If you're looking for a spot in Charleston that truly leans into the holiday spirit, Prohibition…read moregoes all out with its Christmas decorations from the moment you walk in. It sets the tone immediately, and the festive energy carries straight through the meal. We kicked things off with Bloody Marys and a Morning Fog -- simple, classic, and done right. For starters, we shared the Hula Hoisin Wings. They were definitely on the heavier side with the hoisin, but still absolutely delicious. The Mistletoe Mango Tuna Poke Tacos were a standout. They come as a small plate with three appetizer-sized tacos, and every bite was bright, fresh, and beautifully balanced. The Buddy the Elf Burger offers a choice of a single or double patty; ours was cooked perfectly. The smoky bacon really brought everything together and gave it that extra "wow" factor. We rounded things out with the O Come, All Ye Fried Rice with Hanger Steak, which was another winner -- perfectly cooked, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. As if the meal wasn't great enough on its own, we happened to be there while Emily Curtis was performing. She's truly incredible and added such a fun, memorable vibe to the day. I'd be remiss not to mention Kevin our server. Go see him. He was great. The whole team works great together. Don't let the bar-like atmosphere fool you -- Prohibition is far from your typical bar food or bar scene. There's a great space in the back, and the elevated menu makes it absolutely worth the visit. A festive, flavorful, all-around fantastic experience.

The waitress was indifferent and seemed as they we were bothering her ....which is fine, as I was equally "bothered" by her and her attitude. I liked the bar and restaurant and the menu was solid. Our service would have made this 5 stars but we have lots of other choices on King Street that will have staff more excited for our business.

Tucked away with true…read morespeakeasy energy, it feels like the kind of place you only hear about from people in the know. The moment you step inside, the Victorian-style décor sets the tone. Rich textures, warm lighting, and that unmistakable southern charm create an intimate, welcoming atmosphere that feels purposely hidden. Katie, serving as both bartender and host, elevated the entire experience. She was gracious, professional, and genuinely friendly the kind of hospitality that makes you want to come back before you've even left. Her Knob Creek whiskey sour was exceptional, easily one of the best in Charleston. Perfectly balanced with extra froth, it showed the kind of craft you expect from a top-tier mixology spot. If you're looking for a speakeasy that nails vibe, service, and cocktails, Scotty Doesn't Know should be at the top of your list. A standout gem in Charleston's bar scene.

There's a comprehensive cocktail menu and the French 75ish and the tiramisu martini were both delicious ($18 each). The prices are super comparable with other bars downtown. They have a full bar if you'd like a standard cocktail or any other creation I'm sure they could make it. Our server was great and very attentive. The kitchen stopped serving food at 10pm which I wish we had been told when we came in because I tried to order fries at 10:04 and was told I couldn't. Which I understand I just wish I had known. The place is pretty small and dark and very quiet so the perfect place for a calm nightcap.

The second floor has a nice sized dance floor, DJ, stripper pole (yes, a stripper pole), and another large bar. Both floors have bathrooms. There is an outside area too for the smokers, I can't comment on that area as I've never really been out there. Trio isn't always booming with people. I've been there some nights when there wasn't a lot of people and other nights when there was a line out of the door and the building was packed. I have no idea how to predict how many people will be there. I usually find my way upstairs, as I like to dance and the DJs are always great. 9 times out of 10 you will see some bachelorette party sitting in the little area with the stripper pole...so ladies, if you want to go here for your bachelorette party, assign one of your maids to stake out the pole for you (oh and bring some Clorox wipes...who knows who's spun around that thing). If you want to go out with a group of people and have a loud, fun time dancing the night away...this is the place for you. If you want a more sophisticated evening out, try another place.

I so wanted to love afternoon tea at Camelia's, but I just wasn't impressed. Don't get me wrong,…read morethe aesthetics are IMPRESSIVE. The metallic wallpaper, the chandelier, the velvet banquets and pub chairs are all indulgent and immersively pink. However, the quality of the food and service were just not up to my expectations or the price point of $80.00 per person. Even though there were only 4 tables of two at our 11am Thursday reservation, there was only one server and the food took a while to come out. This is despite the fact that nothing was hot and I suspect it was all pre-prepared and came out of a fridge in the back. First bites of cornbread were served at 11:30 and our savory snacks at 11:45am. Sweet treats (including cold scones) were served at 12:10pm. The food was fine, but there wasn't any one thing that I really loved. I did like the timers on the table for the different types of tea. It was a fun and interactive way to see how long your type of tea should be steeped. However, there was no way to remove the tea leaves from your teapot once it had reached the correct steeping time... so it just continued to steep from there. Maybe it's better for champagne cocktails? Go for the aesthetics. I wouldn't recommend going for the tea.
