I have a pair of beloved plastic frames that both my optometrist's office and Walmart said could not get new lenses, due to age. I ordered some RayBan frames and took them and my prescription to Affordable Optics. Carla said, "I like the ones you're wearing better." I said "Me too!!!" and told her my tale of woe. She literally said, "Pffffft." They easily put new lenses in the old frames. I have since had two other pairs of glasses made by them--both with vintage frames. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. They really should be called Luxury Optics.

And Dr. Ho stands out as one of the good ones. It was a good experience all around. I had frames that were not very old and then had cataract surgery and wanted to use those old frames. They did not try to upsell me. They gave me what I wanted ; in the time I wanted. And, my prescription is spot on. The only difficulty I had was in making an appointment online. Apparently, they no longer use that form. Call the office directly!

I called multiple times and left several voicemails, but it took about three weeks to get a response from the doctor (via a staff member). When I heard back, I was told to use eye drops and "blink more to rotate the contacts," which felt dismissive given I've worn contacts for over 20 years. I should have been brought in for a re-exam or evaluation after the first concerning call. That was never remotely offered. I paid out of pocket to see another doctor, who suggested the prescription was too strong and not appropriate for my eyes. He shook his head when I showed him the measurements. Very disappointing experience and even poorer follow-up care.

He said I needed a prism lens since I had a "lazy eye" issue as a kid (55 years ago mind you!) and those eye muscles turned my eye a slightly different way causing blurriness. He was 100% right. Incredibly knowledgeable and wonderful personality to boot. His team is great too - very attentive to every detail. I will be a customer for life.
