What a wonderful experience! My glasses broke due to a collision with my 50 lb. dog, and David, in the front office, was incredibly helpful. He saved the day! Dr Blaurock is kind, thorough and informative. His staff is well trained and I can't say enough about Maryann who helped me with my glasses and prescription. Her advice with fit and lenses was such an improvement over my previous optometrists office. I had been struggling with my glasses for a while and she took care of it all. Took my VSP insurance. I had what I thought was a very thorough exam with modern equipment. I then ordered glasses though this office. When I tried them on I could not read signs in the parking lot just outside of the office. The vision was so bad I didn't even leave the store with the glasses, and got a refund. I went elsewhere to get glasses and the prescription was fine. However, a year later I tried to make another exam appointment and I found I was "blacklisted" and they would not see me because I would not accept the glasses they made for me the prior year. Had they even tried to figure out what was wrong this may have ended on a better note. However, this treatment is unacceptable. I have never had a new pair of glasses with which I could not see properly in my 70 years, so I'm not really a "picky" or "complainer" type. read more

I am so grateful to Dr. Blaurock and his wonderful team. My son needed a pair of emergency contacts.. he did not have any and he could not see well enough to drive. Ok. The staff is professional and friendly. However, I went back twice with glasses that were not correct. Frustrated with two visits over twelve weeks due to COVID and not having a correct pair of glasses, I went back to my previous optometrist in Palm Springs who did a very thorough exam and changed the prescription just a bit. They determined that the majority of the error was do to my pupil alignment with my progressive lenses. It cost me $700 for new lenses as my insurance was used by Elegant. WOW!! The day of the appointment, I was greeted by a gentleman named David. David was very professional and cordial. My appointment was at 1030 and David started my pre eye exam at 1030...right on schedule! I then met Dr.B for my exam. Dr. B is the best! I'm so happy that I stumbled upon Elegant Eye Optometry during my search for an optometrist in the desert! I am new to the area, so I had a hard time finding someone close by that accepted my insurance (VSP) but EEO checked all the boxes! Making an appointment was very easy, and I was able to get an appointment pretty quickly. I finally had my appointment today and WOW, everyone was so nice and friendly and the doctor is hilarious! I don't think I've ever laughed so much during an eye exam. They also have a great selection of glasses, and I'm very excited to pick up my new pair when they're ready! Great experience. First time using this office, but they were the only ones able to get me in within a reasonable time (first of the year). It wasn't planned, but I'm staying with them. Clean, fast, professional, and excellent customer service. I just got my glasses Friday (approx 2-3 days earlier than quoted), and I've had no problems after one day of wear. This was my first visit to Dr. Burlock and the Elegant Eye office. The staff was top of the line and professional in every way. Dr. B is a lovely man who is not in a rush, but is happy to explain in detail about the exam results and choices based on that exam. Dr. B does not push you to purchase glasses at his place, and is happy just to do an examination. However the selection of glasses was great. The technician was equally able and willing to explain about lens coating, tinting, etc. available. This is a well run impressive operation, and I'm looking forward to picking up my new glasses and designer sun glasses when they arrive next week. read more

I have been going here ever since I was 8 years old. Dr.Burlock has always been the best dr. And always treated me very nice and always had a smile on his face! He made me feel welcome and so did his staff, at the time, and so I never had a problem going to the eye doctor. But a few years ago I noticed a change in the way his staff addressed me and the way they spoke to me. They were very short and very snooty and they never called me when my prescriptions were in. And then they would blame it on me, and try to make me feel bad about it. I even asked my mom (who has gone there for over 10 years) if I was overreacting or if she felt the same way. she 100% agreed with me. She said they never call her to let her know her contacts are in, she said you have to call them or you won't get your contacts. I dread calling them and never feel comfortable probably going to be switching eye doctors soon. read more
