It most definitely didn't seem that way! They DID get back to me via text, but it wasn't in a quick fashion. I'd say an semi-acceptable fashion (within 8-12 hours.) Regardless, we DID get our event scheduled for a private tour with (15 people.) It was quite an expensive 'private tour' of the night of lights that was explained to me as tho the grinch (driving one trolly) and Santa (driving another trolly) would interact with one another (more than minimally) and make the tour exclusive to all 15 of us. They would hop off one trolly and interact with the passengers of the other trolly, etc. In reality, it was NOT a collective tour. The grinch separated from the other trolly and it was essentially two separate tours. Approximately 3-4 times they interacted with one another (acting as tho one would hit the other's trolly, yelling insults at Santa, responding to the grinch, and stopping at the 'duck bar' for the ambush together.) The address to initially meet at is kind of hard to find, even with GPS, as well! There is NO indication of 'the tasting tours' business name on the store front at the address. It is a Cuban bakery.' YES, we all had a good time.... But I don't want the rest of you that book a 'private' tour to be mislead or pay for something you won't receive. *** I also find it distasteful that the company charges an unprecedented amount of money for the trolly rides and then has the audacity to send an email asking for further tip for the trolly drivers.*** Whether a patron tips or not is up to them, not a business owner requesting it!

And I wasn't about to call out of work since my job was right around the corner. I have been on a few tours but haven't seen many tour guides this knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the place they are presenting. Gary, our tour guide and the president of this company, was dressed in costume as Andrew Jackson, whom the city was named after. Did you know he was state governor? Me neither. The tour my son and I attended was the Tuesday tour which takes you to a rooftop view as well as the underground view in a tunnel and underground vault. Sadly the restaurant in the tunnel and the top floor cafe in the bank of america building were no longer there (but good thing I took my son to both places years ago!), but we still go to learn tons about the city and saw some cool places. We went to a rooftop restaurant with a gorgeous view of the river. It was on a day that it was closed, so the tour group had the place to ourselves. Afterwards, we went downstairs and down into tunnels from one building to another. In one of the tunnels, we went to an underground vault only accessible through the tour. The door to the vault was still functional. It was really cool to open it and see some historic documents inside, and then surprisingly a fallout shelter! Along the path, we discussed some historical photos and learned about the changes in the city throughout the decades as well as some interesting historical tidbits, such as the city's previous life as the hub of movie industry during the silent era. Afterwards, we checked out some of the murals by James Weldon Johnson Park (named after the civil rights activist and writer) and learned about the original sculpture that inspired one of the murals. The sculpture "Lift Every Voice and Sing," named after the James Weldon Johnson poem, was created by the local artist Augusta Savage from Green Cove Springs. I really appreciate the inclusion black historical residents on this tour. This is something that history books rarely mention. Great tour, super informative, fun and interesting. I look forward to trying one of the other tours in the future.

Wow, we had so much fun! Captain Howard and his crew, Jess, Jamie, and Shelby were just fantastic. They made us feel welcome and special. They serve beer, wine, sodas, and margaritas on this cruise. The margaritas were amazing. While sailing around, we got close to the lighthouse and downtown and we actually did see dolphins! This was a relaxing 90 minute cruise on a beautiful day. When the cruise was done, we ate at Beaches restaurant in the marina, per Captain Howard's recommendation. While sitting there having an early dinner, we were talking about the sunset cruise that they had mentioned that started at 6 o'clock. More people, live band, and you get to see the sunset. And it was an extra 30 minutes. We had so much fun on the daytime cruise. We decided to book the sunset cruise as well! That was a whole different vibe. A lot more people and lively entertainment. While it was fun and the sunset was amazing I think I prefer the daytime one. Not as many people and more intimate with the crew or whoever you are with. Thank you to Captain Howard and the crew for making this a very special day for my husband and I. And they gave us a special shout out during the sunset cruise for our 18 year anniversary that we were celebrating!
