St Augustine is known during the holidays for what National Geographic stated is one of the best Holiday light displays in the country. The "Night of Lights" as they call it is something thousands or maybe millions of tourist come to see each year. The parking garage near the visitor center if fully accessible and free for those with a handicapped placard even on these very busy nights. My suggestion is to arrive no later than 5pm for parking. The actual visitor center is very accessible and has the most helpful staff. When we arrived there was time before our Trolley tour of the lights to catch dinner and of some shopping. Imagine my surprise that even in a historic area the accessibility was horrific! Most of the establishments have at least one step at all entrances and no one has bothered to even put out a portable ramp for wheelchairs. Accessibility should NEVER be an afterthought and yet here it is even considered. I have written the City management to ask why and if a plan is in place to correct these blatant ADA violations. I even asked one store why and all the staff just shook their heads and apologized. With only one step surely they could put a ramp! Three different I e cream places near the visitor center was complete inaccessible. I left disgusted and didn't even want to see the lights but since this was a family event I decided to make the best of it. The trolley tour was nice but the music was terribly loud and the y didn't stop anywhere for pictures as the brochure had stated. Again accessibility was an afterthought. ONLY ONE accessible spot in the back of the first car, and only 2 others could fit in my row so if my other son had come with us we would have had to break up the group. The ramp for the trolley was an older model and let you off into the street instead of the curbside. Not safe but thankfully they had staff assisting. Overall very very disappointed because aside from the actual visitor center most of this City is inaccessible which inn2025 is unacceptable! Maybe the City Manager will respond to my email???!!! Let's hope so.

We stopped in recently to use their restrooms after parking next door at the parking garage before heading over to the food festival at the park. It was filled with tons of local history and a ton of information about the area plus it has a bunch of gifts and souvenirs to purchase. It's a very nice information center! Enjoy :D

Tony and I went to St Augustine Florida while on Vacay 2022. Tony had never been here before, but I have been to St Augustine several times in the past with my kids and other family members. We walked down to the visitors center from our hotel. The visitors center is free to enjoy. There are restrooms, gift shop, informational brochures and museum displays. It's very nice. Very clean and lovely, absolutely lovely!!!

The Visitor Information Center is a valuable resource to help plan your day!

We stopped in here when we first arrived in St. Augustine after parking in the city owned parking garage located next door. I'm so glad we stopped in! This visitor center is awesome! Besides having clean and spacious restrooms, there is a great overview of the history of the city and interesting displays and artifacts to look at. Even a gift shop to shop in. And, they have printed maps you can take with you as you set off to explore the city on foot!

Interior of a museum exhibit dedicated to the First Spanish Colonial Period (1565-1763), with display cases containing artifacts, informational panels on yellow walls, and a banner hanging from the ceiling with a red and white emblem and text. The space has wooden floors, high arched windows, and ceiling lighting.

Start Here! Founded in 1565, St Augustine is oldest continuously-inhabited European-established settlement in the United States, so it is no exaggeration when I say there is a lot to see in this town! Unless you do your homework before you make the trip and come prepared, you may miss a few must or see locations. That is why St Augustine Visitor Information Center (VIC) should be on your list of places to visit on day one! The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming and they are very helpful with all the information visitors may need. Depending on the time of the year one may be visiting, there may be very helpful information about special and/or cultural events you can access. You can also get a lot of helpful information on tours, museums, restaurants and more. The visitor center itself has a few interesting exhibits, a good gift shop and most importantly, very clean restrooms!! So do not miss on any good information, and make VIC where your St. Augustine visit begins!

Big bathroom is nice and clean.

Beautiful old building. Very friendly staff anxious to help you enjoy your time in town. A gift shop. You definitely must stop here before wandering around town to get a map and 'must do' information from a local. Large clean restrooms inside and a parking garage with a flat fee of fifteen dollars, paid at entry.

For a Visitor's Center, it great! Not only for Visitor's information, but in addition, a Museum of sorts as well, and a very nice gift shop. You need to stop here.

St Augustine Visitor Center is one of the finest visitor centers that I've seen. This must be your first stop in this historic landmark city to learn what to see, where to get tickets and get background on the history of the area. We came back for a second visit, there was so much to see. First, parking is a bear. There is a parking garage adjacent to the center but costs $15/day, so if you are just there for a half hour, not worth it. We parked over near the antique district where there was free parking and walked. There is also metered parking near the fort if you arrive early. The visitor center is across the street from the fort. The building itself is a work of art. Spanish in style with mosaics and sculptured art surrounding. The grounds and inside are immaculate and welcoming. St Augustine knows how to treat visitors. The center has a great display of ships, artifacts and even fossils from the area. On our second visit, there was a live demonstration of spinning yarn and our granddaughter was invited to spin. What a blast! There is an information stand and lots of brochures for various sites. The staff is knowledgable and helpful. The gift shop has lots of local and themed merchandise. There are nice restroom facilities and a few benches the rest your feet.

Friendly, helpful employees. Had a great conversation about lighthouse souvenirs and wish for one showing success of making it to the top.

This was a nice and sizable visitor center. I'm used to seeing just a couple of racks of brochures (and not much else) at these types of places. There are various historical displays inside, so if that appeals to you I would budget 15 minutes for browsing. I did notice a tiny gift shop inside selling pricey goods. Explorer's passports are sold here as well. There were ample amounts of restrooms here as well. This is a good spot to get help with any touristy questions.

This is the first place you see when you come out of the visitor parking lot. When you first walk towards the building there's a beautiful mural on the ground and info stands to tell a little history of St. Augustine to start you off! It's a great information center! There's lots of handouts to help you find your way through St. Augustine, and also cool tours you can take! There's PUBLIC restrooms located in this building that you can use. These bathrooms are pretty much the only public bathrooms that I know of other than if you're in a store or restaurant throughout the city. There's a nice gift shop inside to the left which such cute trinkets you can take with you! The building is very clean as well as the bathrooms. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and ready to help you on your stay in St. Augustine!

An absolutely wonderful visitor center, located right next to the parking garage in downtown Saint Augustine. You park your car in the garage, pay your $15, and then once you exit the garage you have the option to go straight into the visitor center, or make a right and go into downtown. I recommend you go inside to the visitor center. It is like a mini museum. It has artifacts from all of the historical eras of St. Augustine. Starting in 1585, leading up to the present day. Of course there is a wonderful little gift shop off to the side. You could pick up a last-minute gift, a book, a snack, or something to drink. The visitor center is also good if you need a bathroom break. Now that I know how close this visitor center/parking garage is, I would use it more frequently on future trips to Saint Augustine.

Free water refill stations were available and stay hydrated messages posted frequently on the jumbo TVs Too long to get in with airport level security and restrictions on almost everything (no chairs, no coolers, no bags over 12x6, no backpacks and so on...)
