I love when I find gems! Mediterranean food is one of my favorite cuisines, and my friends and I stumbled upon Coco Lezzone during an evening out in DuPont. I was stunned to see the decent menu prices. Anyone who eats out in DC knows how expensive the restaurants can be. At Coco Lezzone you get affordable prices and hearty portions! We all loved our food and had plenty to take for leftovers. The restaurant has a smaller bar area that was pretty crowded on a Friday night, but we were able to sit in the area while waiting for our table. The hostess was very kind and accommodating, making sure that we didn't have to wait too long for a table. Our waiter was also great and was super attentive despite also serving other tables. I most definitely will be back to try some other items from their menu!

Came here for a biz lunch on a weekday. We started with the lentil soup and the ever popular 5 Phoenicians and 2 Greeks appetizer of spreads. For my main I got the lamb kabob and my friend got the chicken kabob. The side salads came out first and were excellent! The app of spreads was crazy good. I loved the falafel on it the best! Generous portion. This could really be a meal. Soup good but I added a little salt. The lamb kabob was a little overcooked for me but tasty. The charred vegetables, especially the broccoli, were my favorite. The kabobs also come out with some spreads so there was overlap in what we ordered. Would have loved to try the desserts but the place got too busy and we ran out of time. Our waiter said there is a lively bar crowd for happy hour; I'd like to return for that.

I really wanted to love this place but the experience wasn't impressive. We picked this place due to the high rating. 4.9 in Yelp is hard to get. Maybe that evening was one of those days. Ambience is cute and cozy. Servers were very friendly but they made few mistakes like bringing wrong food and drinks. Their food was not so great. Chicken kabab was pretty dried. Pasta was dried and with lack of sauce. Appetizers tasted like frozen food that was heat up by microwave. I don't think the concept of Greek, Italian and Mediterranean is working. Focusing on one type cuisine could work better.

Located a couple of blocks away from the White House, while facing fierce competition with excellent restaurants nearby, this place has been constantly rated high on Yelp. I believe the owner has a big & warm heart and that's why the portions are also big, food are so heartedly cooked, and guests are so professionally served. A quiet yet intimate environment for either business or pleasure, you will not leave without a happy tummy and mood, thanks to the wonderful chef and waiter (a big shout out to our waiter Sebastian). I'll go back anytime for a hearty meal.

My group really enjoyed Coco. The service was great and the menu is huge, including the drink selection. It's a mix of Lebanese, Greek, and Italian food so it's a perfect place to take your friends with different tastes. Everything we had was really good & will definitely be back. Highly recommend trying one of the imported fruit sodas as well- so yummy!

Came here for dinner with friends and it was a nice quiet night. Our server was Sebastian and he was AMAZING!!! Sebastian was patient and helpful with our group and even offered to separate our checks. We were a party of 7 and we had lots of questions. Here's what we ordered. Starter salad with entree: 9/10 delicious. Would have been a 10 but had to ask for more dressing. This salad is DELICIOUS!!! Full of veggies and flavor. Spicy pasta with sausage: 10/10 Delicious Served Hot (temperature) I love spice and it had a nice little kick. Gnocchi with red sauce and peppers: 9/10 didn't have a protein in it. But, flavorful and wasn't spicy. Chicken kabobs plate: 8/10 I personally didn't try the chicken but the hummus was ok. Plate was nice and full. Loved that it came with olives, pickles, lebneh, pita, veggies and salad. Chicken rosemary Ravioli: 10/10 I personally didn't try but my friend said it was delicious and 10/10. Peach tea: 8/10 delicious but sweet. I had to water it down. Desserts: Cannoli: 9/10 came with 2 pieces Tartufo: 3/10 had this in Italy and this was beyond disappointing and tiny for the price. Semifreddo torroncino: 10/10 delicious Overall, Sebastian made our dinner great! His personality was personable and friendly. Sebastian was attentive and made sure we were all happy.

I stopped at Coco Lezzone after a long travel day. I was exhausted and looking for some hearty, filling food. I found that at Coco -- I ordered a lamb gyro plate that was served with a side salad and Parmesan fries. Although, tasty and served pretty quickly I can't give this place more stars. As soon as I was done eating, a rat ran up a woman's leg that was sitting at the table next to me and she screamed - got up and moved to the table on the other side of the restaurant. She was with 5 others and they all followed her. The server acted like nothing had happened. Didn't apologize to me for the rat or the screaming and commotion. Charged me like normal. I was too tired to complain or ask to be comped, so I left. Really unfortunate situation.

I made reservations for dinner here. I definitely was expecting amazing food as previous reviews said they were really good. 1st off the menu is a mix of Italian Greek and Lebanese. We ordered the Bruschetta which was pretty good. Then the stuffed squash blossoms. I was slightly disappointed in the thick batter. I took it off and ate the inside. I believe due to the thick batter inside wasn't as hot and gooey as it could be. I ordered the lamb kebab. It was ok. I hoped for a little more flavor in my meat and the white sauce could use more zing as a tzatziki sauce. The roasted veggies in my dish was good. The rice was plain, nothing special. My husband got the Aragosta E Crema Di Salmone Linguine, salmon, lobster, capers, roasted tomatoes, cremini, pine nuts, roasted red peppers, spinach, artichokes, pecorino.his had good flavor. My son got the farfalle off the kids menu. Butterflies" in Italian | Roasted tomatoes, basil pesto, pecorino. This was really tasty. Overall, I expected more flavor in certain things it's not a bad place at all just not the best for certain dishes.

I was at an event a few blocks away, and there wasn't much food. I saw that this place opened up recently, and decided I would go once the event ended. It was a Monday evening, so it was pretty quiet. The sun was on its way down, but it still felt nice, so my friend and I opted to sit outside -- it felt great... until later on when it got chilly, but that was on us XD. Sebastian took great care of us, being honest about what he had and hadn't tried, and giving great suggestions. Our appetizer was 5 Phoenicians + 2 Greeks, which was a spread of several dips (including hummus, lebneh, tzatziki, and more), falafel and a few other items. Every single item was delicious with the pita bread. And the pita to spread ratio was perfect! My favorites were the grape leaves and baba ghanoush. For my main entree, I decided on the chicken rosemary ravioli. They didn't skimp on the ravioli, chicken, or the artichoke in that dish! And the flavors were wonderful! Before the entree came out, the menu mentioned a side salad... that was a plentiful salad, I was pleasantly surprised! And again... delicious. It was a lot of food, so boxes were needed. We were served raspberry sorbet to top off the meal, which was quite refreshing. It wasn't too sweet either. We asked for proper dessert menus, and I decided to get the goccia tiramisu, which was scrumptious and not large, so I didn't feel guilty. I read it had cardamom, but upon reading I see it was 'scented' with citrus and cardamom... and that explains why I didn't really taste it. Seeing it had cardamom really got my hopes up, but that makes sense. It was delicious nonetheless. Next time I want to try the cannoli! This is a really tasty spot near McPherson Square. Stop in if you're in the neighborhood!

This seems like a restaurant that is still figuring things out. Service was friendly but slow and they had a temporary managers area at the back of the dining room. Their menu includes a variety of sandwiches (pitas, wraps, paninis, and subs) plus some pasta and other Mediterranean entrees. Their price's for sandwiches seem high at first blush, but they come with a substantial side salad and with fries, and the sandwiches themselves were massive. We ordered an appetizer (labneh) but we shouldn't have given their portion sizes. The sandwiches were excellent, the fries were fine, and the salad was good but could have done without the mealy tomatoes. Not sure I'll race back here, and I don't visit that neighborhood often, but you could certainly do worse.

This is one of my new favorite spots in DC. The food is great quality, the prices are very reasonable, and the portions are huge. They have a great happy hour Monday to Friday with $8 glasses of wine and $10 cocktails. The service is great and the staff are always friendly. Also I don't know if they always do this but every time I've been there, they bring a little scoop of ice cream with the bill.

Amazing experience all around! Sebastian was what set the experience apart and actually made our experience so good that we decided to come back a second night on our 6 day trip. The first night I had the Gnocchi and it was absolutely delicious. The sauce was full of flavor and the portion was generous. To top it off I had the cannolis which were fantastic. The second night I had the chicken kabobs and the flavor was everything I needed. The menu truly offers a wide range of options with a little something for everyone. I couldn't recommend it highly enough! Thank you, Sebastian for making our trip extra special !

Rosemary chicken ravioli came with a nice side salad.

French/Mediterranean style, the food was pretty good and service was great--our server Julio was helpful recommending us dishes to try and was attentive all night. Escargots was a great start, wasn't a huge fan of the Mini Tartelettes Crab & Caviar overall taste. For entrees, would recommend Loup de Mer au Fenouil (whole branzino) and La Paella de Cassoulet (confit duck leg)--both wonderful dishes, flavorful and huge portions, but note, it's more on the salty side so if you're a savory person like myself, it was delicious! For cocktails, we enjoyed the Nina Rose & Dirty Vodka Martini. The bartender also made really good White Tea shots too! Birthday girl got a complimentary birthday balloon cake with a candle which was sweet. Later in the night, they have a live DJ playing music so it gets popping here!

Upon being seated in a gorgeous booth- we realized we couldn't hear each other as a bday party of 12 people were set up in the center of the restaurant... and they were LOUD... it was so unpleasant I had to ask for a manager. Come to learn - multiple other tables had complained as well.... They offered us another table but it was not conducive for an intimate feeling... so we risked staying hoping they'd wrap it up. The manager was lovely and poured us 4 glasses of prosecco as an apology. The food is spectacular- lots of incredible seafood options included in the 3 course $65 RW menu and not one smell of fishy-ness. The sauces and execution are truly delicious- I've lived in the Mediterranean and in France and this is the real deal. Tons of gluten free dairy options which is so amazing. Service was nice and pleasant - not mind blowing. The manager also comped an additional incredible desert and I appreciated that. By the time we got our check at 9:45, another table of 10 was seated at the center of restaurant... and the noise level started to ratchet up. I looked at our check and realized the extra desert that was comped was actually charged to us ... and it was a $22 desert... obviously asked for a refund which they obliged. The establishment is a year old and I think it's having a small identity crisis still - it's stunning inside with an elegant feel and some people dressed in an impeccably classy manner ... and others ... dressed as though they're headed to the club or a pop concert... by no means should a restaurant with such elevated dining where apps are $20 plus and entrees $40 plus feel like you're having to yell at your dinner companions at 7:30pm. Perhaps they need two seatings & advertise that from 9:30pm onwards large parties and noise levels will exponentially increase .. We may still go back since it meets a lot of our dietary needs with upscale flavors- but I hope they figure out with the ambiance !

It feels upscale without feeling stuffy, which I loved. The service was just as good as the space. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of the entire night. Now the food... We started with the Fehleq and it was delicious. Then came the Batata Hara, which was technically for my cousin because I do NOT like white potatoes but that harissa and toum had me reaching back over to their side of the table. The Brussels sprouts were another win, but the Za'atar pide was absolutely my favorite. I could have eaten the whole thing by myself and probably should have ordered another one. And because apparently we were not done eating, we moved on to the regular menu and ordered the tuna tartare. So good. Fresh, flavorful, and definitely not your basic tuna tartare. The drinks were great too. Everything felt well balanced, creative, and matched the food perfectly. By the end of the night, I was already looking at the menu trying to figure out what I am ordering when I come back. And yes, I am definitely coming back. The Batata Hara: fried potatoes with garlic were dangerously good. Overpowering with the garlic but in the absolute best way possible. The only miss for me personally was the ribeye gyro but that's less about Ala and more about me finally confirming that gyros and I are just not meant to be. The food gets a solid 5 stars. The seating situation however deserves a conversation. Yelpers were directed to either the bar or outside with no other options offered. The weather cooperated and it wasn't a bad experience outdoors but when the hostess specifically stated that Yelpers sit at the bar or outside, that landed differently. The restaurant appeared beautiful from what I could see and assuming the inside was as lovely as it looked, that felt like a quiet form of segregation that the restaurant should probably revisit. Guests are guests regardless of how they found you. Our waiter was attentive and never forgot about us which is always appreciated. Overall a great experience with one note worth addressing. I'd return but hopefully at the main table next time.

We were seated immediately and had outstanding service from start to finish. We all shared the pikilia (sampler of all five spreads), all of which were delicious with special kudos for the labne and the muhamarra. I got the Adana for my main dish, which was outstanding. The lamb was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the sumac onions provided delicious crunch and flavor, the rice was well-done, and the lavash was the perfect accompaniment for the lamb. I also got the Turkish coffee which was solid, and split the coffee cake with a friend. While the coffee cake was fine, it tasted more like a honey or spice cake instead of a coffee cake. I look forward to my next visit to Namak! July 2024: A great addition to the Adams Morgan dining scene! My friend and I recently went here for a weekend dinner and were seated immediately at our reservation time. It was extremely busy when we initially arrived; however, after an initial service snafu (which our server apologized for), we received outstanding service with our dishes coming out in a timely manner. Namak's ambiance is lovely, with blue-and-white tiling, lots of natural light, wood tables, and Greek, Turkish, and Persian decorations. Namak automatically includes a 20 percent service charge and clearly indicates this charge on their menu and receipt, which I appreciated. Namak also has plenty of vegetarian options. My friend and I split the four dishes listed below: Kuru Patlican Dolmasi: An OK dish with well-cooked rice but there was too much salt and there was minimal flavor other than the sauce (there needed to be more sauce). Ahtapot: A phenomenal dish, Michelin-star caliber in presentation and execution, and one of my five favorite dishes I have had at a restaurant this year. The octopus was prepared and grilled perfectly-the best octopus I have ever had. The carrot puree was aesthetically stunning and provided excellent sweetness and freshness, with the pickled onions adding acidity and crunch. The greens on top added further brightness and flavor to the dish. Finally, the blue tilework on the plate below capped off a beautiful array of colors for the dish. It is worth coming to Namak just for the Ahtapot-it was that good. Ispanakli Pide-Another delicious plate, with the pide excellently baked, the right amount of fresh spinach and dill, and the perfect amount of feta to complement the other ingredients. Roasted Cauliflower-While the cauliflower was perfectly cooked, it needed a bit less salt and far more tahini, za'atar, and pomegranate seeds. I would have paid $2-3 more for the dish to make it outstanding if there had been substantial tahini and pomegranate seeds at the bottom. My friend and I split the Anatolian cheesecake for dessert. While the sour cherry compote was delicious, I was disappointed that I couldn't taste the Turkish yogurt and Greek feta. I look forward to my next visit to Namak!

Keep it traditional with the hummus - one of them is super soupy like which is disappointing and when I order I can never remember which one I like. Hummus shouldn't be thin it's not tahini (although made with tahini) :) Also what I dislike is that I always ask for no bread or no sauce and they always give me 3-6 pieces of huge bread when I specify no bread and it just goes to waste EVERY time. I hate wasting food and I can't eat gluten so it's just frustrating-I wish they would read the notes when people order or listen better. I still order from here knowing that my meal will be either mediocre or great, it's a chance I take sometimes when I crave their falafel platter.

I ordered a gyro and eggplant salad. I requested the pita for the gyro be separate so it didn't get soggy. That was not done. It's not the biggest deal but it would be nice if customer requests were honored. The bigger issue was the eggplant salad, which was rancid. I literally had to spit out what I had eaten and then throw out the container. When I asked for a refund (just of the eggplant salad) I was told that was not possible, which I do not understand since the food was spoiled and could have made me sick :( Very disappointing experience all around.
