During our recent stay at Timber Cove we enjoyed our breakfasts at Coast Kitchen. We tried the French Toast snd several egg dishes. All were tasty and well seasoned. Service was attentive and not intrusive, which allowed us time to take in the ocean view while we planned out how to spend our day. We remember fondly how the delicious coffee was served and reflect back with appreciation on how we were provided the luxury of a leisurely breakfast. read more

The menu has unexpected gems like the Buttermilk Brined Fried Quail with carmelized onions and Dungeness Crab Beignets. I am in love with this earthy dish - Seared Ahi Tuna with cannellini beans, local wild mushrooms and fingerling potatoes! But don't miss the gigantic Seared Day Boat Scallops... (sharing is caring). The killer wine list is worthy of its Sonoma Coast address and features beautiful Hirsch Wines which you can't get unless you're a wine club member. Only giving three stars because the variety of food is highly lacking. The only "normal" food, even at the bar, is a hamburger. How about adding biscuits and gravy for breakfast? Fish and chips for lunch? Salad with chicken or salmon for dinner? Or hand- made pizza? My husband and I have been to Timber Cove twice; once during their soft re-grand opening last year and just recently for three nights. We had to search for and drive a while for a place to eat besides the hotel restaurant two out of the three nights because the menu was disappointing. Chef, have comfort food at the bar, and your eclectic menu for the restaurant! read more

Tonight, we had our first meal at the newly reopened Timber Cove Coast Kitchen restaurant. OUTSTANDING! ! The major remodel is spot on. They kept the best and refreshed the rest! Kudos to the new owners. Kudos to Gensler in charge of the re-do. Big kudos to Mr. Kaufman who hit it out of the park with his fresh, locally sourced menu. We had the Creekstone dry-aged ribeye steak and the 18 hour slow cooked beef short rib. Local Wild Hog Pinot Noir... WOW...is all we can say! Beautifully presented, Alisha was our server...utterly charming! Even the flatware and dishes were so befitting of a world-class property. I'm seriously torn about this place. First, its a bit out of the way to get to (30 minutes north of Jenner). And when we got there.(with a reservation for the time we arrived), it wasn't the most welcoming into I've ever encountered "Wait at the top of the stairs until we get to you." The pacing of the first course was way off, 45 minutes for oysters, a salad and the cheese plate. Then another 35 minutes for the entrees. So why am I waffling on the review? We really liked Coast Kitchen during our stay at Timber Cove. Dinner service was fantastic (don't recall the name of our waiter, redheaded guy - super nice!). We really enjoyed the Aeronatical cocktail and the Gamba Zin the group shared during the meal. Definitely get the poutine off the lounge menu, as well as the crab beignets. I had the steak for dinner, which came with bone marrow and a slightly odd-looking crispy square stuffed with broccoli. The meal was good but desperate for a fresh vegetable (I was expecting the broccoli to be roasted simply). Retrospectively, I would have ordered the scallops. The swordfish was also very good. Order the butterscotch pot de creme to finish; the chocolate chip cookie/milk combo isn't worth your time or the calories. Breakfast was almost better than dinner. Love the corned beef hash (I think the best I have ever had, though you won't need to eat lunch and maybe dinner too) and the duck confit omelette with caramelized onions and goat cheese. I've eaten here couple of times now. It definitely didn't impress me, and at our last experience, the waitress did not even bother to ask if we enjoyed our food, which we obviously did not since we both took one bite of our food and did not eat any more... The fried chicken was covered in honey and my halibut and carrots were so heavily spiced, I could not eat them. There is not any competition so clearly they did not really care. read more

I would love to say that I could rate the food, but we never got to that point. As we walked in, the sign said to have a seat and we did. Fifteen minutes later, none of the 3 waitresses who had walked in and out of the dining room made any contact with us whatsoever. We decided to go to the bar to see if we could just order some food to go. The bartender was nice and gave us a bar menu, but unforunately that menu did not really have any food to take away. Neither of the bartenders came back to see if we wanted to order or ask if we wanted anything else. Put cash on the bar to pay for the one beer I had and left. My boyfriend and I dined here for breakfast and dinner during our stay at Timber Cove. Dinner service was much better than breakfast service, but nothing that ruined our experience. For dinner we just ordered off the lounge menu. They had so many different options that we wanted to try them all. Their crab beignets were not so much what I consider a "beignet" but still very good. Drink selection was good, and they had beers that were all pretty local which I enjoy. Breakfast was just as enjoyable. My boyfriend had the Crab Benedict and said it was really good. I am also not one to usually order a Bloody Mary, but I'm glad I did because it was surprisingly so good! Try to make your reservation for dinner for an early time so you can get sat by the window and watch the sunset! read more

Came here for a snack to hold us off before dinner, we didn't want to eat too much so we wanted to share a dish. We decided on the lobster mac and cheese. Smelt like dog food, and honestly didn't taste like anything special. The waitress was extremely condescending and rude to us the entire time and was treating my boyfriend and I like children. What because we ordered the mac and cheese and we're sharing it? So unprofessional and unnecessary. We had dinner reservations at the same restaurant because we are staying at the Timber Cove Resort, but we changed our minds and I definitely will never come back to this restaurant. Stayed at the Timber Cove resort, and had both dinner and breakfast here. The food was delicious! Breakfast was simple eggs and bacon, with homemade jams on the side. Biggest breakfast I've eaten in a long time. Dinner: scallops were great. My wife had the short rib pasta dish, and it made me jealous - very unique and entirely delicious. read more

The food at Coast Kitchen was phenomenal! We had the tuna tartare, caesar salad, smoked chicken, the 21-day aged rib eye, and some locally made gelato. Everything from start to finish, including the warm bread was well-prepared, well-plated, and delicious. On top of it all, Amber, and the rest of the staff took such good care of us throughout our meal which really made our stay at Timber Cove Resort great. Coast Kitchen is definitely worth trying if you're in the Jenner/Sea Ranch area, even if you're staying somewhere else! read more

Great pecan waffles for breakfast. The mushroom bruschetta was delicious too for a snack. And the flat iron steak lunch was very tender and cooked perfectly. The fries were good too. The scallops for dinner were large and nicely cooked. However, the accompaniments were small and rather bland. The salmon was well prepared also, but could have had a sauce or more tasty accompaniments. The baby gem lettuce salad included figs and peaches and goat cheese, and was nice. The wait staff was very gracious, but the room is very casual and noisy for dinner. read more

Quaint restaurant located inside Timber Cove Inn with beautiful views of the ocean and surrounding cliffs. I had high expectations after reading the reviews and looking at the menu. Would definitely recommend making reservations as it is a small restaurant and seems to fill up quickly. Sadly, my guest and I sat for about 10 minutes without being acknowledged even though there were several staff members circling around. I understand they were busy, but a simple greeting or 'I'll be with you shortly' is always appreciated. The wine list had some nice choices by the bottle and by the glass. We started out with the mussel appetizer which was bland and disappointing. I ordered the short rib for my main course and it was delicious- my partner ordered the ribeye and loved every bite. The pot of creme dessert was also delicious. Overall, A bit overpriced but a nice place for a romantic dinner. read more

Fabulous dining experience. Beautiful location, ocean view table, and great food. We had calamari, and the cheese plate as appetizers, and halibut and Ahi Tuna for our entrees. Bryan and his Italian intern assistant were friendly, attentive, and delivered a perfect special occasion experience. The maitre'd and food and beverage manager both visited our table at different times to make sure we were happy. Our selection from the dessert menu had to include the "coffee show", and it was the grand finale to an absolutely perfect evening. Bravo! Five Stars. Thank you, and we'll see you again. read more

I was reading today's newspaper and was exuberant to see Timber Cove Resort's own restaurant voted one of Sonoma County's Best Restaurants by food critics. The secret is out! Congratulations Coast Kitchen, you absolutely deserve it. Best dining on the Northern California Coast, for sure. read more

Ate here for dinner Apr 2019. I ordered the Braised Short Rib ($30). My girlfriend ordered the Pan Seared Halibut ($32) recommended by the waitress. Keep in mind these prices are for the main dish only, sides are $10 ea. The Rib tasted 'ok' but certainly not worth the price. The halibut however was overcooked and dry in the middle and hard on the outside. We sent it back. The waitress did bring her a cup of chowder, it was over salted but she was starving and ate it. 20 min later the 2nd halibut finally came out (my dish got cold as we waited). Again the halibut was overcooked and dry in the middle and hard on the outside. We sent it back and said we were done. While my girlfriend was in the bathroom, the waitress came out and offered us dessert on the house. We were both still hungry so ordered some. The desserts were below average and certainly not worth the $10 ea. we would have paid. When the bill came, the desserts were comped, but the halibut was on it! We asked the waitress to remove the halibut, which she did, but then she charged us for the desserts! We then asked to speak to the manager, who turned out to be the hostess. She protested and said that we had been served the halibut twice. I told that either the 'halibut' was frozen (which I suspect it was, maybe even frozen cod instead of halibut) or the chef had no idea how to cook fish. She 'threatened' to bring her manager down if would prefer to talk to 'him'. I called her bluff and said please do. She protested more but finally 'huffed' and unhappily removed the halibut from the bill. A word to the 'manager': if you are going to charge high prices for your food, you had better have high quality and excellent service to match. You can't just gouge people because you think you're the only game in town. read more

Had Christmas dinner here when we stayed at the lodge and I'm sorry to say it was very disappointing and over priced. This is the third year we have stayed at Timber Cove for Christmas and we will not return for dinner there next year. read more
