My new favorite place in Charleston. Our server was Alyson and you can tell she is experienced in her role. My sister had so many questions about the menu items and Alyson answered them all allowing us to really understand what we were ordering. plus the curry laksa was to die for! Highly recommend and make sure you ask for Alyson! thank you CO team! Can't wait to go back read more

Great food !!! Nice ambiance upstairs and downstairs . Service was alright I would say . Only downfall is that WHERE IS THE SUSHIII???? Other locations have sushi and I would think they carry sushi also since they are near the beach and fresh seafood . I've visit the charlotte location a lot and when I'm in Charleston ! read more

The ambience is very nice and service that we received was outstanding. The food is very disappointing. This is the second time that we came here and left disappointed. The garlic tuna tacos and curry laksa were actually good. The Pho was flavorless. The drunken noodles are unlike any I've had before as they are dressed in a super concentrated sauce that is sweet and has a slight spicy aftertaste, the noodles are not the typical broad noodle and were undercooked while the chickens was dry and over cooked. The Pad Thai was just disgusting, it had a strange smell and the noodles (same as the drunken noodle) were uncooked and you couldnt bite through them. We left the drunken noodles and the Pad Thai basically untouched and the waitress was happy to take them of our bill. read more

I've been here a few times and it's always great! The prices have gone up a good bit from the last time I came here, which was a little disappointing. I got the drunken noodles with chicken, my partner got the chicken pho and we shared the edamame gyoza, which were amazing! The service was great in the beginning, but they could use another server as it can get pretty busy. I'll definitely still be coming back again! read more

We were looking for a nice Asian restaurant in Charleston and stopped by CO. I'm a Vietnamese American so when I saw they had fusion Vietnamese food, I didn't have my hopes very high. The geisha portraits all over the restaurant were kind of weird, but I liked how you could choose whether you wanted to sit at the bar or at a table upstairs. We came during lunch, so we ordered a bunch of single appetizers as well as a one entree. We tried the Malaysian chili wings, the garlic sesame tuna tacos, the pork belly buns, and bun xao. The wings were good and came out with quite a lot. Crispy with a nice kick, we enjoyed it. The garlic sesame tuna tacos were actually really good and I ended up ordering another plate of them. The aioli on the tacos was so so good! The pork belly buns were okay, the bao was steamed and fluffy, although the pork itself was kind of drying and lacking some type of sauce. The bun xao was interesting. The mix of vegetables and noodles weren't bad, but there was waaaay too much sauce that made the whole dish extremely salty. All our noodles and veggies were drenched. There was so much sauce, we didn't even need to add the nuoc mam cham that came with it. The carrots were also marinated in some type of salt mixture, so they just added to the overall salt content. The eggrolls weren't that bad, but the dish wasn't really edible. Luckily, we had enough appetizers to keep us pretty full. I like the concept and the restaurant itself was nice, although some of the staff seemed downright rude and the food wasn't great. read more

The food here is so amazing. It's incredibly authentic and I appreciate the genuine respect for viet culture by incorporating the language into the menu. Overall this is a great place to get a variety of Asian food. I got viet food but my friend got the curry and it was also so amazing. It was an absolute flavor blast in my mouth. Super duper yummy and very fairly priced. The portions were also nice and I'm in love with the decor of the place. Honestly one of the best restaurants I've eaten at in downtown Charleston!! read more

Some of the best Asian food in Charleston (there isn't a lot here). The ambiance was perfect but it is rather small, we got there early enough to avoid a wait. Open seating. read more

Worst pad thai I've ever had. Super dry noodles that stuck together in big clumps, and equally dry big blocks of chicken. In fairness, sounded like they were understaffed, but it was a pretty terrible customer experience, as it took forever to be seen/seated/fed and the servers attitude was pretty bad too. read more

I went to this establishment for a quick lunch during my work day. After reading lovely reviews about the Pho I wanted to try it. First this place smells like old mop water and sewage as soon as you walk in and encounter the bar. But I stayed. I ordered the beef pho bowl and got a dirty plate with wilted vegetables and it wasn't steaming hot. I was done. This is one of the grossest restaurants I've been to. read more

I was looking forward to dining here however I came away very disappointed. To say the least. Very inattentive, did not get silverware with my meal. The explanation was "we are out of forks" 7:00 in the evening and not crowded. I ended up eating with a spoon. O napkins but cocktail napkins either. I ordered the green curry with tofu and it was spiced just right, however the peppers were almost too large to eat. Poor prep. Just poor all around. read more

This review is for happy hour only. It's a nice restaurant with an active bar scene in the front. The happy hour is from 4-7pm weekdays which is a generous amount of time. The happy hour menu is mostly dumplings and rolls - I ordered the one steam pork buns but they had run out apparently. The drinks only featured one cocktail (I chose the margarita) that varied and the bartender had to tell us which one - same for draft beers, not all were under happy hour. It was confusing. It was a little chaotic to order and get the attention of the bartender who was overwhelmed (though handling it nicely - still friendly) and therefore forgot some items. The dumplings were good/fine the summer roll was skimpy on the meat part but I did feel healthier eating all those veggies! Overall, I am not sure we'd go out of our way to come here for happy hour. We will continue exploring the rest of the options on King Street. read more

Service was awful. Seated at table without silverware, napkins food sat in front of us for almost 30 minutes with nothing utensils to eat with. Asked numerous servers and was told it hadn't come out of the dish room yet. Portion appetizer extremely small. Food bland servers response to us throughout entire meal, (thank you for your patience)!!! Do not recommend this place Ps I called restaurant to speak to a manager left message no response back. read more

We got to the restaurant at 6:40 ish on Saturday night. Luckily there were plenty of seats. There were 4-5 long tables (you share tables with other ppl) and 3-4 small tables for 2. Ww had no problem with sharing a table but only thing which bothered me was that the table was sticky. However, the food we ordered was delicious! My husband got chicken pad thai, I got vermicelli salad, and we shared tofu ban mi. When we were leaving (close to 8), there were many people waiting for a table. Get there early to enjoy great food :) read more

Frozen Chinese food from food lion is better than this! Worst banh mi's and pad Thai I ever tasted. Imposter Asian food poorly made and thrown together. Banh mi was just tofu on a bun or chopped steak on a bun.."fresh and robust flavors??" Bland all around and no proper Asian flavor. Panda express of all plqces puts this place to shame for God sakes. Sorry to say I don't find this place to be consistently good anymore. Sometimes it is; sometimes it isn't. I love their menu and I've had really good food experiences here, my last visit not so much. I ordered the Pho Ga and found the noodles on the bottom of the bowl in a uncooked, gelatinous ball. Wasn't the dish I was hoping for. This happened on May 12, 2019 Do better Co. read more

I've been to CO twice now and have gotten the Vietnamese Ramen both times. It's such a flavorful and filling meal! Often in broth-based noodle dishes the broth is an afterthought, but with this one the savory-ness really comes through. This is one where I actually sacrifice stomach space to drink the broth. The dish comes with both pork and beef which have been delicious and tender both times. The happy hour menu is pretty great as well. I got a $5 guava margarita that had a dash of jalapeño that gave an interesting spicy aftertaste. My friend got the veggie rolls and tofu bun from the happy hour menu and enjoyed both. Keep in mind that happy hour ends at 7pm! There's a lot of seating variety in CO, with long tables upstairs for larger groups. Definitely check this place out if you're looking for a more trendy vibe to your King Street dining experience. read more

Ordered the Thai Green Curry for takeout and it did not come with any of the vegetables listed on the menu description - just a few pieces of tofu. Essentially just paid for broth - very overpriced and disappointed. Also, as I got to the end of my meal there was bits and pieces of seafood at the bottom. As a vegan, it was incredibly disheartening how little attention anyone paid to making my meal. read more

The first time I went here, the food was pretty average, but the happy hour deals and their flavored sake were great, so I decided to give it another shot. The second go around the food was bad. There was so much sauce on my noodles that i didn't even bother taking the leftovers home. I really wanted to like this place. I'm always on the hunt for good Asian-inspired food in Charleston, but this missed the mark twice. The location downtown is great, though, and the ambiance works well for a date night, but I recommend going for some sake during happy hour, and finishing with a meal somewhere nearby. There are so many great places to eat in downtown Charleston, I wouldn't waste your time here. Fool me once, shame on you, full me twice, I'm going to Bon Bahn Mi. read more

I love CO! My husband and I have been multiple times and I finally have settled on a four star review. I've been going back and forth between a four and a five star but this past time solidified the four. The food is AMAZING! But the service was slow and impassive. The food is so fresh and flavorful. This past time we went for restaurant week. We shared the edamame Goyza and spicy crab Rangoon. the Rangoon had more flavor but both good. The next course we had green papaya salad and curry Laksa. The salads here are my absolute favorite! So fresh and full of flavor and it you get a salad for dinner it is HUGE! my husband thirdly enjoyed the laksa flavors. Because it was restaurant week I could not settle for just their large salad for my meal so I ventured out and tried the pad Thai. It was delicious! My husband pho and also enjoyed his! The main dishes were huge and you definitely get what you pay for! The reason this is a four star for me is the service. Every time we have been it has been extremely slow and this last time was no different. The waitress came 20 minutes after we were seated to take our drink order then another 20 minutes before taking our food order. The waitress that brought our drinks from the bar was rude and slammed the not so flavorful cocktails on our table when she brought them to us. The wait was worth it cause the food was a 5 but service was a 3 at best. read more

We stopped at CO for the happy hour. We had a heck of a time finding a place to park, but finally found an open meter. Little did we know that you can park your car for 10. For the day at the pier. We sat at the bar. I didn't like any of the wine choices on the HH menu so I opted for the drink of the day which was a Guava Jalepeno margarita. It was ok - spicy and not too sweet. Hubs had an IPA. HH menu had a nice selection of apps so we ordered the edamame, crab Rangoon and the pork and crab spring rolls. Very reasonable abs nice afternoon (HH begins at 4) snack. Bartender very friendly - great service. Would definitely recommend. I think our entire bill was around 20. Plus tip read more

We went to Co twice in one week, the first visit was 4 stars so we returned a few days later ! Sadly the second visit was 2 stars. I ordered drunken noodles (the same dish I ordered the first time) and it was unlike any other drunken noodles I've had in my life. The noodle is usually thicker. This was not. The sauce was burnt. The first plate they brought out for me was pad Thai. I asked them to remake it, and they brought me back this dish which was supposed to be drunken noodles. But I don't know what that was. Sadly I won't be returning. I expect the food to taste the same at a restaurant when you visit in a week! Too bad. read more

Typically my trip to Co involves a big bowl of Pho and then I'm on my way. Seriously, I've never even finished the entire thing once. That being said, I never felt the need to add sides and apps. Although everything always looks great, it just wasn't necessary. Well, my mind has been changed. I went for Restaurant Week last night and opted for the 4 for $25 option... crazy good deal and you get to try a bunch of different items. The Beef Pho was phenomenal per usual (notice how I didn't get all cliche and write pho-nomenal... yeah me too). The beef is always so tender, never fatty, and adds such great flavor to the broth. The Pho accompaniments are always fresh and plentiful as well. I also tried the Curry Laksa and that broth was laksa-mazing! I would say it's similar to the broth of a Tom Ka Gai but, maybe a little less sweet. The curry gave it a nice kick at the end without being overly curry flavored. I would definitely order it for myself next time... except, I want to try the Vietnamese Ramen, oh and the Spicy Udon, oh and the Bun Bo Hue, I think I'll need to be back often. I started with the Pork and Ginger Gyoza. Although small, they manage to cram some serious flavor into these little dumplings. They come pan seared and the dipping sauce is nice and light. At the same time came the appetizer size of the Vietnamese Chicken Salad that I've heard so much about. I'm not one to rave about a salad very often but, this culmination of chicken with julienne veggies was excellently refreshing. After all this came the dessert of Crispy Cheesecake Wontons. Again small, which was perfect because there's no way I needed more being so full. The orange flavor and chocolate drizzle made it unique from just a fried cheesecake taste. I definitely enjoyed it but could have just had more gyoza and been just as happy. At the end of the day, I have like 15 reasons to come back and try different things here. Co is definitely a new standard for me. read more

There's pretty decent food here, but in my opinion it's a bit expensive for what you get. The pho I usually get is cheaper and had more of it. The flavours were good but was mostly just salty and spicy. I think it could use a bit more read more

We ate at CO for lunch yesterday and it was delicious! I had the green papaya salad with extra shrimp instead of pork. I don't eat pork, and the kitchen happily substituted. The salad was shredded papaya instead of lettuce, which was really interesting and delicious. There were lots of shrimp on it too, sometimes I feel like restaurants skimp on the shrimp, but not CO. Even without an appetizer, it was very filling to me. I liked the nuts as well, because it gave the salad a crunch. It's definitely something I'd order again. One thing I really liked about CO is that they have a separate vegan and gluten free menu. I didn't actually see it in the restaurant, but it's on their website. There's plenty there for meat and gluten eaters too, but I like that they make an effort to please everyone. I personally thought both menus had lots of excellent options, and the staff was great with substitutions. The portions are also quite large. We didn't have any issues at all, although it did take our food awhile to come out, everything was super hot and delicious when it did. I would love to go back and try more items on the menu. read more
