It was very good and had a such a savory taste in the broth. The service was great but mainly the food was the main attraction.

Came here on a weekend night and it was busy but we were seated immediately. There's an upstairs as well so place is spacious. There's only a bathroom downstairs though so if eating with the elderly, keep that in mind. We got the dual pot combo for 4 for $100. I wanted to try the original and the spicy but I would definitely say the spicy isn't worth it. With the original soup broth you can drink the coconut broth, but with the spicy you end up drinking too much oil. Next time I come back, I would either just do 1 original pot or original and herbal broth. With the set, the portions were good and we were all full. It's a good amount of chicken tho there's quite a bit of bones. I did wish we got more veggies and less chicken. It was strange that for a set for 4, only 1 instant noodle was given. You have the option to get instant noodles or udon but their udon is actually glass noodles from what I saw from the table next to me. They also have free unlimited shrimp chips and oranges next to their sauces so that was a nice touch. Their sauces were amazing and much better than any hotpot place I've been to. The service was great and I love that they will cook the chicken and get the broth for you. If the drinks/desserts were more reasonably priced I would probably order some. If you come 3 days before or after your birthday, you get a lifetime 10% off VIP card which is really nice. read more

Heard that there was a new hotpot place that opened up nearby that specialized in coconut chicken hotpot, so figured, why the heck not, right? Don't pay attention to the fact that I don't really enjoy coconut much as a flavor haha. We ordered the organic coconut chicken set and added lamb slices on top of that and everything came out quick, with them putting the chicken in to cook for 6 minutes before anything else. Approaching it with an open mind, I actually quite enjoyed it! The coconut broth added on a slightly sweet and nutty flavor to the chicken while keeping it light and paired with whatever complimentary sauce you want to make, I think it came out pretty well all in all. I know the chicken's the mainstay and star of this restaurant, but I do think in the end I just prefer lamb in hotpot all in all. I just prefer the gamey and fatty flavor a bit more but there looks to be a little something here for everyone which is nice. The vegetables and udon added into the soup were also quite nice, I love that the broth just gets more flavorful as you cook more things in it, with each ingredient adding on its own flavor. One thing about Chinese chicken that's a little different from a lot of American chicken is that the chicken itself is often a little stringier and tougher but has a bit more flavor and body to it. It's not better or worse, just a difference you might want to know. Overall, it's a novel addition to the neighborhood and I do think it'd be fun to try it out, especially if you're a big fan of coconuts. read more

This review is for the dishes and not the hotpot. Don't order the dishes, they're bad. I ordered the beef bibimbap and spicy sauteed squid. The beef bibimbap was not good. The beef was weirdly in cubes instead of strips, the carrots were roughly and amateurly chopped, and the sauce that came with the dish did not taste good. The squid was awful. The chef put too much cumin on the squid. Squid and cumin do not mix well but putting so much made it bitter and awful. Onions were humongous pieces that were barely chopped. It also came with some kimchi on the side which tasted SPOILED. This place deserves at most 2 stars for their dishes. Don't order them. read more

There was honestly no excuse not to try coconut chicken hot pot once it hit Brooklyn's 86th Street. I've enjoyed this concept in Flushing before, so I already had expectations coming in. We joined the waitlist and ended up waiting around 45 minutes, which honestly went by pretty fast walking around 86th. Their waiting area is definitely small and crowded though, so just be prepared to wait patiently for the good stuff. The restaurant itself was packed, but the service never slowed down. The staff was attentive, friendly, and guided us through the experience, which made the meal feel more intentional than just another hot pot night. The space is fairly new, clean and nicely with some thought put into it, and although it looks small from the outside, there are actually two levels inside. We ordered the Original Coconut Chicken set for four, which came with free range chicken, mixed vegetables, beef, and noodles. The vegetable platter for the day included Chinese cabbage, seafood mushroom, pumpkin, carrot, corn, and watercress. The set and add ons were also a better value than I expected because everything felt reasonably portioned and satisfying without feeling excessive. They also offer medicinal herbal and spicy coconut broth bases too, which I already want to come back and try next time. We headed to the sauce bar while the broth was being prepared and I liked their coconut chicken soy sauce. They definitely take their fresh lime seriously here too. What makes this place stand out is how they prepare the broth itself. They pour fresh coconut water into the pot along with Fiji water, bring everything to a boil, then add the chicken with a six minute timer for it to cook through evenly. The free range chicken was hand cut nicely, with fresh quality meat that stayed tender throughout the meal. That first sip of the broth genuinely made the whole table pause for a second. The broth starts off light and naturally sweet from the coconut water, then you get the savory richness from the chicken stock underneath. It somehow tastes clean, comforting, and flavorful all at once without feeling greasy or heavy the way ayce hot pot can sometimes feel. After our first round, we asked them to add more broth for the rest of the ingredients. As we continued cooking everything else, the broth transformed into another version. Richer, deeper, and more comforting, but still clean tasting enough for sipping. This is definitely not your typical ayce or intense spicy hot pot experience. The whole meal feels more centered around the broth itself, quality ingredients, and slowly simmered comforting flavors. Good food, good soup, good vibes, good times. read more

Finally got to try coconut chicken hotpot for the first time! It's very interesting and luckily the menu isn't too big to become indecisive. Do note that since it opened recently, reservations is recommended but you can only reserve if u have a party of 6 or more. The restaurant vibe is nice. There are 2 floors but still tend to fill up quickly. Do recommend coming at an earlier time. Food wise, the chicken was tender and juicy when cooked in the coconut water. It was actually pretty tasty. The appetizers I got were the reason for the 1 star off, unfortunately, as it did not feel worth to try again. Appetizers include the Mango chicken wings and the cucumber with wheat gluten. Service is great, the employees were very helpful and nice. Overall it's worth to try out. read more

This spot only opened about a month ago, and every time I walk by there's a line out the door ~ so I was excited when we managed to snag a table :) The experience starts by choosing your soup base and a set based on your party size. We went with the set for four, which came with a whole chicken, sliced beef, mixed vegetables, and fresh coconuts. They use fresh coconut water as the base of the broth, and everything is prepared and cooked right in front of you. The broth has a natural sweetness from the coconut and the chicken and vegetables makes it feel very hearty and nourishing. The only drawback is that you'll need a little patience :( since everything is cooked fresh at the table, it takes some time for the broth to come to a boil and for the ingredients to fully cook. But if you're not in a rush, it's well worth the wait. Plus, there are plenty of add-ons available if you're looking to customize your meal even more :)) read more

Dined in with a party of 5. Ordered the 4 person twin-flavor coconut chicken hotpot. For almost $100 before anything else, you only get four coconuts and only one small 330 mL of FIJI water to start the soup base. However, after they pour in the coconut water, they did not scoop in the coconut meat into the pot. Go to any other hotpot place that do not specialize in coconut chicken, they would scoop in the meat. This is unacceptable for a place specializing in coconut chicken hotpot and charging so much just for the base. My drink from heytea or naisnow has more coconut water than the pot. This is what the pot looks like after the coconut is poured. Look how little soup there is. The brooth was definitely watered down after the first round like others have noted. They should rethink about their name Coco King. read more

I think using a richer chicken stock, additional aromatics, or allowing the chicken to absorb more flavor from the broth would significantly improve the dish.
