Oh my gosh, everyone in our group agreed that the Gold Tours were the highlight of our most recent trip to St. Augustine. I was afraid that I was being a complete historian nerd and forgoing the humor of the Trolley tours and instead exposing my kids to what I hoped would be a true history lesson, but thankfully a Peter Gold made it fun and interesting. A little on Mr. Gold, he is an avid runner, British native and an avid historian who seemed to be known wherever we went. He is very active not only in the historic community, but is also involved in archeology digs in the area and the findings of sea excavation off the nearby coast. He also told us a special project he is working on that is using drone technology to show the history of the fort and surrounding area that intended for use by area schools. The tour had more factual information on the area that Mr. Gold explains with original pictures and documents that make the tour come alive. His three rowed golf cart fit our party comfortably and he was easy to hear even as we weaves in and out of traffic. Even though I have lived in the area over twenty years, he showed me sites that I never would have found on my own, nor had I ever heard before. He also dispelled some myths about the area and focused just not on the early history of St. Augustine, but also detailed things like Civil Rights, Native Americans in the area and recent construction. I could have stayed another hour picking his brain and having a discussion with him. Besides all the information, he gave us ideas on additional tours and places to go. There was also an option to go back to the original tour start or being dropped at another venue. Overall, could not be happier with this your.

RED TOUR 90 MIN TOUR, Wonderful way to really SEE St Augustine, 90 min or stop off at any 22 stops and get back on. Stop and visit each location, amazing information, foods, galleries, wine tasting and chocolate tastings are some of the possibilities! 450 years of history, takes MORE then a day, so plan on staying in this area at least 4 or 5 days.

First time ever booking a historical tour in any city but always rely heavily on Yelp to steer me in the right direction with excursions. I am thankful my children and I made time for our city tour with Tom. After our first tour got cut short due to a downpour of rain Tom wouldn't accept my payment and found a way for us to come back the next evening to do this tour so he could truly finish and show us more of the city. Rain hit us again the second day but Tom graciously allowed us to ride with him in his personal vehicle so we wouldn't be drenched a second time. For my impatient 9 year old to give his undivided attention two evenings in a row to listen to Tom tell us about the history of St Augustine speaks volumes. My 13 year old daughter was very engaged as well. We all asked a million questions and Tom was a walking wealth of knowledge when it comes to the city. Book this company. The reviewers are spot on. I'm thankful I am leaving my vacation with more than a nice tan...I feel like I learned a lot from someone who is a great guide. Thank you Tom...we enjoyed it! Randi, Alena and Xavier

Peter Gold gave 7of us our most interesting and informative tour of the city. He tailored the tour to our interest in the different architectural styles in the city. The hour and a half went quickly as he drove us around in an electric mini-bus. Highly recommended.

We boarded at approximately 8:50 AM, rode around, got off, and experienced some cool sights like the old fort, the Old City Jail, St. George Street, and the Torture Museum. Every time we go to a city with one of these trolley tours, we always take them. It's a historical trip guided by knowledgeable, polite, and friendly drivers. You get to hear from local experts about the history of the city as you drive around, saving yourself the long, hot walks. The hop-on hop-off feature is very convenient, and a trolley comes around every 15 minutes. This gives you time to get off, look around, and have only a short wait to jump on another one. Tickets cost approximately $33 per person and are highly recommended.

The trams pass by every 15 minutes, so little time is spent waiting. There is a lot of history in this little town so it is well worth the visit. Our tram guide was very knowledgeable but I was somewhat overwhelmed by her presentation because it was absolutely non-stop. I was wishing she wouldd take a breath now and then. Be aware that there are two persons per seat. You cannot commandeer a whole seat for backpacks etc.

Getting this activity 'on the books' was more than aggravating, to say the least. The tasting tour…read moresays that to text them is a quicker option for response to inquiries (for them.) It most definitely didn't seem that way! They DID get back to me via text, but it wasn't in a quick fashion. I'd say an semi-acceptable fashion (within 8-12 hours.) Regardless, we DID get our event scheduled for a private tour with (15 people.) It was quite an expensive 'private tour' of the night of lights that was explained to me as tho the grinch (driving one trolly) and Santa (driving another trolly) would interact with one another (more than minimally) and make the tour exclusive to all 15 of us. They would hop off one trolly and interact with the passengers of the other trolly, etc. In reality, it was NOT a collective tour. The grinch separated from the other trolly and it was essentially two separate tours. Approximately 3-4 times they interacted with one another (acting as tho one would hit the other's trolly, yelling insults at Santa, responding to the grinch, and stopping at the 'duck bar' for the ambush together.) The address to initially meet at is kind of hard to find, even with GPS, as well! There is NO indication of 'the tasting tours' business name on the store front at the address. It is a Cuban bakery.' YES, we all had a good time.... But I don't want the rest of you that book a 'private' tour to be mislead or pay for something you won't receive. *** I also find it distasteful that the company charges an unprecedented amount of money for the trolly rides and then has the audacity to send an email asking for further tip for the trolly drivers.*** Whether a patron tips or not is up to them, not a business owner requesting it!
