Everything went well from check in to my exam and updating my prescription. Brittany helped me. I had some Tiffany frames I wanted to update with new lenses, I had broken frames, they swapped my sunglasses prescription into new frames and put together new clear glasses. They had gorgeous frames to choose from, if you need frames. Highly recommend. read more

I will never go back to this store .They will say they take your insurance and then charge you individual up charges above what's covered to make it worthwhile so for a standard pair of frames and lenses they charged me a 100 dollars and then the frames broke and I brought them in the first time and they fixed it and then when I brought them in the next time 3 weeks later they wanted to know if I had insurance on breakage .A reputable store would have replaced the frames .It is better to stick with Costco as they have a guarantee no questions asked and replace your frames and smile .Avoid this shop unless you live to spend hundreds of dollars . read more

Absolutely the worst experience we have ever had with an optometrist. Buyer beware - this is not a local company, though it looks like it. They cannot solve any issues without going to "corporate", whoever that is. They 1) billed the wrong insurance without our consent, never using the proper insurance 2) collected $795 from us without providing anything more than an eye exam, and 3) have yet to refund us for the their mistakes. The manager is absolutely incapable of problem solving, never said sorry and poorly handles the mistakes she has made. We now play the waiting game for them to reimburse us for their error and they have told us they have no idea when we will receive a check. The optometrist is great, but the staff cannot handle the simplest of tasks. Do not select this vendor if you want a good experience. Just another big box company staging to look like a small, boutique. read more

I needed an eye check, so instead of Costco I made an appointment with Old Town Optix yesterday. What a pleasant experience! The eye examination took about 1 hour, they were very attentive, precise. Especially the doctor, she went through everything, explained all the test results. The only problem was, she found cataracts in both of my eyes, so probably I'll have an operation..She promised to send the test results to Kaiser, so I can get it done hopefully soon. I also looked around for glasses, incredible selection, beautiful displays, well designed, organized. Parking is excellent, I love Old Town shopping, restaurants, this is a hidden gem, very relaxing experience. read more

I took a fall near downtown La Quinta recently. Among other things, my glasses were damaged...a lenses came out and the frame was damaged. We were near Old Town Optix and Optometry and walked in. They could not have been more sympathetic or helpful. The optician was able to get the lens back in the frame and make an excellent temporary repair to the frame that has enabled me to wear the glasses until I can get a new pair. I was taken care of immediately and there was no charge. These folks went way above and beyond to help me in a moment of difficulty and I am greatly appreciative. Highly recommended. read more

If you want high-quality, on-trend frames, this is the only place to go in the Valley. I can't say enough good things about this place! Firstly, Roberta is amazing!! While the frames are the best in the desert in terms of style..., without Roberta's expert help I'd not have been able to pick out the right frames for me. Also...I never get the right Rx from my ophthalmologist so got my Rx reviewed by the doc/optician there. She did a perfect job adjusting it so the correction fits like a glove. Then, Roberta did a masterful job of measuring and positioning the lenses (progressives) so I no longer need a separate pair of business/computer lenses. I have a long neck, so typical adjustments cause neck and shoulder strain. All three--yes, I bought three pairs of glasses from OTO&O!--are perfectly comfortable at my computer and all day long. After 3 months of trying and failing to get my new lens into my favorate Silhouette frames, they failed. The lens were too thick, the perscription was wrong twice, the first perscription was wrong had to redo exam again #4. They took the lens from the frame and said get lost. Now I have no glasses. They damaged the right temple, pulled it into 2 pieces. Change the nose picece to a different color & bigger without asking. Three (3) months to get lens and nothing. Worst service ever for a store in a high class La Quinta area. read more

Called in to find out if they're accepting new patients. They are, which was exciting news, until I found out they don't accept Medi-Cal health insurance. Then it became very unfortunate news. Kelly, the lady whom I spoke to on the phone, said that they were "not set up to accept that insurance." I wonder what it takes to get set up and why it has not been done yet. I was looking forward to experiencing the top-notch service most of the other reviews claim to have gotten at the only location within 5 miles of my house. My family went to Optix of La Quinta for years then it moved to Old Town. My family continued to use them even though as a Palm Desert resident it was a bit of a drive. Unfortunately, when my eighteen year old was getting ready to to college in Canada she went to order her contacts on August 17 and they never told her that if she waited til sept. they would be covered by the insurance. I came here for my first appointment for my husband and I. I was not greeted by Kelly when entering and there was NO customers inside. I had to greet her. She called that morning to tell me she can't find my eligibility. They had my name spelled completely wrong.... then I get to my appt at 9:10. When booking the appt. I was told by the person who spelled my name Kami, that my appt is at 9:30. Wrote it down in my calendar. So I am thinking I am early when arriving at 9:10. Kelly proceeds with an attitude...still not saying hi or good morning.... her first words were your late. I will see your husband who's appt is at 9:30.
