Visited Cobra for the first time and I'm in love! This Pan-Asian bar has an amazing drink selection to go along with their extensive creative food menu. This place is definitely a hotspot, considering that they have their own parking lot in the German Village/Downtown area! As soon as the door opened at 4pm, people came and lined up at the bar to order drinks and food before sitting down. As first timers, we went with staff recs and boy were they good! The drinks were smooth and strong. You can't go wrong with any of them. The food was anything but bar food--their dishes had high flavor profiles and combinations that goes beyond a regular chicken sandwich or noodle bowl. Only went here for the cocktails on a weeknight, so it was quiet and chill. The cocktails were unique and delicious; I enjoyed the Down & Dirty Negroni and the Afternoon Delight. They also offer a couple creative non-alcoholic cocktails, which I hope they continue to expand on. There's lots of seating on the patio outside, which is nice. read more

Cobra is the place to check out in Columbus. When you first walk in the ambiance is a playful bar full of televisions and spots for couples or groups. You order at bar which is great because you can get information about the menu and even your preferences. That come around quite often to clear tables and turnover is quick. This keeps the bar very clean and traffic moving in and out rather speedily. This place serves food and their menu is very diverse. Tips to make your visit a success: 1) Don't Miss Out on Happy Hour. 4-6PM Wednesday to Monday Happy Hour is active and not to be missed. This place has a nice selection of draft beers and they're all $4 which is a great deal. 2) Late Night Menu. Look for some place to eat after midnight? Come test out their late night menu. Get here! Food is entirely on point. I came here a few months after they opened in 2022 and was disappointed by the food. Was hesitant to come back. But they figured everything out and then so, so much more. It is like night and day: I was completely blown away by the quality, creativity, and freshness. Food comes out fast and HOT. Service is incredibly helpful and friendly. Got the chili crisp chicken sandwich. Wow! Super crispy but minimal breading in the absolute best way. I'm a bit of a fry snob, and these fries did not disappoint. Dumplings are a staple here and soooo good. Creative and fun drinks. We went for happy hour so we didn't eat much but the drinks were delicious. The French fries and sweet potato dumplings are great and pair perfectly with the cocktails. Will have to come back for the main course as the Asian fusion menu is super intriguing. I think I'm too old for the counter ordering and minimal service including having to get your own water! It's hard to give a 20% tip when the service is just bringing food to your table and cleaning the table afterwards. Love that they have a big parking lot in the Brewery district as parking is a huge hurdle. read more

Hands down amazing, fantastic, awesome experience from start to finish. We were looking for a place that served food late-night while visiting Cbus for the evening. Cobra was really the only appealing option- the menu looked great and it also had the highest reviews. It was conveniently located on High Street near German Village. The parking lot had a lot of cars but there was plenty of parking. Upon entering we were greeted by a friendly employee who explained to us that we would order everything at the bar but that we could sit anywhere. There was ample seating available; tables, booths, the bar top, and an outdoor patio. We chose to sit at the bar where we were promptly given menus and water. Kayla was our bartender and she was awesome. She and the entire staff were on top of everything the entire time. I was told that the craft cocktails were amazing (they had a BBL Drizzy cocktail on their menu lmao) but I'm currently not drinking alcohol, so I opted for two of their mocktails that evening and they were delicious. Food was incredible; we had the sticky beef skewers, baby octopus/sausage skewers, the pork/shrimp spring rolls, Shanghai noon burger, Dan Dan noodles, and the Cobra coney. We typically box up more than half of our meals when we go out, but this food was so good that we ate everything. We were picking at crumbs/leftover sauce because it was that damn good. The ambience was a complete vibe... the music was an eclectic mix of house, popular hits, indie, r&b, hip hop.. and I loved it all. The tv above the bar was playing Princess Mononoke, followed immediately by My Neighbor Totoro. There were purple, green, and orange light bulbs giving the bar a dark glow. The entire restaurant was kept very clean, including the bathrooms. The cherry on top was that we noticed our favorite Cleveland bar (LBM) was doing a guest pop-up at Cobra a few days after we left. The cocktails are amazing. Cobra Fang and Hey Chico are our favorites, and you can't go wrong with old fashioned. Well crafted. For those that have been to the popups, the food is better than they were then! The Woodhaven food was fantastic, but tasting the non-vegan variants are definitely much more to my liking. Cobra staff are amazing! They are attentive and very knowledgeable. We never had to wait long for anything. We arrived around 4:30 on Saturday, sat at the bar and it was just starting to get busy. We ordered the Spicy Shrimp Fusilli Noodles, burger & chicken Thigh/Drum Yakitori. We loved the shrimp noodles the most. The noodles were a little firm or al dente. It came with calamari and the shrimp was very fresh. The burger was ok. We just didn't enjoy the bbq sauce and shallots, we wish we would have gotten it American style. But the beef was quality and a really great size. The chicken thigh/drum stick you get both a thigh and drumstick which is covered in bbq sauce and sesame seeds. The chicken could have used a little more smoke flavor. But overall a good place to eat and drink. We had the Banana bread and Above ground Pool drink. We loved both! read more

Personally had a great experience at Cobra but do feel something is missing when it comes to ambiance. We stopped in on a Sunday but have heard how crazy it gets on Friday/Saturdays. The bar area is cool, the brand is trendy and the food was very good from what we had. You order at the bar and can then find seating elsewhere should it be too crowded. Our bartender was both informative and kind. The Cobra Fang cocktail in particular stood out as both boozy forward and fruity from the Wray & Nephew + fassionola respectively. I wasn't too crazy about the second cocktail - the Hey Chico! but I'm not a big grapefruit person so that isn't necessarily a complaint against the quality. Food was great - the chicken patty katsu sandwich was decent sized and unique from most katsu sandwiches I've had since it was made from a chicken sausage blend. I have a unique review to give Cobra & specifically their staff. Last night I had my car parked on Sycamore & a man was sleeping on my car. I was alone & my phone was in my glove compartment. I went in to Cobra & told them what was happening. One of their buffest bartenders walked me to my car, asked the man to please move away from my car, and made sure I got away safely. (It took a few requests so...this wasn't a situation where I could have just asked him to move) I am so grateful for the way this was handled through de-escalation and not involving the police. THANK YOU nice bartender whose name I didn't get. Also, the cocktails and the ambiance here are great! my first time there today was a very bad experience. The staff or should I say the two women behind the bar at 6:32 Sunday Oct 5th are the most condescending people I have ever been around. MY order was taken to go, for which was my 1st time ordering from there. As I received my number after paying I stood and waited thinking that is what you do air for your to go order . The other person said don't just stand there go sit somewhere so they can find you, like I knew someone was looking. As as walking toward the end of the bar by the kitchen the blond short one muddled fag it as they both laughed . I have heard all kinds of negactive comments now I know why the place is going downhill and probably closing soon. This restaurant is located in the German Village with a good amount of lot parking which is very convenient. I went with 2 friends for happy hour and it didn't disappoint. We ordered our drinks and food at the bar and then sat down after we got our drinks! I ordered the gold tooth tiger drink and it was amazing. It was sweet but also had a citrusy tang to it which I really liked. The food didn't take super long to arrive. I shared the fries and the dumplings and they were both good! I accidentally had one sweet potato dumpling instead of the pork one and I actually liked the sweet potato one more! The man who took our order suggested dipping the fries in the dumpling sauce and it made the fries taste even better than they did initially. I got the Dan Dan noodles for my entree and it was perfect and delicious. It had a good amount of sauce and spice. Great food, but weird seating situation. It's first come first serve seating but does not mean you are putting a name in and waiting. Over a dozen people are standing waiting for a table to be open and you have to stare down every nearby table to see when they're done and jump on it. People seemed extremely annoyed to be waiting and having waited 45 minutes and then people who just got there jumping in on a dirty table just to have somewhere to sit. Just really weird overall and off putting. We ordered the Chili Crisp Chicken Sando which came with delicious crispy fries and Crab Rangoon Dip. Everything was so good it made the chaotic seating situation (almost) worth it. I really wanted to love this place... it just fell little short for me. Prepare for there to be a wait, which goes by fairly quickly. The vibe is fun, however the music is far too loud for you to have an enjoyable conversation. I know that sounds like such an old person thing to say, but it's the truth. Per usual, we ordered a lot to get a taste of the menu. We ordered crab rangoon dip, fly's head noodle dish, chicken thigh and onion skewer, and dan dan noodles. As others have mentioned, the rangoon dip was awkwardly sweet. The fly head noodle dish was a little too overspiced - usually flavorful is a positive. However, I found that my tastebuds quickly tired of the taste - I think this is a me problem. My husband enjoyed the chicken thigh - I chose not to try as I was getting very full. My husband was a little let down by the dan dan noodles. I hope that other patrons love this restaurant, as I think I would in a different life ;-).... but I just don't think it's for me. read more

As soon as we walked in, it had a cozy vibe that was just as expected. Music wasn't overbearing. Ambiance was perfect for my partner and I to relax. We were greeted almost immediately and decided to sit at the bar. All of the bartenders working were more than welcoming and very enthusiastic about explaining the menu which we appreciated because it was not overbearing for our first time. (Mike) I think was the bartender who suggested the cucumber salad and it was AMAZING to snack on while deciding on our next menu item. I was debating on getting the burger vs. the limited time macaroni and cheese with hangar steak and short rib. Our server was considerate enough to let me know that they were just now making a fresh batch of the macaroni if I was interested in going that route. I did and it was delicious! The only reason I didn't give it a perfect rating was because the Saketini wasn't my favorite, I didn't taste the sake at all and the crab rangoon dip while having a good amount of lump crab meat was very heavy on the cream cheese. Otherwise, everything was excellent and I'll be going back to try more. The dumplings, snake juice, and above ground pool were by far the best items we tried. First time going to one of Columbus' best new bars/restaurants, @cobracolumbus and it was as cool and great as advertised! We went last Wednesday on our 20th #anniversary If you know this spot, it has a ton of #cbushistory in this building. We started with a couple cocktails, I had to get the snake juice, and wifey had the XXX sour. The snake juice need more of something for me, maybe venom, lol, But it was easy to drink and refreshing. The XXX was very tasty. Everything on the menu was intriguing but we went with the #koji #popcornchicken, #crabrangoon dip, and the #Scallop #fettuccini (not pictured). Tbh they were all amazing, but my fave was the thigh popcorn chicken. It had the perfect amount of seasoning, crispness, and deep dark meat flavor. The #aioli was to die for. I can't see me not getting this every time. Make sure to use the lemon wedge. The #crab dip was lump crab meat. The dressing was amazing, but the crab went quick. The fried wontons to scoop it out had @oldbay_seasoning on them, showing that Cobra knows how to do their Asian take on American bar food perfectly. The scallop linguine is NOT in an Alfredo sauce, which I didn't expect it to be but the bartender/ who I placed our order with rightfully made sure I was aware of. Instead it is wide flat egg noodles in a broth you'd expect in a #Pho or maybe #ramen. It had bunch of baby scallops, and the broth was deep and delicious. We agreed we would have loved to have some veg, maybe bok Choy carrot, idk. Overall they are a very cool spot near some of our favorite spots, so we are looking forward to getting back!! Missing Chicago's food scene something terrible since moving here and luckily for us Cobra hit the spot. Veggie dan dan was great, same for the tofu crackling salad, and broccolini. The fly's head was outstanding -- great heat and good flavor. Dumplings were the perfect bite and a great sauce to boot. The sleeper hit for the whole table was the sweet and sour eggplant. This is a cool little bar for a late night meal out on the town. The bar is self service for ordering food and drinks which are then brought to the table. I'm fortunate enough to eat at a lot of great restaurants all over the country, often for business which can mean some pretty extravagant meals. My wife and I are also huge foodies and would spend our last dime on truly worthwhile food, which, unfortunately, can be a rare find. Lately that good fortune has involved 3 Michelin starred restaurants in NY and Miami in the last 6 weeks. Not that those are always the best. I had a $5 bahn mi a few weeks ago in Charlotte that Id likely murder someone to get another. The past week I've been on a tear eating in Jax, ATL, Cincinnati, Indy and now finally here in Columbus. Hardly what many would consider Mecca for food but when you're sitting at Camp Washington Chili eating 5 way at 2:30 in the morning, how is that not every bit as good as a 9-courser at a Boloud restaurant on the Upper East side? So, we trip into this place on a boring Wednesday night and immediately struck by the menu and how "on brand" everything is - typeface, food descriptions, name. Wow. Then the cocktails. Inventive. Fairly priced. Well executed. OK. I'm not even hungry and my wife wants Italian but the concepts behind the dishes here at Cobra are so on point that I couldn't not eat (it was hours before I usually eat.) So we ordered mash ups of traditional Sunday sauce and claims with homemade squid ink pasta. When the dishes came I kind of raised an eye brow. When we tried them, I couldn't think of an Italian pasta I'd had in the last year that rivaled either. Then I had the chef's mom's recipe dumplings. F me. Seriously? This place is a stinking gem. I don't gush over things often, in fact a lot of my reviews are negative, especially given that I feel like most reviewers give 5 stars for what amounts to wallpaper paste. I try and reserve it for only the very best restaurants in their market or multiple Michelin star restaurants. I almost wish for the days when only a few people reviewed food professionally so the rest of us knew for sure if something was actually good, but trust me, this place is good. Really good. And not just the food but the concept. The kitchen. The woman who walked us through our meal at the bar. All on point! I can't remember an experience like this since August 2023 and that includes 7 Michelin starred establishments in that time. And about 180 plus restaurants from 3 star to food truck. If you don't like this food, it's your problem (or you're there to find something wrong.) These folks should be super proud of the product they're putting out. Top notch! read more

Talk about an identity crisis. Maybe it was the time I went as it was midnight. But I thought that was the point of being open till 2 am. It was a Friday night. Light crowd. Still, very Panera looking to me for all the time they took to open. You order at the counter...the bartender was awesome, well-versed, and explained everything well. They only had a small part of the menu which is fine but what's the point of being open so late but only offering part, kinda punishing people who come late? 12-2 they offer the smaller menu. The drink was super small but delicious. Where you sit is super casual. This is where the identity crisis comes in. I expected more of a supper club vibe. They give you a number and they bring you the food in TO GO containers. Um. If you want water you have to go up and get it yourself. Which again is fine but all of this doesn't fit the vibe of the very professional bartender. I had the Koji Popcorn Chicken which was fine. But just fine. I could get it anywhere. The Seasoned fries were just okay. I will go back to give it another shot before midnight probably but was disappointed as the whole schtick was a late-night alternative. No idea how such a mediocre place is rated so high. Drinks were nothing special and overpriced. Atmosphere looked exactly like what happened...an old Panera converted on a budget. All those things could be ignored if the food that many of the reviews rave about was good, but it had no redeeming qualities. All 4 things we tried were disappointing and low quality for the price. The noodle dish was the worst and most accurately could be described as kraft shells with soyaki instead of cheese as the sauce. To make things worse, this dish came with tofu and a total of two small bits were placed on top. This is the type of place that makes Columbus look bad because the rating and reviews make it sound like the best place in town, but it barely beats fast food quality at much higher prices. read more
