Came here for lunch on Sunday. Service was great, and it's a nice little space. My food however came up a bit short of satisfactory. The rice in my rice bowl was undercooked. The steak was a bit dry and a little stiff to chew through. That being said, the sauces and flavors were excellent. Overall it's a decent place. I'm not craving to come back, but if a group of friends wanted to go, I wouldn't object either. read more

Rachel was amazing, she was very polite and attending. The food and drinks were phenomenal! She also shared some great recommendations for the city! 10/10 read more

Woman bartender is extremely rude to customers and unwelcoming. Horrible manners and quite angry. Wouldn't go back.

Such delicious food and drinks, but even better service! Camron took such good care of us even though we came in close to closing. Dream server! Wish we lived here so we could come back every week to get the Crab Rangoons, Drunken Noodles, and see the staff! read more

This was my second time to visit Co and they did not disappoint. I'm a big fan of ordering a bunch of the small plates/apps and then just sharing them amongst the table. We got the wings, gyoza, steamed buns, and spring rolls. My husband also ordered one of their bowls. Everything was delicious. The gyoza is probably my favorite item though. Service was great and we were the only ones upstairs so it was nice and quiet. Definitely will be back! read more

CO - Vietnamese Near Me - Charleston, South Carolina

Cousin and I visited here based on a recommendation from an employee from Gaulart and Maliclet. Well what can I say??? After dining here three times in three days I guess you can color me happy!!!! CO is an Asian fusion restaurant that serves incredible food. The menu is extensive from the delicious pork and crab rolls to Pho to the amazing curry with chicken, etc, etc, etc. The restaurant is cozy and inviting especially on a rainy night which was on our first visit. It was pouring on King Street and we just walked three miles: we had just finished touring Rainbow Row and the Charleston Battery and had a craving for Thai food. On this visit we dined on Mango Spring Rolls, Tuna Tacos (delicious) and Crab Rangoon. Stefan our waiter was great and informed us of their Happy Hour from Monday through Thursday from 4-7pm. Most dishes start @$4 and drinks range from $4 as well. Thus, the next day, post Boone Hall Plantation tour, we tried the Happy Hour. My cousin ordered from their rotating cocktail menu: Orange Blossom which consists of triple sec vodka. We tried the crispy pork and crab rolls and tuna tacos. Tonight, our third outing at the bar, Jennifer served me a wicked pour of delicious Sauvignon Blanc. I tried the curry with chicken and it was out of this world! Who would believe that $4 buys you a hearty serving of rice and a melange of chicken and curry? I started with chopsticks and then the spoon did the rest. Charleston is so fortunate to have a great restaurant such as CO. Every meal we dined on was delicious and enjoyed the conversation with the accommodating staff. Special shout outs to Stefan, Jennifer and Nick who went above and beyond! read more

Amazing bites. Natalie's an amazing waitress.. Get the Bang Bang Shrimp and thank me later

Interesting Vietnamese menu that is pretty well executed. This from someone whose eaten in dark alleys of Hanoi and the thump-thump coffee houses in Danang. Cody spot with a good vibe. Good for a date night. If you haven't had Vietnamese, it's not going to intimidate you with strange ingredients or flavors. It's a refreshing complement to Chinese, Japanese and Thai restaurants. read more

Asian fusion place that's got a chill vibe and super tender meat. I highly recommend their pho and Vietnamese ramen. Their pork belly bun is good too! However, laksa curry didn't have much noodles just a lot of salty curry without much garnish or carbs to soak it up. Also, if you're looking for a private/cozy place to talk, this is not it. They have communal tables that would have to split it with other parties and it gets quite loud. read more

The place looks amazing. Love the decor and the vibe. There is a bar area and a dining area upstairs. Don't know if 2 stars is being nice or just right. What I was extremely disappointed about was the wait time. We were slightly hungry until we had to wait MORE than an hour for our food AFTER ordering. I'd like to assume they have short staff in the kitchen as I saw there were 3 other waitresses serving. It wasn't just our table who complained about the wait time but I overheard another table complain too. We then asked for bowls as we were sharing and trying the 3 dishes we ordered, took them 5 mins for them to get it for us as our food was getting cold. Now yeah, 5 mins should be slightly reasonable. But the fact that it took over an hour and more to get our food, 5 more mins to get bowls for us, and legit SECONDS to ring up our check and accept payment is insane. The portions are regular but if you're hungry, I suggest ordering 2 entrees as I ended up going to another restaurant to get more food. But maybe that's only because I was starved after waiting over an hour. (I weigh 130 and I only need to be 80% full to be satisfied) Now getting to the food. We had the pho, vietnamese ramen, and korean rice bowl. (This is just an observation not a critique, maybe they were just trying to sound simple, but they call it a korean rice bowl.. it's a bibimbap. There's other names which surprised me.) So the korean rice bowl, yeah, it's a rice bowl but the ratio of rice and toppings were really off. The toppings basically disappeared when I mixed it together. Only thing that saved it was the sauce that smothered everything. The steak was also overcooked and poorly seasoned. The vietnamese ramen was decent, the base tasted like a normal pho base. As expected for a Vietnamese ramen. The pork belly was also overcooked as in it was hard to chew and not tender. The ramen is like wonton noodles. The ramen was the best out of the 3, sadly. The worst out of the 3 was the beef pho. It. Was. So. BLAND. The meat was so soggy like it was sitting in water for a long time. The broth was super bland. Now what confuses me the most was the fact that the vietnamese ramen had good pho broth. Where as the actual pho had bland broth. I don't get it. Left disappointed. Sorry, but I won't be coming back. *As to be expected from a generic asian fusion restuarant. They don't exactly specialize in any dish. So if you don't mind mediocre asian cuisine, it's a cool place to chill and hang out with friends. But I'd suggest going to other places if you want legit good food. *Also, no one wears masks. Understandable about vaccines, as I got both doses too but it only gives about 90% safety. Just an observation. read more

Food and service was amazing. Rachel our server was outstanding and very helpful. Will return every time I visit!

We had dinner here earlier this week. Waited 20+ minutes for our food to arrive. It was so slow!! Ordered spicy pho and it was not that good. Noodles were too soft. Husband had the Vietnamese ramen and did not enjoy it much, only ate half of the contents. Definitely had better Asian food elsewhere and the wait for the food to arrive was just too ridiculously long. read more

Just based on my lunch alone, I did not care for my Korean rice bowl and dumplings. To me, a Korean rice bown is a bibimbap and this didn't cut it for me. The biggest selling point of the rice bowl is the steak. It was supposed to be marinated but it didn't taste like it had any flavor whatsoever. It almost tasted like they just grilled it plain. If it was marinated, it wasn't for very long. Some of the vegetable, like the sprouts, just came raw. The edamame were just boiled, as were the carrots. I didn't taste soy or sesame oil in the bowl. The best part about the bowl was that the egg was cooked nicely. I also ordered the dumplings. The flavors were okay but didn't like the fact that you get 4 small dumplings for $6. I found that the skin was too thick although I did like the dipping sauce. I came here because I had friends that recommended it but it's not for me. Although I can say that the bartender was friendly and was welcoming. read more

Came here for dinner. Setting and restaurant is very clean. The service was phenomenal and our waiter was so sweet. She really helped with accommodation and section of food. The drinks were great as well. I had a lychee martini , you can never go wrong with it and it was made well. However the food was really subpar. I ordered the summer rolls and I've definitely had fresher tasting rolls elsewhere. Also my husband ordered the drunken noodles - pad kee mao is suppose to be a flat noodle but they used a the thin rice noodles of pad Thai. In addition, it was SO SALTY (and I mean I can handle salty food and this was excessive) though it did have good flavor to an extent it was not what drunken noodles are suppose to taste like. My laksa curry dish tasted like a bomb of salty turmeric water and the noodles were so over cooked, had a few bites and that's all really. If you are going to come here I would stick to the drinks and possibly take a grander at the apps but not so much for a main course meal. read more

This place has great food.... When its correct. This is the second time I have ordered to-go. I wanted to give them a second chance because I love Vietnamese food! However, another let down. First time I ordered Pho, they gave it to me without the broth. Dry Pho? Luckily I caught it before I left. This time I ordered spring rolls- the sauce never made it into the to go box- dry spring rolls aren't the best. And I ordered curry laska, it was supposed to have chicken in it- no chicken in my order. It was a pretty expensive meal to have BOTH items wrong. If you order from here CHECK YOUR ORDERS, they will probably be wrong. And if you need to speak to someone, good luck. They won't answer your call. It's a shame. read more

Excellent food drinks and service. Sat upstairs and Allison our server was fantastic. Seems happy hour is popular at bar.

Our waitress Allison was a great help. Nice location and great Asian food at a reasonable price. Off the main drag in downtown Charleston away from the maddening crowds. I had a Thai cabbage salad with tofu and a fried egg on top, shared mango spring rolls, and my date had Thai chicken basil noodles. No room for dessert, but the whole menu looked great. read more

I'm not sure if it was a bad day or if it was super busy. I ordered pick up on Memorial Day and ordered curry laksa which was great and the Bun Bo Hue which they call it spicy pho. The fried rice tasted extremely salty too :(, which is usually not normal. For my pick up order...while I understand they put a little slit on the top of the container to let out the steam from the hot broth the container for the Bun Bo Hue was completely cut down the middle and ripped. I think they need to handle with care and like other noodle shops wrap Saran Wrap and a rubber band on top. More than half of my broth was spilled and sloshed around in the Togo bag. I tried to call them three times as this meal was not cheap $17 but no one answered. Hoping someone reaches out soon? read more

I had an amazing evening at your restaurant and the ambiance was vibrant and inviting. Some of our top meals were the curry laksa and crab rangoon! Went for dinner with some friends and had an excellent experience. Alyson our server was the best. We will be back.

#fatjared say...a tucked away hidden gem that I would absolutely come back to! Not perfect, but a great time!! Don't blink or you'll miss this place. Right on the East side of King Street with not much signage, but really great food. Not perfect, but I would suggest coming here for solid Vietnamese! There was 1 issue with the night, and unfortunately I will never give you a 5 star review if it's not a perfect experience. The Bun Xao (Vermicelli bowl) was just not great. Noodles were overcooked and authentically from Vietnam they should be cold. Other than that I highly suggest everything we ordered. The presentation is great, food comes out quick but it is definitely fresh, the taste is all authentic and unique with the right accompaniments for the dishes, and the choices are just enough to meet anyone and everyones needs! Favorite thing was the wings. So well cooked, well seasoned, and priced well. That goes for everything. A very fair price for the great taste. Give CO a try! It's great asian food to take a break from the seafood choices all over Charleston, and a true hidden gem! Highly suggest trying it. read more

Stopped in for Pho and ramen. Both were wonderful. Great flavor and temp was hot! Highly recommend

Been going to CO for a number of years now. We've always been happy with the food and the vibe. This visit we stopped in for an early bite. Wife ordered the Gyoza and the wings. Wings (5) were good and full of flavor but were very small. The gyoza (4) were TINY! They were about half the size of a "normal" gyoza. We actually laughed out loud when the server delivered them to the table! I went with my "go to" Curry Laksa. The flavors were spot on as usual. But, we both believed the bowls have gotten smaller (shallower). Service was great. Not thrilled with the volume of food. read more

CO is one of the best places in downtown Charleston to enjoy good fresh Asian cuisine. The location is hard to beat, right on King street with convenient and cheap parking garages in the vicinity. We visited CO on a Saturday night and there was no hostess as they have a ¨sit yourself¨policy, worked for us and we chose to sit on the bar. We started with the fresh mango rolls which are the traditional rolls with rice paper and filled with veggies, the peanut dipping sauce that comes on the side was excellent. For the main meal I had the steak Korean rice, which is a bibimbap minus the hot plate. The steak was perfectly cooked and it was delicious on it´s own, but even better when mixed with the rice and veggies in the bowl. the portion was really big and I ended up bringing half of it home for lunch the next day. It is a great option for a night out. read more
