The food was very good. We went for happy hour which is half off sushi rolls from 4-7 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All the staff we interacted with were very nice. The host did forget the happy hour menu so if you do go between the hours make sure to ask for the menu as they have a lot of sushi rolls at half price. We will be back as the food was good.

Tuna tacos, wings, papaya salad, kimchi dumplings and bar

I was worried given the reviews but VERY pleasantly surprised. Went with my daughter, shared five things. All were good, the hardest part is ranking them. My favorite was the sesame garlic tuna tacos, fantastic. Great flavor, lots of fresh tuna sashimi, wonderful. Second was the kimchi beef dumplings, again amazing flavor. The wings were good, nice flavor, good sized portion. My daughter loved the papaya salad and it was a great sized portion. The pork belly bao had some nice flavors but maybe a little bit less amazing than everything else, but still good. We ate outside, quite pleasant and service was excellent.

My sister and I decided to stop in for an early dinner on a Saturday because Cheesecake Factory would have been a madhouse and this place had seating immediately. Plus I love sushi, so you can't really go wrong there and Asian is usually a good choice for my sister who is gluten free. Inside the place seemed clean, the only thing I noticed is that my shoes stuck to the floor a little, but that could have been due to too much of whatever cleaner they use on the floor being mixed into the mop water, so I didn't give it much thought. I got the bang bang shrimp roll and the sunset crab. As well as crab Rangoon, that were admittedly delicious. My only complaint is the bang bang shrimp roll is just a California roll will the shrimp sprinkled on top, I had higher expectations than that. My sister ordered a gluten free hibachi, which was listed on their gluten free menu. We were later told that it is not gluten free and should not be listed on their gluten free menu. The kitchen was able to accommodate a hibachi with some changes so that she could still order this. She thought they did a great job with the meal overall. Her only complaint was that they do not have a gluten free white sauce which is generally a pretty standard sauce with hibachi. They also did not have any gluten free soy sauce. They were able to provide a ginger sauce and a Thai chili sauce that worked well but was not the same as having the white sauce. Additionally, if ordering a sweet tea, just note that this comes from their soda fountain machine and is not a fresh brewed tea. This type of sweet tea has a bad after taste and we ended up switching up the beverage.

I've visited CO four times in the past week for both dinner and happy hour, and I'm consistently impressed. The service, food, and hospitality have been excellent every time. I really appreciate the improvements and attention to detail that the new management is bringing to the restaurant. The ambiance makes it a great spot to visit for a casual dinning experience. My go to items are crab Rangoon, pork and kimchi dumplings, hibachi deluxe, com chien deluxe and Malaysian chili wings.

Continues to be a great stop on a bike ride!! Right off the trail, the patio beckons! Had the tuna tacos as a late lunch, and paired with the lemongrass ginger. It's not a White Linen, but it's close!! Also tried their Vietnamese. Offer as a dessert. I was not expecting it to be an iced drink. But it was very tasty!! Properly caffeinated, bitter, but sweet. Coffee, Kahlua, vodka, sweetened condensed milk, served tall over ice. Thank you, Ian!!

Absolutely fantastic lunch! We tried the teriyaki chicken, salmon poke and California roll. The orange blossom drink was superb.

Dined at the recently opened Co in Southpoint for Happy Hour and my taste buds were very pleased! Happy Hour is M-F from 4-7p BUTTT they also have $1 dumplings during that time on M and W. Everything we tried was full of flavor and delicious but the Crab Rangoon dumplings and wings stole my heart. We ordered: Dark and Peach cocktail Crab Rangoon dumplings Steamed edamame (can add on spicy garlic) Beef & Kimchi dumplings Malaysian chili wings Strawberry spring rolls Pro tip: They also have 1/2 off Sushi every Tues and Thurs The service was not up to par but they recently opened and that is something that can be approved. Our server was super apologetic about the cold food and wrong drink we initially received.

    Drunken Noodles w/steak--yum!!!

As an avid fan of the Charlotte location, I checked out the Durham CO during a recent trip & it did not disappoint. Different ambience than the Charlotte location--less Asian fusion vibe & more reminiscent of the business that previously occupied the space. But, the commitment to excellent service & well-executed dishes remains the same. I opted for the Drunken Noodles w/ steak & they did not miss. Well-dressed noodles with the right amount of sauce & expertly cooked steak that met my needs for tender, well-seasoned bites. The Blackberry Fizz rounded out my experience with a bourbon-forward beverage brightened by a refreshing mix of blackberries & lychee. Would definitely recommend & look forward to visiting again!

I loved the food at CO. I ordered the korean bowl, and my friends ordered the spring bowl and hibachi deluxe. They were all delicious, and the portions were quite large- we all had leftovers. The inside is quite cute, no complaints. What knocks this place down was the service. Our server seemed quite nice, but she disappeared for 10 minutes at a time on 3 separate occasions. We were there much longer than anticipated, and overall received poor service(appetizers took 10 minutes to come out, hard to get water refills, was waiting at least 5 minutes for a fork). Maybe because our server couldn't be bothered- maybe because they didn't have enough staff. I can't say for sure, but it did leave us pretty frustrated.

    Pho

My boyfriend and I just went here after a long work week, looking forward to a nice night out. All in all, extremely mid experience. This dinner was the vietnamese equivalent of having a pizza where the crust is burnt but the cheese hasn't melted yet. We started off the night with a scene of beautiful decorations and an odd lychee-southern iced tea beverage. We ordered the bao buns, which came out with only two buns. In Chicago last week we ordered bao buns at a five star restaurant that were ten times better and less expensive than these. The pork belly meat here was so tough I could barely bite through it with the bun staying together. I ordered pho (for the first time ever) hoping to try a great new food, and it was absurdly oversalted. On the menu it stated that it came with cilantro, but when it came out there was a small mountain of cilantro on my plate. With even more cilantro on the side! I do like cilantro, but not so much that it's turning the broth of my soup green. My boyfriend ordered the hibachi deluxe, which came out about 20 minutes after my dish. It was alright, definitely better than my dish, but you could get twice the amount of meat for half the price at Hibachi & Co. on Hillsborough St. The service was overall very slow, not much else to say in that regard. Our waitress asked us if we needed the check at the end of the night and when we said yes, she proceeded to go behind the bar and chat with other servers for about 10 minutes before getting our check. My angel of a man still tipped 20%, but we wouldn't recommend going back. For a $70 bill, there are so many better places we could have gone. Save yourself the time and the saltiness.

    Bang Bang Shrimp Sushi Roll
    Amanda E.

The sushi was top notch. I had never had this roll and it was off the charts! Highly recommend it! The service was good considering I sat at the bar and he had several customers. The atmosphere is very loud here so be prepared. Music is loud and people are loud. I don't consider this place family oriented, it's more for singles or couples. Half off on sushi on Thursdays which is even better. This place is pretty cool and I'd come back, definitely!!

This was my first time but my friend's hundredth (her words!) There was plenty of parking. We were greeted upon entry and informed that we could choose where we sat and just to scan the table QR code when we were ready to order. We chose a high top and a server brought us water. The vibrant colors and decor gave off excellent vibes. I ordered the Karaage Bowl (on greens instead of rice AND all the sauces on the side) and a side order of seaweed salad. A server brought them to our table. It was not necessary for us to get up once we were seated. Everything was SO GOOD. Like, "I'm mad at myself for not coming here before" good. All of the sauces were amazing too. I ordered them on the side since I wasn't sure how I would like them all, but I think I'll leave them on next time. The "greens" were a mix of lettuce and cabbage. The side of seaweed salad for $2.50 seemed a little small when they brought it out but it was packed in there and was plenty. The server came around a couple of times to check on us and top off our water. We bussed our own trash. There was only one unisex bathroom that I saw. There seemed like a lot of takeout orders going out (it was a little separate from the dining area which was nice). There was also a lovely outdoor area that would be nice if it wasn't 100 degrees. I will definitely be back to try more menu items!

My friend is from that area of the world and on her recommendation we tried this new place in downtown Durham. It was terrific, what a find! The restaurant's unique handmade paintings on walls and other Philippino decor was very eclectic and cool. Lol The place was packed and we were walk ins but the owner was at the reception desk and told us to wait and she might be able to find us a table. We were in luck and she directed us to the back room. The server was extremely knowledgeable about all the dishes. Since I had my Philippino friend along she told us what she liked as well as the helpful server. The food was delicious and had a beautiful presentation. What I ate I can't pronounce so look at my pics of the menu ;) I had a bowl w beef filet, onions, tomatoes, cucumber lining the bowl w Jasmine rice and a fried egg on top. My friend had oxtail and the other had an appetizer of Lumplang Shanghai and entre of Pancit Behon, all food was extraordinary and large portions. No doubt that was why the place was packed! However, we were utterly disappointed with our food there. The bao buns had a tender pork in it but the only sauce it included was hoisin which made it too salty. The Korean fried chicken in the 'Spicy' flavor was flavorless. The sauce was extremely bland alongside the chicken meat inside. Don't let the red bright color deceive you, we kept wondering when the 'spice' would kick it (it never did!). We each got a curry udon and added chicken to it. As frequent curry eaters, we wanted the Asian flavors we enjoy however, this udon was bland as well. The chicken we asked to be added felt like it was just chopped and put over the udon with no actual flavor integration into the dish. We left this place feeling like it was a waste of our money. Given their higher prices, I would've expected something A LOT better with some real Asian flavors.

Parking couldn't have been easier. We found a space right out front in the lot off 9th Street and walked straight in. It was a quiet Thursday afternoon, so we were seated immediately. The dining room has an elegant, relaxed feel, and with only a few other diners it made for a peaceful lunch. Lunch for two came to about $80 plus tax and tip, making this one of the more upscale lunches we've had recently. We ordered: * Crispy Brussels Sprouts * Shrimp Dumplings (6) * Mongolian Beef * Grilled Lemongrass Hanger Steak Salad * Unsweetened iced tea The Food The Crispy Brussels Sprouts were a great start. They were crisp on the outside without being overcooked, and the mint, peanuts, and pickled onions added both texture and freshness. It was also a large enough portion for leftovers. The Shrimp Dumplings were excellent. The flavor was outstanding, and the Thai chili oil, garlic, scallions, and sesame worked beautifully together. My only criticism was the portion size. At six small dumplings, they felt a little pricey for what you receive. The Mongolian Beef was probably the best value of the meal. The beef had a nice sear while remaining tender inside, and the portion was generous enough that we had leftovers for another meal. It had a nice overall flavor as well. The Grilled Lemongrass Hanger Steak Salad was good, but not quite at the same level. The steak had good flavor, but the cut itself was somewhat chewy. The accompanying rice was simply prepared and didn't add much to the dish. The flavors were enjoyable, although slightly sweeter than my wife prefers. Service Service was excellent. Our server took the time to walk us through each dish, explaining ingredients, spice levels, and preparation so we could choose items that fit our tastes. We especially appreciated her knowledge of the menu and her attentiveness throughout the meal, my iced tea was never empty. Overall Juju offers an attractive setting, excellent service, and several very well-executed dishes. Our biggest challenge was simply that much of the lunch menu leans toward spicier offerings than we typically enjoy. While we probably wouldn't return specifically for lunch, the dinner menu appears to offer a much wider variety of choices that fit our tastes. We'll likely be back to give dinner a try.
