The gentlemen at the booth next to the cathedral was super sweet and gave a great lunch recommendation. We bought the Jail Tour and it's such a different experience seeing it during the day. It was definitely worth the cost. My favorite thing about OTT is that each driver adds their own flare. I will always recommend OTT if they're in a city that I visit.

He provided great tips and suggestions for places to eat or do more sightseeing. The tour lasted almost two hours! It was a long walk, out in the sun so you should bring a water bottle and hat. This wouldn't be a good activity for anyone who has mobility issues, but it was great for us. We all enjoyed ourselves and would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to explore St. Augustine.

This review is for the Christmas Light Tour…read more I had a very disappointing experience with St. Augustine Land and Sea Tours due to poor communication and a lack of integrity. I received a text message at 3:00 PM (sent at 1:15 PM, but not seen until later) stating that they were having mechanical issues with one of their carts and wanted to move my reservation to 8:00 PM. This did not work for me, as I cannot drive at night and the person driving me was unable to change his plans. They then asked if 6:30 PM would work, which I agreed to, but this change meant I now had to take an Uber since my driver had already made other arrangements. I requested a refund for the one person who could no longer attend due to their schedule change and was told the cancellation policy is 24 hours. I explained that the 24-hour policy should apply both ways, especially when the company is the one changing the reservation the day of the tour. To add to the confusion, I was then told I had been put back on my "original" time of 6:30 PM--however, my original reservation time was actually 7:30 PM. I would have gladly paid my $40 ticket and the additional $25 each way for Uber transportation if they had refunded the second ticket. However, paying $130 total just to look at Christmas lights is excessive. The fact that the company changed the schedule and still refused to refund the one ticket speaks volumes about their integrity. I highly do not recommend using this company for any tours.

Walking tour operator…read more I took the opportunity to join my kids school trip to St. Augustine as a chaperone and as part of that, the school engaged Ancient City Tours as our guide for the day. The guide we had was Matt. Matt with the hat to be exact- because, you guessed it, he wore a hat. Easy to find if you were lagging behind - and easy to remember. Matt and his Hat made the day memorable- he certainly knew a lot of the St. Augustine history and was able to keep all the group engaged- kids, adults and even the teachers. We took a group of 10-year-olds to St. Augustine last week and had a really mixed experience with…read moreour tour. Our guide, Cindra, just wasn't a great fit for kids--or honestly even for the adults in our group. She was very strict--expecting students to walk in perfectly straight single-file lines and not touch anything at all. I understand needing structure, but it felt unrealistic for 10-year-olds and came across as more harsh than helpful. At one point, the students were told they couldn't even touch the coquina stone the fort is built from, with the implication that they might damage it. That felt like overkill, considering the fort has been standing for over 400 years and has withstood hurricanes, cannon fire, and everything else--so a brief, supervised touch didn't seem unreasonable for a learning experience. Her tone also came across as sarcastic at times. On the second day, when students remembered information from the previous day, she responded with, "Wow, you were listening," which felt more dismissive than encouraging. What stood out even more was how she interacted with the adults. Parents were told they needed to ask permission to step away for something as simple as getting a coffee or using the restroom, and some were scolded when they didn't follow that expectation. That felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. I also overheard her making negative comments about a few of the boys in our group, which felt unprofessional. Because of all this, many of the students didn't enjoy the tour as much as they could have. On the flip side, the other half of our group had a different guide who was warm, engaging, and clearly knew how to work with kids--and it made a huge difference. St. Augustine is a great place for a field trip, but I'd definitely recommend asking about your guide ahead of time, especially if you're bringing students.
