Regardless, we DID get our event scheduled for a private tour with (15 people.) It was quite an expensive 'private tour' of the night of lights that was explained to me as tho the grinch (driving one trolly) and Santa (driving another trolly) would interact with one another (more than minimally) and make the tour exclusive to all 15 of us. They would hop off one trolly and interact with the passengers of the other trolly, etc. In reality, it was NOT a collective tour. The grinch separated from the other trolly and it was essentially two separate tours. Approximately 3-4 times they interacted with one another (acting as tho one would hit the other's trolly, yelling insults at Santa, responding to the grinch, and stopping at the 'duck bar' for the ambush together.) The address to initially meet at is kind of hard to find, even with GPS, as well! There is NO indication of 'the tasting tours' business name on the store front at the address. It is a Cuban bakery.' YES, we all had a good time.... But I don't want the rest of you that book a 'private' tour to be mislead or pay for something you won't receive. *** I also find it distasteful that the company charges an unprecedented amount of money for the trolly rides and then has the audacity to send an email asking for further tip for the trolly drivers.*** Whether a patron tips or not is up to them, not a business owner requesting it!

This is not a tour where you get a thimble of the house bourbon and move on. We had the Florida Straight, the Toasted, and The Saint at the distillery. A Town Branch single barrel at Forgotten Tonic that was their own store pick at 121 proof, plus a Sagamore cask strength rye. Then a four-glass flight at Mojo alongside burnt ends and onion rings: Maker's Private Select, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof, Four Roses Single Barrel, and an Old Forester Barrel Strength single barrel that was good enough we ordered another pour of it. Russ knows the whiskey and he knows the town, and he reads the group well enough to know when to teach and when to get out of the way. The walking between stops is easy and the pacing gives you time to sit. If you're a local who thinks you've already done St. Augustine, book it anyway. You have not had these bottles. The entire tour pace was perfect, we didn't stay too long or too short at any of our spots. We visited a local wine shop, had some barbecue, had some great drinks and some excellent desserts and a few other surprises. We did all of this while learning some very interesting history about Saint Augustine. At the very end of the Torr Alex, the owner of the Torr company was going to a local art gallery and invited us to join him which we did. Overall, a great experience and I highly recommend.

The tuktuk was ready with a cooler filled with champagne, sangria and water (that we ordered as add-ons to our tour). She gave us a set of headphones and a speaker we could wear around our necks, so we could hear her narration clearly over the traffic. Our two hour tour was chock full of sights and sites! Every time we go to a city with one of these trolley tours, we always take them. It's a historical trip guided by knowledgeable, polite, and friendly drivers. You get to hear from local experts about the history of the city as you drive around, saving yourself the long, hot walks. The hop-on hop-off feature is very convenient, and a trolley comes around every 15 minutes. This gives you time to get off, look around, and have only a short wait to jump on another one. Tickets cost approximately $33 per person and are highly recommended.
