Hired Griggs & Browne based on a referral from homeowner association to remove carpenter ants last year and have paid for their prevention/maintenance plan ever since. Nevertheless, roofer found a lot of carpenter ants causing a lot of damage to the home in the same area that was one of the two hotspots noted to Griggs & Browne last year. Will see if Griggs & Browne will cover the expense or not to restore the house and will update. read more

We had an issue at our home with a live animal that we trapped in a bedroom. We have a contract with Griggs so I texted, Jamie, our tech who was on vacation. He responded immediately and told me to call the office and they would get someone out. Within the hour I had spoken with Corey and explained the situation. He told me he would be out shortly with his Manager, Brian to handle the situation. They got out here and were able to capture the animal and get it out of the house!! I highly recommend this company at every level. I have used them twice. The staff was friendly and professional and they addressed my concerns on a personal level. Spring of2022 thru June 2023 I had a mouse and rat problem. They came in early spring and put down many traps around my house. They caught a few mice . Then after that nothing but periodically changed the bait but not catching anything. I thought that might have solved my problem. I even showed him where the mice were. This year I still have the same problem. It has been 5 months since they took the traps away. I called them to tell them and they wanted to charge me money again for a service that didn't do in the first place. Are you kidding me? I paid 249.00 to set the traps and 50.00 a month after that. I said you people should honor this issue and she said, no we don't do that. My response was other reputable companies would and I will call one of them before I pay your company to do a job that wasn't done right the first time. Not a happy customer. read more

They promised warranty service to retreat when pests returned, but never delivered. Never even returned my calls (multiple). Yet, they made sure to send me a renewal invoice, and at a price nearly double what they had specified (in writing) in the original quote. So far, not a reputable company. This company went out of their way to explain how I would have my own "tech" that I could call anytime, which is true. What they did not explain is that the "tech" does not return phone calls. read more

Very disappointed to say the least. Started off on the right foot - Came to the house to set up some mice traps, returned once for a check, and then... crickets. I called three times after the initial check to say that there was an uptick in activity. Each time I was told that I would get a call back to set up another visit, yet I got nothing. Almost one year later (it will be a year in August), the traps are still set up in my house, and nobody has come to grab them. Big time waste of money, time, and energy. I was serviced by Griggs and Browne for more than 5 years. During Covid they claim they tried reaching out to me to no avail. When I called to resume services after 4 months of no service they scheduled a visit. When I called to schedule my next monthly, I was told my account had been closed. Mind you - this was after 5 years of service. They do not appreciate loyal cistomers. The representative on the phone was super RUDE. "If It Weren't for Griggs & Browne, the Whole Town Would Fall Down" is the catch phrase that advertises this pest control company (assuming your call is about termites)! However I only recently learned from a friend that they also cleaned carpets! I cannot speak to the pest control part of the business but I was THRILLED with their carpet cleaning. Our carpeting on the second floor was not old, but there were a couple of serious stains which the workers said they couldn't promise would come out. Well, they got them out and not only is the carpeting again like new, but they also did a "bonus" area (my stairs) for free! Apparently this is a special they were offering, which I was unaware of. I have never known of a carpet cleaning company to do stairs for their bonus area and I was very pleased. Further, two clean cut, friendly and extremely professional men did the work, and I would like to send kudos to Griggs & Browne for hiring them - they rocked. (As soon as I can find their card, I'll come back and edit this review and provide their names.). We will definitely call on them again. read more

Griggs and Brown cleans Carpets! And has for years. Paul and his assistant were excellent. Friendly with my dogs and offering tips for future dirt and odor control on my rugs. I had them set up termite monitoring around my old wooden house with gappy concrete block foundation that practically invites termites and carpenter ants. I got a helpful visit and house checkup, followed by annual reports. So far no termites, but peace of mind. The house has suffered damage before, and I won't be surprised if termites find their way in again. read more

Who knew Griggs & Browne did carpet cleaning? I've been a pest control customer for a few years and I didn't know until recently. G & B customer service has always been great, though, so I decided to give them a try when my carpets needed cleaning. Paul from G & B came bright and early Tuesday morning. He was prompt, thorough, careful, and efficient. As a bonus, he was also a really nice guy and a pleasure to deal with. My carpets look great and my house is now ready for Spring! Posting my review here because I can't find the Griggs&Browne-Buzzards Bay location. I rent out a vacation property and got the dreaded call that one of the renters thought they had bed bugs. After an hour of freaking out we called a random local pest control place and set up an appointment. Michael came out to the rental the next day and was completely thorough and professional. He was completely transparent and told us we did not have a bed bug problem. His honesty saved us a lot of stress and money and for that I would wholeheartedly recommend this pest control service. read more

I got a quote over the phone. They arrived on time and we're very friendly. They asked questions before starting and generally did a good job. They explained that because some of the stains on my carpet were so old and worn in they could not be taken out completely. I am generally happy with how well they got most of the stains out. They asked me about moving furniture and I forgot to mention a small cabinet downstairs that had obvious pet stains around it. They did not move the small cabinet so those stains and smell are still there. I also would have liked to seen a little bit better job along the baseboards especially on the stairs. I would hire them again but I would be a lot more specific about what I expect read more

Our cat had an episode of explosive vomit on our microfiber couch the Tuesday before Nemo hit. Microfiber is a pain when it comes to cleaning liquid that has seeped in, and this was a huge amount of liquid. I found Griggs & Brown via Yelp. They were able to schedule us for Friday, which turned out to be the morning Nemo hit. Paul was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and did an amazing job (see after pic). Mike from Griggs and Browne came by to inspect what I thought was a termite issue. He said it was a wood beetle issue and gave me tips on how to remedy the problem. I offered to pay for his advice and he refused to take it. If I ever have an issue of this kind in the future they will be the first company I call. read more

I had a carpenter ant problem and also small ants on kitchen counter. I paid $275 for Plan A Basic. Some kid came out and sprayed around house and was here for no more than a half and hour. Within a few days I found carpenter ants where I never found them before. Within a few weeks ants where back in kitchen and now I also have mice... which I never had before. I went to Lowes and spent $50 on mice trap and spray for the ants. In my opinion Griggs & Browne ripped me off. Now they want $35 a month plus $85 every quarter. I wish I had paid with my AMEX so I could charge back. Save your money and do it yourself. I will never use them again for anything. read more

We used Griggs and Brown for our home inspection this past January. The inspector who I will not name missed more than a dozen minor to major flaws in the home that have only now revealed themselves to us since moving in. From rotted out soffets to vermiculite insulation in the attic that we are currently having tested for asbestos. Our boiler which was given a passing grade has now failed, our chimney was leaking carbon dioxide from the boiler into our home and our well spits out salty cloudy water. These are all things he has listed as tested and passing in his report. We relied on our inspection to help us make the right decision on which house to buy and G/B absolutely failed us.
