We've enjoyed everything we have ordered. I love the vegan chorizo tacos the best, but all of their vegan dishes are good! My husband gets meat dishes and has liked everything as well. I am so impressed. There's a lot of Mexican food in the area, and most of it is good enough. This little no frills place stands out. The food, service, and cleanliness is fantastic. The meats are excellent. The homemade tortillas are super good. The freaking pinto beans are a draw. I got some catering trays--beans,rice, enchiladas, etc--fair price, great flavor, happy houseful of relatives--and the attention to all the details was surprising. Great local place for street tacos, I wasn't thrilled with the burrito. Everything was a bit salted too much witch did not let the meat pop very well and the veggies were not that great. Probably should be rated at 3.5 but, they messed up on my order and did not five me the sour cream and guac. I paid for that and did not get it. Hard to double check with a burrito on a door pickup. I was looking for fish tacos while in town and came across casino Mariposa. I had three great tacos today. Fish tacos, shrimp tacos and one carne Asada taco. All three were on homemade corn tortillas and served with their delicious salsas. A delicious treat- very fresh and tasty. read more

Looking for a new Mexican place bc our favorite one closed. Someone told us this place was good so we had to try it. Its average mexican food. We had shredded chicken, beef, and cheese enchiladas which were OK and the rice and beans were better than most places. I did not like the horchata. Ordered the chilaquiles to go and this is what they gave us, a small amount of soggy chips in some beans and one of the eggs was broken. Should've checked before we left because we called and they would only give a refund if we brought it back. They put out a super disappointing order and then put the responsibility on the customer to prove its not worth the 12 bucks. Absolutely incredible and super vegan friendly. The jackfruit and salsa verde they put on the jackfruit fries are to die for. Fries somehow stayed crunchy (not soggy) even at the bottom of the box. The women running the place were also so sweet. read more

Ordered the carnitas taco Tuesday special (3 regular tortillas and 3 tortilla echa a mano) was amazing. They have the best salsas and carnitas I've had in Humboldt County yet. This place has amazing sazón! So glad i found this hidden gem. Carnitas are perfectly seasoned and it's actually meat and not just globs of fat like other restaurants will give you. I ordered a "Baja" style shrimp burrito, which translates to cabbage not lettuce on it. Fajita veggies with poblano peppers gave it just the right punch! Omg, it was stupendous! I loved Mananas shrimp burritos in Ramona for 25 years and have never found another as good, until today! I will be back and might have to try some of my other favorites. Wow! I was told to check this place out by a friend and I made the trip today. I got tacos and my boyfriend got a burrito. These are hands down the best and most fresh tacos I have ever had in Humboldt. I am SO happy to have fresh tortillas for my tacos. The salsa had amazing flavor and the service was great.
