I was not familiar with the company, but spent some time on the phone with one of the technicians, Rob, who gave me all the details about the services, plans & pricing on his off time! After speaking with Rob, I called the Encon office on a Wednesday and was able to schedule a visit for two days away on Friday. Rob came right on schedule and went through the entire house, checking for signs of mice, sealing up small openings that could be causing the problems and explained everything as he was doing it. Rob placed multiple bait stations in areas he suggested as an expert including some small spaces, behind appliances, the laundry room, basement, crawl space & garage. Even tho it was his first visit he did a quick spraying for bugs in the basement and walked the permittee of the house using steel wool and spray foam to seal up any open spots he saw that could be contributing to the problem. The plan I chose was the one year which was so reasonably priced I'm not sure how Encon makes any money. It includes today's visit, plus 2 more scheduled visits, PLUS as many other visits we need to deal with the mice and any other pests we encounter over the next here including pretty much ever bug imaginable (except bedbugs, mosquitos, ticks & termites which they do treat for additional fees). His solicitation consists of a hanging mechanism that he attaches to the outgoing postal flag and thereby affixes to the side of one's postbox. See photo. The business owner &/or his representative went out of his way to manipulate our outgoing flag and apparently jam his solicitation onto it -- It took some effort to dislodge the item without actually tearing it off. Your flag could easily be left in the neutral position, rather than in the up position: The unfortunate result is that your outgoing mail might never be picked up because of this rogue business's savage marketing scheme; and, the solicitation is affixed such that it obstructs the postal box/house number from clear view. P.S. Any attempt to contact the business owner to address the matter of postbox tampering is futile: Try calling the business number and you get a robotic message that blurts out the effect of, "All calls to this number go to voice mail. We hired Guardian to treat our brand-new apartment for ants. Unfortunately, the technician used…read moreequipment that had not been properly cleaned, causing the spray to leave drip lines and stains all over our freshly painted walls, the floor, doors and cabinetry. To their credit, they returned and attempted to clean the damage, but they were unable to remove the stains. They acknowledged that the damage was their responsibility and agreed to pay for the apartment to be repainted. Months later, despite repeated follow-up, we have still not been compensated. It's incredibly disappointing that a company would admit fault, promise to make things right, and then fail to follow through. Accidents happen, and I understand that. What matters is how a company responds. Unfortunately, Guardian's customer service after the damage occurred has been far more frustrating than the original mistake. I cannot recommend a company that does not stand behind its commitments.
