with a side salad and Parmesan fries. Although, tasty and served pretty quickly I can't give this place more stars. As soon as I was done eating, a rat ran up a woman's leg that was sitting at the table next to me and she screamed - got up and moved to the table on the other side of the restaurant. She was with 5 others and they all followed her. The server acted like nothing had happened. Didn't apologize to me for the rat or the screaming and commotion. Charged me like normal. One star because you can't give zero. I don't even know if Coco Lezzone is in business. We made a reservation 8 weeks ago by email. We tried to update the number of guests but did not hear back. We tried calling -- there are two different numbers listed. One number says the Verizon wireless customer is not available. The other rings and rings with no pickup and no voicemail. They now accept reservations by OpenTable but show no availability. Their website also has links to delivery services but none of the services allows you to place an order. After several hours of trying to figure out what was going on, we went to plan B--highly recommend Paraiso Taqueria and Mezcaleria. read more

We ordered the Bruschetta which was pretty good. Then the stuffed squash blossoms. I was slightly disappointed in the thick batter. I took it off and ate the inside. I believe due to the thick batter inside wasn't as hot and gooey as it could be. I ordered the lamb kebab. It was ok. I hoped for a little more flavor in my meat and the white sauce could use more zing as a tzatziki sauce. The roasted veggies in my dish was good. I was at an event a few blocks away, and there wasn't much food. I saw that this place opened up recently, and decided I would go once the event ended. It was a Monday evening, so it was pretty quiet. The sun was on its way down, but it still felt nice, so my friend and I opted to sit outside -- it felt great... until later on when it got chilly, but that was on us XD. Sebastian took great care of us, being honest about what he had and hadn't tried, and giving great suggestions. Our appetizer was 5 Phoenicians + 2 Greeks, which was a spread of several dips (including hummus, lebneh, tzatziki, and more), falafel and a few other items. Every single item was delicious with the pita bread. And the pita to spread ratio was perfect! My favorites were the grape leaves and baba ghanoush. For my main entree, I decided on the chicken rosemary ravioli. They didn't skimp on the ravioli, chicken, or the artichoke in that dish! And the flavors were wonderful! Before the entree came out, the menu mentioned a side salad... that was a plentiful salad, I was pleasantly surprised! And again... delicious. It was a lot of food, so boxes were needed. We were served raspberry sorbet to top off the meal, which was quite refreshing. It wasn't too sweet either. We asked for proper dessert menus, and I decided to get the goccia tiramisu, which was scrumptious and not large, so I didn't feel guilty. I read it had cardamom, but upon reading I see it was 'scented' with citrus and cardamom... and that explains why I didn't really taste it. Seeing it had cardamom really got my hopes up, but that makes sense. It was delicious nonetheless. Next time I want to try the cannoli! This is a really tasty spot near McPherson Square. We were looking for Italian and this restaurant had Italian as well as Lebanese and Greek food. Never saw that mix before and felt it was too much of a hodgepodge. Their menu includes a variety of sandwiches (pitas, wraps, paninis, and subs) plus some pasta and other Mediterranean entrees. Their price's for sandwiches seem high at first blush, but they come with a substantial side salad and with fries, and the sandwiches themselves were massive. We ordered an appetizer (labneh) but we shouldn't have given their portion sizes. The sandwiches were excellent, the fries were fine, and the salad was good but could have done without the mealy tomatoes. I wasn't impressed with Coco Lezzone in terms of food quality, though it might have been an off night. The trio appetizer had decent/OK humus, the weirdest babaganouj ever that tasted like it had either breadcrumbs or potatoes mixed in and missing pomegranate seeds, and a labneh that, despite the accompanying fine olives and cornichons, tasted just like unadorned Kirkland greek yogurt. The hot pita was the star of that show. Then came one of their salads that had kale and fruits...but the hard, dried apricots were left whole and nearly impossible to cut (as were other dried fruit) which wasn't appropriate and I struggled to finish the salad (which I did because I was hungry). The kitchen wouldn't split anything in advance despite the rather large portion size (I'd have paid extra for the split) and they apparently wouldn't split a beer either...cultural issue? The salmon that came with the salad was properly done medium-rare but didn't taste like much either...under seasoned. So, the food quality really held back this review since the extra fine service from Sebastian was a joy (though maybe he didn't hear we wanted two beer glasses?) and the restaurant is very comfortable and handsome. Food was very good, and the menu huge, so easy to find something that appealed but service was mixed. Friendly wait staff were not attentive at key moments even as the dining room was mostly empty early in the dinner service (maybe four tables of diners and three wait staff, one who was clearly new. After ordering appetizers and mains, the appetizers came quickly (welcome) and the mains arrived 3 minutes later (not). It was as if the kitchen didn't know they were for the same party. This made the table crowded and the meal feel rushed. When I asked to see the wine list again to choose a glass to go with my main the list was delivered quickly but no one returned to find out what I wanted to order for many minutes.
