My husband and I took a carriage ride around St. Augustine. Rob was our driver and wonderful host and Ronald did a great job pulling us up and down the streets of St. Augustine. Rob gave us a choice of a history tour, music, or friendly conversation. We appreciated this as we live in St. Augustine and have heard the history many times. Ron asked us what type of music we liked and let it play. He had blankets for us which was great for the cool breezy night. We really enjoyed how friendly Rob was. We are very personable people and loved not only hearing about Rob, but he also shared some unknown facts about St. Augustine that you don't always here on the tours. I really hate to have to write a bad review, but it's kinda their own fault. I booked the wedding package Horse drawn carriage to pick my husband and I up at 6PM, 1/6/24 after the wedding in front of the wedding venue, the St. Francis Inn, which is amazing if you are looking for a beautiful place to stay, so that our paid photographer could get pictures of us getting on the carriage. We made other arrangements for our guests to get picked up and taken around to see Nights of Lights. Keep in mind, I called and booked this myself with my own credit card. There was a mix up with St. Francis and someone called and canceled it. Country Carriage, without texting or calling to verify this with me, went ahead and canceled it. Therefore, my husband and I had no professional photos taken with the carriage in our wedding attire. If that wasn't bad enough, Country Carriage still charged us $375. It was supposed to be an hour around historic district seeing Nights of Lights. After I called and they did deliver a carriage, we only got about 15 minutes. Our driver barely spoke to us. We didn't get any history or see Nights of Lights. We wish we had went with our guests on the Pineapple Express, which is another great company to work with. Our guests loved it, and got to see all of Nights of Lights and play a game. read more

The Yelp page shows closed, they are open. We booked a carriage ride for the family for December 23rd at 8:00 pm. For the Night of lights. We had 8 people driving in from different states. Our 5 hour drive took 9 hours. The rain coming down thru Georgia was terrible. Many accidents and lots of traffic due to very low visibility. I called and was concerned we would miss our carriage ride. Jennifer was amazing. She assured me they could accommodate us no matter what time we all arrived. She said to keep her updated. We planned for 9pm and at 8:55 she called to check on us. We were having a hard time parking and she told me not to worry. When we finally arrived, we were greeted by Chelsea and her sweet horse Bob. They took us on a magical ride that our family won't forget. It was fun. We sang Christmas carols and took tons of pictures. Thank you to Jennifer, Chelsea and Bob!! We tried the beach horseback riding and the downtown carriage tour. 1st the Horseback riding. Fot the price of $75 a person you can have Country Carriages meet you at Vilano Beach with a private guide to take you on a one hour ride on the beach. This is actually how I decided to propose. They will stop half way to take pictures at which point you have the option to pose or ask a very special question to your loved one as in my case. They have horses that are very experienced and good for inexperienced riders (like me) as well as some that need a good seasoned rider to keep them in line. Just tell them your experience level and they will match you the best they can. As I have found this is one of the very few places in Florida to go horseback riding on the beach, andit is well worth the money. Now for the carriage rides. The carriage ride was an increibly relaxing and romantic part of our night, however it's not just good at night time. The real point of the carriage tours is to give you a historical overview of the city. You will learn where all the cool places are, and plenty of facts about each different historical destination around town. If your having trouble deciding which tours to take or which museums to go through, then take the carriage tour first. There you will get a solid idea of which places are best. Tell the carraige driver about your trip and your plans and they may even be able to make some suggestions for you. Well at least the very nice woman driving our carriage was able to. read more

We ate dinner and then took the kids out for a nice carriage ride that covered most of the city. Our driver was very amiable, knowledgeable, and great with kids. We loved it! What a great way to spend an evening! My best guess is that the carriage was large enough to seat a maximum of 9-10 people. Our family of five had more than ample room. The horse was well fed, appeared well cared for, and was well treated during our tour. The carriage was in nice condition. The ride was smooth. Worth every penny! read more

My husband and I used Country Carriage on the night of our wedding to depart to our hotel. It was something that I really wanted to do and I am so glad we did. Peter was our driver and was pleasant, informative and unobtrusive. The one doing all the work was Fred, a semiretired Amish horse brought down from PA. He understood only Pennsylvania Dutch but gave a smooth ride. Very friendly and had character . False advertisement. They have an advertised Ghost Ride tickets are $20 for 1 60 minutes. When we went they wanted us to pay $85 for 45 minutes. We used Country Carriages for our Grand Exit at our wedding, and we are so happy we did! There are a lot of options in the St. Augustine area for carriages, but after making several calls to different companies, I found Coutnry Carriages to be very responsive to calls and emails, great customer service, and definitely the best in price. They offered a half hour rental compared to other companies, which helped us cut costs compared to paying an hour long carriage ride. We were able to pay beforehand as well so we didnt have to worry about carrying money on us as we ran from the reception in our dresses :) They were really great to work with, and I would definitely recommend them to others. The carriage we had was covered so it was a welcome break from the afternoon sun & it gave our tired feet a break too! Andrea was our carriage driver & she was really nice & had lots of local information & history to share with us. Going on a horse carriage ride had been on my bucket list for quite some time and I'm so happy that my first experience was with Country Carriage. My husband and I visited St. Augustine as a possible place to relocate, so we obviously wanted to check it out! Not only did we fall in love with the city, but my husband surprised me with a horse carriage ride around the historical district. I have to say that I was blown away with our experience!!! Our coach, Andrea, introduced us to her horse, Mr. Leo, and it was fun to watch the bond that she has with him. Andrea's humor and vast knowledge of St. Augustine's history and legends made this experience memorable. While we could have opted for a "relaxing" tour in which the coach remains quite throughout the journey, I'm so happy we opted for the informational tour - Andrea and Mr. Leo were a blast! I wanted to have a carriage ride after our wedding reception and Country Carriage seemed like the best company to use. They promptly showed up when requested and made it very easy on us by taking payment before hand including the drivers tip. He showed up in a tux with the carriage decorated. We had a lovely quiet ride through old town Saint Augustine and he dropped us of at the Casa Monica as requested. Everything went perfectly. The only reason I gave them 3 stars is because I could not take pictures with the horse. They brought a horse that is scared of wedding dresses. It was disappointing, as I love horses. I also wish that the carriage did not have purple neon lights as I thought it looked a little tacky. Other than that I am really glad I chose this company to use for my special day. read more
