It was nice because you could move easily from side to side of the boat. They give information about what you're seeing. I was able to hear all the information fine. My family and I booked a last minute boat tour for Father's Day and had a blast! Tickets were cheaper than other options. Boarding directions were clear and simple. The crew members were kind and the captain shared a wealth of knowledge with us. The boat was also equipped with a bar that had beer/wine and snacks for the kids. We took the 6:45 cruise and the sun was still pretty high over head, so I'd recommend bringing a hat and sunglasses if booking over the summer. We were able to see the light house, Vilano beach bridge, Anastasia state park, the Cross at the Mission, and downtown St. Augustine. We had a nice time on the water today, but we were glad that they offer an enclosed lower deck as it was quite windy. The trip was the advertised 75 mins. It is a narrated trip and the speakers can be quite loud if you are sitting close to them. The trip never leaves the bay, but there is plenty to see, including dolphins that were swimming near us. We used an online booking system which charged my account but never sent a confirming email and we ended up buying tickets at the dock and will have to contest the double charge at a later date. I also question the information on the narration, as I caught at least 3 inaccuracies. It was a pleasant trip and we enjoyed it, even with a couple of hiccups. read more

Really enjoyed this scenic boat tour; didn't get a chance to go on the day we planned, but was able to book a ride the very next day; great customer service; we were able to change our time at the last minute for an earlier booking; the captain was nice enough to wait five minutes for us to get to the boat before pulling off. DO NOT BUY CHRISTMAS LIGHT BOAT RIDE. There is one road with all the lights in St Augustine. The boat just goes back and forth 3 times. Yes $30 per person to see maybe 3-4 blocks of lights. There is no historical facts being given or anything other than driving the boat back and forth for 1.5 hours looking at the same thing over and over. The light look better in the street anyway. It only deserves 1 star because i saw the Christmas lights and they gave free hot chocolate and cookies. Still not even close to costing $30. I would say $10 would be more reasonable. read more

We found out about this activity on Bring Fido since we were visiting the area with our small dog. It was great that we could bring him along for the ride. I had found a coupon before our visit, so we purchased one adult admission and received the second one for half price. We were here at the end of February, so it wasn't TOO crowded. I'd say the boat was about half full on the day we went. We had never been to St. Augustine, so we thought this would be a great way to learn more about this historic city. Unfortunately, there was minimal narration on the boat. I'd give another star if there had been. We did see a lot of landmarks like the fort and lighthouse. Took a group and all arrangements prior to sailing was great. The warm greeting I received at the check-in window was perfection. The boarding was exactly on time and all safety precautions were met. The staff were all welcoming and paying attention to all safety matters. A friend and I were spending a couple of days in St. Augustine and wanted to squeeze in as many of the sights as possible so when purchasing our Red Train Tour we added on the scenic cruise at 1 pm. The captain and his crew were very welcoming and I love that the cruise is pet friendly. We went to the upper deck so the dogs could enjoy the breeze, it drizzled for a few minutes but cleared pretty quickly. The captain told us about all the sites and landmarks and even stopped a few times so we could enjoy the dolphins. The trip lasted an hour and 30 minutes and I was happy to be able to get some great photos of the lighthouse, the fort and the largest metal cross as well as learn about some of the historical buildings in town. They do sell snacks & beverages on the cruise and there are bathrooms and a gift shop at the dock. I'm looking forward to coming back with hubby next year and will definitely take the cruise again. Tips: Bring camera Take the Little Red Train, it's pet friendly and will drop you right off at the marina, parking is free at their main station and you can ride all day. read more

This is a great tour if you have limited time in St Augustine and want to experience the main highlights of the area. You see a unique perspective of the local landmarks from the water. And if you are lucky, you will catch a glimpse of dolphins along the way. We did! We purchased our tickets at the marina. There was a coupon online for buy one and get second one half price. So two people could go for $27. They have senior and child's rates too. Toddlers and babies are free. Leased dogs are welcome as well at no charge. The boat docks in the marina. There are restroom facilities at the marina and on the boat. The boat boards 12 minutes prior to the scheduled departure. We took the 11:00 and travelled on the Victory III. Unfortunately it started to rain just as we were leaving. I recommend taking a rain coat. It was cold. There are indoor and outdoor options for viewing and you can move about during the trip. The captain narrates the trip and we found it hard to hear him inside. It was also hard to see from inside as the windows fogged up a bit. So we opted for chilly outside. The views were spectacular. The trip takes about 80-90 minutes. We traveled beneath the Bridge of Lions, pass historic downtown, the Castillo de San Marcos, the largest metal cross. We learned about the bridges and harbor. The highlight was seeing the lighthouse from the water. Lots of great photo opportunities. We saw about a dozen dolphins throughout the trip. You can purchase beer, wine and non alcoholic beverages on the boat. I hear the sunset cruise is great. At night you can get great views of the Nights of Lights. I would like to do the evening trip. There is limited metered street parking across from the marina. Otherwise parking is a bear. What you need to take: camera, rain jacket, sun glasses, sun screen. I saw people bring snacks. read more

They cancelled the boat tour without letting us know until we arrived even though they had our contact information. Parking was a nightmare which they made clear with an email warning that there would be no refunds for missing the boat. So we went extra early and paid $15 to park more than a half mile away only to discover it was cancelled due to high winds. It was a sunny day in the 90s. We never thought about it being cancelled. Nice way to end a day walking around St. Augustine took the last boat and had a blast. Nice way to end a full day of food, shopping and sightseeing.We seen a bunch of dolphins playing along side the boat at the sunset transformed the sky into beautiful varied hues of pink, purple and orange. It's always great to see the city from a different perspective on the water. Well, they give you an excellent history of the city as you pass by all of the major landmarks. It was great as we waited until the last day of our trip to take this cruise, so hearing the history after having visited all of the sites was a treat for us. What pushed their service over the top in my opinion was the picture taking. Normally a small cruise will take your picture and sell it to you, but when we arrived at the lighthouse they slowed down and had the crew ask if you wanted your picture taken and proceeded to take your camera and snap a pic of you with the lighthouse in the background. It was fun to hear the captain's narration, I would have liked to hear more about St Augustine history. The staff was friendly and helpful. We didn't have anything smaller than a $20 so we didn't tip. Boy do you feel the "rath" from the two young guy by not tipping.... Ok ride for the money. They don't play music or make an effort to make the ride personable or fun. It was just meh compared to other boat rides we've done. They close their bathrooms before the tour even ends so be sure to go when you can or you'll be holding it until you get back on the shore. We sat at the front. I played some pandora bob Marley from my iPhone to have a shred of ambience. One of their employees said to turn it down because she couldn't here the tour guide on the loud speaker she was sitting under. I obliged. But the rest of the cruise she was talking and cackling so loudly carrying on with her girlfriends that it seemed odd that she scoffed at my little iPhone speaker when she was carrying on and obnoxiously louder over the speaker than my little iPhone. Price is high but it's to be expected when doing something so touristy. The views are nice and it was great being able to brave the cold up top and get warm downstairs. My issue that the staff working our boat were unapologetically ignorant and racist. When describing how Castillo San Marco was being built by enslaved Indigenous Americans the guide chose the words "helped by Indians", yeah okay "helped". At the end of the tour as I was tipping I mentioned that they should consider the verbiage Indigenous or Native Americans. I did so politely even though in 2017 to use the slur is a choice not an accident. I was met with blank stares by the short middle aged "guide" and the red haired boy working on the boat. They didn't even attempt to pretend they were capable of learning anything. read more

There are a lot of ways to tour St. Augustine, some are better than others. You can ride in a horse drawn carriage, putt around on a scooter or Segway, or take a walking tour. Having done most of those over the years, I have to say this is my favorite way so far. The cruise is $16.50 and lasts roughly an hour and a twenty minutes. The boat is a big double decker which leaves from the St. Augustine Municipal Marina. You can sit in the shade downstairs, or enjoy some sun at a table upstairs. There's a snack bar downstairs, as well as a crew member who will come around and take orders. I didn't eat anything, but beers are $3 and bottled waters are a buck. It's not really a party barge, but you could totally make it one at that price. The boat heads down the coastline for about 45 minutes with the captain explaining landmarks as they go by. I was just here to ride the boat, but there were some interesting facts about the bridge of lions and the 200 foot tall cross towering over the Matanzas bay. They don't go in to as much detail as a walking tour, they just sort of hit the highlights of what you can see from the boat along the coast line. I'm not sure if this is normal, but two dolphins approached our boat. The captain stopped to let people take pictures and gawk. All in all, this was probably the best tourist thing I've done in St. Augustine. It's fun and relaxing cruising around. read more

Nice ride! Scenic and relaxing. This is no thrills ride if you are looking for history take the trolley. Dogs are allowed and there is pplenty of seating on top and below. Only one opened this time of year so it was nice! It is metered parking so be aware! Bathroom Vessels are used my homeless as showers so beware. Everyone has a right but don't want to watch someone wash their feet in the sink! Super close to shops. read more

They were open the entire time, beginning to end, and were also clean. Very nice cruise experience. We were on board with an elementary school group but the staff made sure we were well aware of that and it was posted online as well. We wanted the sunset experience so we chose with full knowledge of the school group being on board. It was definitely not relaxing as they were non-stop but it is still a 5-star experience! The crew was very friendly and I highly recommend this experience! For anyone taking younger kids, it might be a little too long them. For me it was about the relaxation and being on the water. There's not a lot of "exciting" stuff to see so, at least the 5th graders on our excursion, were pretty board after about 30-40 minutes in. The cruise is 1 hour and 15 minutes. read more
