Stopped by at 3:30pm on a holiday Monday for a late lunch. We had called a few times while walking over from the children's museum to see if they were open due to the holiday. Though nobody answered we figured we'd so by just in case since we had some out of town visitors that specifically requested to try Co. When we got there we noticed some people seated and eating, so we were excited to see they were indeed open. As we walked in, one of the wait staff said the kitchen was closed until 4pm (despite the people eating right in front of us), so we decided to have some drinks at the bar and wait for the kitchen to open again. At that point, a man from behind the bar rudely said to the waitress "uggghhh, kitchens not going to open, I'm cooking till 5". Needless to say we weren't going to wait a hour and a half. I'm not sure what was going on, or why they stopped cooking (maybe to change over from lunch to dinner?) But we weren't appreciative of the unwelcoming tone to say the least. read more

I ordered the bun xao. It wasn't the most delicious bun xao I ever had, but I enjoyed it, especially for the price. I sat on the second floor at a long community table with benches. This place has a good selection of Asian food, I highly recommend the pho ga, small portion but satisfying.

We had a group of 10. Good food. Came out quick and delicious. The panang pho was the best thing we had.

My husband and I LOVE Beef Pho and have enjoyed it at many area restaurants. We are rarely disappointed with this amazing noodle soup, but sadly we have to report that CO was a big downer. After enjoying some pork belly (a bit too crisp, but okay taste) appetizers and some dumplings (very small but tasty), we were ready to satisfy our hankering for Pho! Our steaming bowls arrived and, as always, we sampled the unadulterated broth before throwing in the sides. Both of us about spewed out our mouth full of broth as it was so extremely salty! Even my husband,who usually likes everything on the salty side, said that something was really wrong with our soup. We let our waitress know and she whisked our bowls away to "make it right". Now, y'all know it is risky sending anything back to the kitchen...what to do, what to do!! AND, if you know anything about Pho, it is a broth that is cooked over many hours...how are they going to "make it right"? Well, the bowls made their way back to us and we cautiously tasted it again. Still salty but now with a sugary side kick--bleh! We had to tell the waitress thanks but no thanks! She sent the manager out and to our pleasant surprise he agreed something was terribly amiss with our Pho...said he tasted it and agreed. To our dismay, he apologized but did not try to make amends to us one bit...not even offering to comp us our beverage! VERY DISAPPOINTING!! Especially since we drove from MP all the way downtown on a Sunday fighting crowds and impossible parking...just for Pho! Not great customer service at all! Our waitress was sweet and efficient. Good tip for her anyway. We headed down the street and stumbled upon Fire Street who had an amazing bowl of Pho!! I usually love going to CO, for take out or dine in. But tonight I ordered take out and was extremely disappointed with the service. I was standing at the bar for about 10 minutes before I was even acknowledged. When I was finally acknowledged they asked rudely what I wanted, I said I had a pick up order for Grace. Without saying anything she walked away and helped 5 other customers before slamming my food down and handing me my check. I have her my card and she did not even say anything for the rest of the time. Very disappointed with the customer service and I doubt I will be going there again anytime soon. My experience at CO was exceptional! This was the third time I've eaten there and it was just as good as the first couple of times. The food is authentic Vietnamese and the waiters are knowledgeable on the menu and flavors unique to Vietnamese cooking. I would recommend trying the beef pho! It comes with fresh basil and amazing hoisen (plum) sauce. The service was speedy and the atmosphere was contemporary and relaxing. On my last trip to Charleston we ate here twice... which is saying a lot given the many places to choose from. Salads, spring/summer rolls and gyozas are delish. Their chicken mushroom soup is also pretty satisfying. To top off all the tasty food, they have a full bar with excellent craft cocktails and wine. I suggest trying lots of things and sharing with friends. They have seating upstairs and down. We prefer downstairs as chairs are more comfortable. Upstairs they have benches and long tables (tip: not good if you.are wearing a pencil skirt!). The servers here are all nice; they will take care of you so you have a great time as well as good food and drink. read more

I decided to go out for restaurant week and try this place and do the 4 course with sake pairing, and I was so disappointed. The 4 courses came out one after another, three minutes apart and I could not even pair the beverages because in this time had only received one. And when the dessert came out the waitress asked if we needed a box and we had not even touched our entrees yet. Then she never came back to ask how everything was and I ended up canceling my second drink but it came anyway, I was no happy, It was a bad experience. Was in town for the day, wanted some lunch. Walked to CO and so very happy I did! I had the beef and kimchee dumplings wow were they delish! Didn't last but a few minutes- nice balance of flavors. Also had Banh mi sandwich caramel pork; the fillings were very tasty and I ate that in about 5 minutes. Would have liked a little more of the lighter texture in the bread as a usual Banh mi has y'know made with more rice flour maybe? Gives it a lighter texture and just that little bit of a crunch. But as I said the filling was great! Lychee tea was good and refreshing too, wanted Viet iced coffee but alas they were out of the condensed milk I'll return to try other things next time and bring my hubby so we can try more! read more

I thought the food was ok. It was very fresh, but weird flavor combinations for me that fell flat. I was super hype about trying Pho. I had the beef, and it was just boring. Spring rolls were weird but fresh. I wanted tea, they were out. Took forever to get our food. But the atmosphere was cool and over all it was a good visit. I won't be going back though. We went to this place because it was the only one place we could find which had multiply vegan options. The way service set up there is terrible. It almost impossible to get any help from a waiter. They are just basically their to take your order and to drop it off. We ordered 3 appetizers, they came out pretty quick but we were waiting over 10 min for somebody to drop off plates for us... I was really craving some rich and satisfying Vietnamese food so I was a little bummed when our server explained that the curry noodle dish had oyster (or maybe fish) sauce in it. The other dish we wanted was also had some hidden non-vegetarian ingredients. I was relieved when she offered to bring it the vegan menu! The options were limited, but it was nice to be able to order something that was prepared as the chef intended it to be. We ordered an app, salad and noodle dish. They were all delicious.
