I hired Rose's Cleaning to clean the carpet in the one room in the house that has carpeting. It's a small room and they were able to fit us in last minute. Great! I spoke to Jim on the phone to book the service, and he was really friendly and helpful. He said his wife Rose would be in touch with a quote after I texted some pictures of the room. I don't know who I was texting with in the end. They quoted me $100. The two workers arrived right on time, were very polite, and did a beautiful job! However, they spoke no English and used a phone app to communicate. (You speak into the phone, they read the Portuguese that's generated, then they speak into the phone and it spits out English. Who knows how accurate it is.) I lived in a foreign country for 6 years and while I wasn't fluent, I had basic proficiency in the language... admittedly I worked in an industry where people spoke English, but for day-to-day things I was glad I could read and handle basic conversations. (This was pre-smart phone.) I'd love to hire Rose's Cleaning for their organizing service, but can't imagine how you'd do that with someone you couldn't talk to. They get good reviews for that, so maybe I'll try it. I'm skeptical but interested. If all you need is cleaning it probably doesn't matter that you can't communicate without a phone translator. Rose and her husband came in very short notice to quote a deep cleaning service. They asked good questions and were very attentive to the various surfaces to provide an accurate and itemized quotation so I could pick the services I wanted. They were able to accommodate a cleaning of my condo unit within a week from the quote, and it is spotless! I requested a deep clean and thought it was going be a simple clean but oh boy they really cleaned and organized! They cleaned behind my fridge, in the fridge and under. Rose was extremely responsive and quick to get me on her schedule, she was conscientious of my budget, and her cleaning staff spent hours making my home spotless. I have never had a more rewarding experience with any in-home service than I've had with Rose's Cleaning. I cannot speak more highly of Rose and her team- they are miracle workers! When my dad passed, my brother and I made the bold decision to host his funeral reception in his home, even though it was nowhere near entertaining-ready. There was one room in particular that had become a junk storage space over the years. We told Rose not to bother with that room, and that we'd just close it off to guests. Rose and her team patiently spent the entire day deep cleaning my dad's challenging house, and at one point, Rose took my brother and me upstairs to show us a "surprise."
