Rob gave us a choice of a history tour, music, or friendly conversation. We appreciated this as we live in St. Augustine and have heard the history many times. Ron asked us what type of music we liked and let it play. He had blankets for us which was great for the cool breezy night. We really enjoyed how friendly Rob was. We are very personable people and loved not only hearing about Rob, but he also shared some unknown facts about St. Augustine that you don't always here on the tours. It was a wonderful experience.

It most definitely didn't seem that way! They DID get back to me via text, but it wasn't in a quick fashion. I'd say an semi-acceptable fashion (within 8-12 hours.) Regardless, we DID get our event scheduled for a private tour with (15 people.) It was quite an expensive 'private tour' of the night of lights that was explained to me as tho the grinch (driving one trolly) and Santa (driving another trolly) would interact with one another (more than minimally) and make the tour exclusive to all 15 of us. They would hop off one trolly and interact with the passengers of the other trolly, etc. In reality, it was NOT a collective tour. The grinch separated from the other trolly and it was essentially two separate tours. Approximately 3-4 times they interacted with one another (acting as tho one would hit the other's trolly, yelling insults at Santa, responding to the grinch, and stopping at the 'duck bar' for the ambush together.) The address to initially meet at is kind of hard to find, even with GPS, as well! There is NO indication of 'the tasting tours' business name on the store front at the address. It is a Cuban bakery.' YES, we all had a good time.... But I don't want the rest of you that book a 'private' tour to be mislead or pay for something you won't receive. *** I also find it distasteful that the company charges an unprecedented amount of money for the trolly rides and then has the audacity to send an email asking for further tip for the trolly drivers.*** Whether a patron tips or not is up to them, not a business owner requesting it!

He was also able to offer some tips for the best haunts to frequent in the area, which we greatly appreciated. We stopped at 4 bars throughout the ~2 hour tour and all of them were unique experiences. A special was offered at each stop and there were plenty of options at each venue. There were a few additional stops along the way for some spooky stories. This tour was a fun way to explore St. Augustine and shed a new light on the city that we've visited many times in the past!

We had 2 tour guides: Gracie and Matlock…read more Gracie is amazing. She has such a fun personality and you can tell she loves doing this. She's a great story teller. If you get her as a guide, you will not be disappointed. I think our other guide Matlock was new. It felt like he was playing a character or role. It may have been the way they chose to split up the night, but his parts felt cheesy. Overall, it was an interesting tour and somewhat what I expected.

Being the highest rated walking ghost tour in St. Augustine, and the fact that it was dog friendly,…read moremy husband, dog,and I decided to check out the Night Watchman Ghost Tour. We gathered at the storefront, and almost immediately my dog started acting confused and scared. He's an 80 lb pitbull, and get doesn't really get scared of anything. At one point, he lept into my husband's arms (a move solely used at the vet's office). As soon as all of the patrons had arrived, Scott, our storyteller, told us about a little ghost girl Lily that lives in that building. She will often play with marbles and a doll in that same room. My husband and I have no doubt that she was petting the dog and that's what freaked him out. It was a great beginning to our ghost tour for sure. Scott then spent the next 2 hours taking us from place to place telling us about ghost encounters in the buildings that we were standing in front of. He was immersed in the history of St Augustine, even being a volunteer archaeologist and helping move parts of history. His storytelling skills were second to none. Even our dog, who had walked ALL day long around St Augustine, stayed close to Scott trying to listen to the stories and was excited as we moved to each place. It was a slow paced tour so you don't have to worry about being physically fit to partake. It was a well-spent 2 hours that my husband and I truly enjoyed. The dog enjoyed it too, except for being petted by the ghost Lily. We highly recommend this tour! Thank you, Scott, for such a fun adventure!

His ghost stories were right on par and none of that tacky paranormal equipment or fabricated sightings. We were lucky enough to be the only 2 souls who signed up this particular Thursday. He could have cancelled, rushed through the tour or lost interest due to our group size but this was NOT the case. At one point, we steered questions towards the general history of St Augustine and there wasn't a single question he could not answer! Our guide, Chance, was knowledgeable, fun, and engaging. He took time to find out what we were most interested in to make sure to point out relevant locations and share poignant facts. The tour was well-paced and Chance was incredibly considerate about finding us shady spots during the outdoor talking stops on the tour (it was quite a hot day, even for Florida). The food and wine stops were all impeccable; the food portions and wine pours were generous and everything was absolutely delicious. The dining stops were also a great break from the heat - each stop lasted enough time to savor the food and wine and enjoy the air conditioning. We appreciated that the tour was at 2 pm rather than a peak time for restaurants; the stops were not super busy or noisy which made for a very pleasant experience. This is an interesting and fun way to learn about St. Augustine's history and present food scene. We highly recommend St. Augustine City Walks.
