When he returned, he said there was not a problem and gave them specific instructions about how to solve a minor problem. Two home visits, reassurance, advice....and he refused to charge them a cent. I was not familiar with the company, but spent some time on the phone with one of the technicians, Rob, who gave me all the details about the services, plans & pricing on his off time! After speaking with Rob, I called the Encon office on a Wednesday and was able to schedule a visit for two days away on Friday. Rob came right on schedule and went through the entire house, checking for signs of mice, sealing up small openings that could be causing the problems and explained everything as he was doing it. Rob placed multiple bait stations in areas he suggested as an expert including some small spaces, behind appliances, the laundry room, basement, crawl space & garage. Even tho it was his first visit he did a quick spraying for bugs in the basement and walked the permittee of the house using steel wool and spray foam to seal up any open spots he saw that could be contributing to the problem. The plan I chose was the one year which was so reasonably priced I'm not sure how Encon makes any money. It includes today's visit, plus 2 more scheduled visits, PLUS as many other visits we need to deal with the mice and any other pests we encounter over the next here including pretty much ever bug imaginable (except bedbugs, mosquitos, ticks & termites which they do treat for additional fees). I decided on Cobra because of the excellent reviews I found elsewhere and their superior, informative website. I could not have made a better choice! My parents were thrilled with Rob's service. From the beginning when they called him, they found the person who answered the phone courteous and helpful. Rob came out to their place for a free estimate, and completed the service within the expected costs. They said their experience with him was "off the charts," he was "assiduous, thorough and personable," that he went "above and beyond what you might expect." They were very happy with the price and the one-year guarantee. Based on their experience, Rob is a pest control expert "at the top of his game." They said "inside and out, he had it covered." So, they highly recommend him! I had a good experience with Rob too--I texted him to see if he would make the long trip from his home base to where my parents live, and he texted me back right away to say he works all over Rhode Island. To summarize, we are very happy with Rob. One caveat is that Rob treated my parents' house for mice. He put bait all around where they are inside, and closed up all the points of entry from the outside. He told my folks it would take about three weeks to stop hearing the mice. It's only been a week or so, so as of this writing the treatment hasn't taken full effect yet. I'll update it when there are no more little mice noises in the house, which my parents and I are confident will be as promised. Update: The mice are well away from my folks' place now, a month after my original review. I visited them a couple of weeks ago and there were no signs of continuing infestation. My dad took me around the house and showed me all the nooks and crannies in the foundation that Rob had inspected and identified where the mice were coming in. Painstaking work! Many thanks, Rob. When this what brought to their attention, they refused to honor the original deal. They also snuck in one more treatment and debited my account before responding to my complaint about their "error." Very deceitful and unethical practices. And Mike, I said I would speak to Saif if he could honor the deal you made with me and changed without my knowledge, but he said he couldn't. Nothing more to talk about at that point. No threats were made. Only a promise to let others know about this unethical business practice that included doubling visit frequency without consent or notification. Own it instead of trying to defend it.
