After eating tacos, we wanted something sweet. I had an ADDICTION to insomnia a while back so I decided to give this location a try. It's near the college and medical centers so I'm not sure how the parking is. For us, we walked. Location is clean, and the staff was nice. Experience: cookies are super expensive! They literally had menu items - 6 cookies for $26 plus tax! To me, that was disgusting. On top of it, all the cookies were nasty except for the confetti one which was delicious! I am not sure why companies are cutting corners with flavor and keeping the price sky high -but that's what the cookies are giving. For that, I have to give it 3 stars. I can make my own delicious tasting cookies at home so I will do that going forward! read more

Cookies are okay, way too sweet for my taste. Ambience was fine. The service however, oh my god. We went in at 11:58 pm during the pj promo (free cookie if you come in wearing pjs) and the super short guy with round glasses was working. He was sitting by the door and super slowly went behind the counter. Before we said anything, he snarkily pointed out that it looked like we were wearing pajamas and the promo was over (it had ended a minute ago). We said no worries at all and looked at the ice cream, then asked if they had samples. He rudely told us no, if you want to sample it you can buy it. We were a bit taken aback and we order a single scoop of one of the flavors. He didn't clarify that we had the option for two scoops, gave us one scoop and charged us for two, and still managed to give us the wrong flavor. Mind you, through all of this, the place was completely vacant of other customers. We were really taken aback about how outright rude, snarky, and backhanded the worker was even though we were polite, didn't complain at all about the promos ending, ect. read more

The cookie is OK, not sure if it's worth $4.25 but it's OK... I was more surprised by the person working there and his frustrated attitude at me because I walked in and wanted to order something. read more

The customer service was good but the cookie was not, and I know the difference. I often patronize the Insomnia Cookies on Hawkin Street in Charlotte NC and the cookies are delicious. read more

I've ordered from here several times and the desserts are always fresh and my pickup order is always ready on time. The shop is clean, service is friendly, parking is fair (you have to park across the street and walk). You can use your rewards here as well. 9/10 (due to the parking). read more

This insomnia cookies is normally good but the food was just bad I mean I love insomnia cookies but I got the wrong cookies after all I requested was a box full of snickerdoodle and oatmeal raisin and a confetti cookie easy right? APPARENTLY NOT I got a bunch of random deluxe cookies instead and only got 3 of the cookies I actually requested it gets worse because when I call and tell them about their mistake they say that I said "put anything in The box". Food: 3/10 Service: 0/10 Ambience:7/10 read more

I have loved Insomnia 50s for a long time, and I just went to their location here- we tried the ice cream and absolutely loved it! I think the flavor is awesome, and I love that they are open so late! There is no free parking, so be aware of that, but the food is delicious. read more

I don't care what anyone says, insomnia cookies are top shelf. They are always warm and delicious and taste homemade. They don't need a different weekly menu to keep my attention. They deliver to my new address and I think I may be in big trouble! read more

Do you want a fresh, warm, melt in your mouth cookie? Then this is the place. The prices are steep but for the quality listed in the first sentence, I get it. This would be a once a month or two type treat. Because of Covid, they do not make the cookie sandwiches in store. They give you everything to make it yourself when you leave. It's amount of ice cream was more than plenty. The ice cream, was also very tasty. I could just go inside the establishment to smell the air and fix my cookie cravings! They do have some random good deals like 6 cookies FREE for teachers went on for a little bit. They also advertise for cookie cakes! Who doesn't love a cookie cake? The location is downtown Bull City so parking is a little tough. They have room for one or two cars to pull right in front for the curbside pickup! I'm only doing 4 stars because of price. $36 for half a dozen cookies and 3 ice cream sandwiches is a bit much. Enjoy! read more

The cookies itself are a 5-star. It's reputation speaks for itself. White Chocolate Macadamia Nut is my favorite. I'm not a fan of chocolate, but the Double Chocolate Chunk is pretty good too. What I'm rating as a 3-star is the service and lack of available parking spots. Not sure why Insomnia Cookies can't carve out a spot for the patrons. I understand space is hard to come by in the Brightleaf District but certainly they can do better. Until then, I'll continue to be very inconvenienced whenever I pick up my cookies. read more

service was insanely moody with me and i'm not even trying to be a karen i asked if they had a water cup and this woman practically yells no at me and then i buy one cookie and they give me HALF A FREAKING cookie like wtf are yall on. this was the worst experience i have ever had read more

Went here hoping for a quick dessert after dinner. We show up and we wanted 6 deluxe cookies. We were informed that any deluxe cookie would be a 25 min wait. That kinda sucked but we got 6 basic cookies but even then they were out of the chocolate chunk. We ended up getting m&m, whitechocolate macadamia, peanut butter chip, and double chocolate chip. They were tasty cookies. I hope to revisit this location soon and maybe be able to try the cookies we wanted the first time. Update: we went today ($2 deluxe cookies on Tuesday) and they had everything! They had all of the cookies in stock and we were in & out quickly! The staff was friendly and the vibe seemed a lot better than before. read more

I am obsessed with cookies! I had the classic chocolate chip cookie, and it was like an upgraded Pillsbury cookie. It's like $3 per cookie, but personally, I am a sucker for sweets, so I may come here with friends or if I am too lazy to make my own. 4.5 stars! read more

Insomnia Cookies - the outside of a restaurant - Desserts Near Me - Durham, North Carolina

Great cookies. Awful delivery. Sometimes the delivery arrives 20 minutes. Other times it's over two hours. And, on occasion, the cookies never arrive at all. If the cookies do make it to your house, the order is almost always partially wrong. I order through Grubhub so that I can be refunded for the parts of the order that are wrong. The downside is that if there's a problem, Grubhub says to call the store since Insomnia has their own delivery drivers. Insomnia's automated phone system says to call Grubhub. read more

Stopped in to pick up some warm cookies. I have stopped by a couple of times now and each time I came back in it was an off-peak time and they always had a good variety of warm cookies available. I have tried the following varieties: -chocolate chip -sugar -M&M -deluxe confetti (bigger size) -deluxe salted caramel (bigger size) - vegan gluten free chocolate chip Every flavor tasted excellent. For the vegan gluten free cookie, they did ask if there was an allergy concern and would put it in a separate box which I appreciated the effort. I also ordered the "cookie 'wich" which is their ice cream sandwich with 2 cookies. They had at least 6 flavors of ice cream to choose from. Due to covid, they packed it all separately and I constructed the cookie ice cream sandwich myself when I got home. Everyone working there is always friendly and nice. There is some counter seating where you can look out the window as you enjoy your warm cookie. However, the parking there is tough since there isn't any for several blocks so I put my hazards on, parked in front of the place, ran in to pick of cookies, and drove off to enjoy them down the street where I found some on-street parking. read more

My family and I love Insomnia. Whenever my daughter visits from college, she wants to go here. My husband loves them as well. Highly recommend the snickerdoodle cookie with a side of coffee ice cream! No parking at this location, you'll need to park across the street or around the corner and walk up. Employees are very nice and cookies are always delicious. I recommend. read more

I generously gave it three stars because they are always out of cookies or extremely low on cookies every time I've visited. Then the cookies they do have are hard. I would advise calling ahead to see if they have what you want before making the trip there especially given the parking situation is not ideal. read more

If I could give less than a star I would. Staff here is rude and on top of that the cookies were cold- correct me if I'm wrong but the whole point of this joint is to serve warm cookies? Save your money and go to the location off Hillsborough street. It's worth the drive for the service and the warm cookies. read more

We had Cookies in Durham, North Carolina. They would say they were outstanding! I would definitely use Insomnia Cookies again.

I placed a delivery order through their website and they cancelled it 1.5 hours later with no reason provided after having been assigned a driver for over an hour read more

Great cookies. Parking sucks, but they were very accommodating with the wait and threw in some extra cookies.

We ordered on their website. The estimated pick up time was over an hour from order time. Then when we got there our order wasn't on the pick up counter. We had to wait in a long line, it took about 10 minutes to get to the front. They looked up the order and agreed it wasn't on the counter for pick up. We then waited another 30 minutes for them to cook the cookies. On top of that, when the worker brought them over we said "Thanks." She said, "People are rude," in a disgusted voice giving us a dirty look and walked away angry. read more

Yummm! You can never go wrong with Insomnia Cookies, no matter the city! It's super dangerous that this location is only a mile away from where I live, given the size of my sweet tooth and lack of self-discipline. Ordered pickup (because why pay for delivery when you can easily drive 3-4 minutes away) on a Tuesday night - I chose one of the deals going on, which was a box of 4 deluxe cookies for just $10. Decided on 2 chocolate peanut butter cup (which I've had before and absolutely love) and 2 chocolate oatmeal walnut. The cookies were warm and nicely packaged when I arrived, and curbside pickup is super quick and easy here (minus the lack of parking spaces). Both cookie types were delish, and I still think the PB one is my all time fave! I definitely know where to go to satisfy my frequent dessert cravings. While I generally prefer to support local businesses, I must admit that for a massive chain, Insomnia knows how to do cookies right! read more

Ah, Insomnia Cookies. The only thing that keeps me up at night is waiting for their delivery to arrive on time. And don't even get me started on their so-called "gluten-free" opti .I ordered cookies for a group of friends, and not only were they over an hour late, but the cookies were all stale and hard as rocks. I could barely break them with a hammer, let alone eat them. But what really takes the cake (or cookie, I suppose) is their gluten-free offerings. They have it listed on their menu, but when I asked for a gluten-free cookie, they looked at me like I was speaking a different language. It's like they've never heard of celiac disease or gluten intolerance. If you're looking for a good night's sleep, don't bother with Insomnia Cookies. You'll be tossing and turning all night, waiting for their delivery that never seems to come. And if you have any dietary restrictions, forget about it. Insomnia Cookies will leave you wide awake and hungry for something better. read more

I like to think of myself as a cookie expert. With that being said, these cookies are really good. Personally, I think a box of mini cookies is the best thing on the menu but the regular sized cookies are pretty good too. I've had Chocolate Chip, Macadamia Nut, Peanut Butter, Sugar, and Cinnamon Brown Sugar. All of these are very above average but Chocolate Chip is my favorite flavor they offer. read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Staff was extremely rude, hid in the back, wait was over 45 minutes. I watched so many customers leave because of the attitudes or because staff was hiding in the back for so long. I can't express enough how disappointed I was with this experience. Would never go back to this location and highly not recommend. Would give a zero stars and speak with a manager if I could. read more

The staff was extremely helpful, kind, fast and informative. The cookies were a step up from the ones you get at subway, the ice cream (I got cookies n cream) was good, but I came here to warn the masses about the COOKIE BUTTER. I was super excited and spent $6 to get their cookie butter, which was not at all what we all know and love as cookie butter. It tastes like a bland chocolate cookie DOUGH, please call it that, and not cookie butter. read more

Was there on Sunday Feb 13, out of the 4 employees working, only one was wearing a mask, even though being in Durham there is still a mask mandate and clearly a sign on the door requiring masks was not being observed. Now onto the service, no one seemed to know what was going on, very disorganized, and was there much longer than it should have taken to get half a dozen cookies. The cookies themselves were not even as good as you can get at Food Lion, for the price was very disappointed, and don't think I'll be back read more

Horrible customer service. They were out of many of the cookies but she was incredibly rude. I get if you don't like your job it's not the customers fault so quit or suck it up. read more

Up until recently we'd had no issues with this Insomnia Cookies location (other than the fact that their ice cream pints were less than half full) BUT we made an order last night, the cookie tracker said it was delivered to the door (IT WASN'T) we tried calling the number multiple times,, tried different extensions and YOU CANNOT REACH A REAL PERSON! Every time we tried we were shuffled onto a long hold only eventually to be given the same voicemail box and then the voicemail is full! There is no way to report a problem with an order or that it's missing on the app either! What a horribly setup business. read more

For the SECOND time this week I placed an online order to the Main Street Durham Store only to end up with nothing. The first night we placed an order and about 15 minutes later got a call saying "we don't have anymore cookies e are closing early." So we were given the option of a refund out to pick up later that day. We opted for the latter, when i arrived to pick up my order was STILL not correct and the cashier looked rather irritated she had to fix my 56.00 order. Tonight i placed an order to pick up at 1am. The store hours listed are until 3am. We got no call and assumed everything was on track only to arrive at 1:15 to a completely DARK STORE and a worker who says "we got your order but were closed already and we don't have anything in your order but you can have the last of everything we have were just going to throw it away anyway" as she points to remnants and broken cookies and pieces that have been thrown all in one tray haphazardly. Nobody wants what looks like it's been prepared for the garbage!!! I frequent this storefront and only recently have i began having issues with my orders. Everything from cold cookies, to missing items, to walking in and the workers being outside sitting on the bricks watching me walk in them saying "oh I'm coming." Save yourself some time and frustration and Just skip this store all together and go to the one on Franklin Street in chapel hill. read more

The cookies were not hot. I thought this was one of the main marketing strategies. This is sad. Poor service.
