Was promptly seen by Dr. Vorster and had my vision checked by the latest and greatest optometry equipment. In fact I have never had my eyes checked with digital microscopic read outs like these at other optometry facilities I have been to in the past. I think it was called OCT and Dr. Vorster was able to check the thickness of my retina and showed me the layers of the retina. I received my diagnosis and my concerns were relieved. Dr. Vorster suggested I follow up with a retina specialist to be extra careful and the ophthalmologist agreed fully with his diagnosis and prognosis. Have since been getting my prescription distance driving and sunglasses over the past several years at Dr. Vorster and Dr. Gilman's office and the selection is premium. Dr. Gilman is awesome too as she has rechecked my vision a few times over several years to ensure my eye glass power is appropriate and always helps me find the right fit. Their staff is super kind too. They never rush me, letting me take as long as I want to pick out frames. I always feel bad about checking out all the different great looking frames, since I have a tough time choosing. They just reassure me stating, "we want you to get the absolute best pair of glasses so you will love them and be super happy". True enough, as other glasses I have bought online or at big box shops tend to get loose and floppy, have the lens pop out, or even break. You can't beat the selection and you get to pick any kind of lens you prefer. My favorite lens are the rapid shade transitions that allow me to run and hike in the full sun and then go directly indoors without skipping a beat. My glasses are super high quality - you just feel it when you put them on. You will love visiting Dr. Gilman, Dr. Vorster and their wonderful staff!

He showed me the inside of my eyeballs and explained everything going on with my eyesight. He even explained how my medication also helps widen the veins in my eyes to get blood flowing there. We talked about how my vision affects me at work, daily life and what type of lenses suited my needs. Dr. Voster also recommended some eye drops to help with the dryness. He escorted me to another side of the office that was where the glasses were. They have a decent selection. The person that helped me gave me recommendations and broke down costs. Overall it was a great experience, but just an FYI - it was a bit of a sticker shock with the kind of lenses I got. I got the ones where I can see far when driving and have readers for close up. Personally, I should have just got regular glasses and bought some readers separately. Lol I say consider this place as an option. They are truly a great staff with excellent services - and the costs reflect that. That may be a little more than one anticipates. To give u an idea, exam + eyeball thing + frames + lenses... Dr Donovan saw him on a Friday late afternoon (4:30) and after 5 p.m. managed to set him up to see a retinal specialist in Redlands the very next morning, Saturday! (And that guy was awesome, too, Dr Jason Chow.) By Monday, surgery was all set up for Monday afternoon. That way there would be no further detachment of my husband's retina, which was already two-thirds detached. It was really great teamwork, even though we had to drive to Redlands; but it was worth it because my husband received such excellent care. Just recently, I went to have a pair of glasses adjusted. The receptionist was EXTREMELY RUDE and VERY CONDESCENDING and she was very rough with my glasses and they were snapping and crackling and she and broke them! I told her to be very careful as she was twisting and turning them and I started getting very upset at the way she was handling them and I heard all these popping noises and she said, "Don't worry about it- I know what I'm doing!!! I've handled glasses before!!!" Well obviously she didn't, because she broke my only pair of glasses! I was livid and extremely upset! Then she also was very rude to me and no apologies whatsoever. She then said, "You have to wait and see the doctor and see if he can fix them." Then she turned around and walked away smirking. I was so upset, but I sat down and waited for about 15 minutes and then decided to just walk out! Now, I have to get a new pair of glasses because this idiot manhandled them and broke them!!!
