I should have known better! This is on a busy street, touristy area, but a friend (ha!) chose it for meeting up for dinner. There were about 8 of us and we all got different dishes. The sake was good, the flavored ones were, as well (v sweet). I just thought the food was pretty bland and if it wasn't, it was overly sweet like the sauces were made with pre-made syrups. Our waitress seemed really young and new at waiting tables, as her timing was off and we kept missing each other. What I thought was the most disappointing though was how dirty the restaurant seemed. Walking to the bathroom, my shoes were sticking to the floor. You have no choice but to pass the wait station on the way, i.e. a messy little cove where the servers hung out and ate. It just felt weird for a place that was up there in price. read more

We ordered takeout from Co and had a disappointing experience. We ordered on Christmas Eve so it was nice they were open and the service was friendly but the food was just not good. We had two orders of the tofu summer rolls (one vegan and one regular). The rolls were literally just lettuce and tofu and small amount of bean sprouts - no noodles at all and there was no identifiable amount of mint or cilantro but there was almost no flavor or texture aside from the peanut sauce on the side. For entrees, we had the tofu pad Thai, the Vietnamese ramen, the curry laksa with tofu, and the vegan com chien. The only dish that was normal was the com chien which was literally fried rice which is hard to mess up. The pad Thai was the worst pad thai I've ever had - there was no flavor and the noodles were not cooked correctly. The curry laksa had some flavor but it was missing the noodles to go along with it. The ramen was incredibly salty to the point where we were trying to think of ways to make it less so. For $100 for takeout, we were left with a ton of leftovers because nobody liked the food. There are so many other better options in Charleston, you should avoid this place. read more

I work around the corner so I placed a lunch order on the yelp app. As I was walking into Co I got a phone call from a 1-800 number informing me that my order was canceled and they would refund me my money. Since I was already there I walked in anyway to speak with the manager and she said "Yea we don't have any carry out trays." She didn't apologize! She didn't say try again in a couple hours! Just stared at me as to say, "You can leave now!" I called back an hour later to place an order and all of a sudden they have carry out trays! I then proceeded to tell her I understood if they didn't have it but she could have acted a little remorseful that she couldn't help me earlier! (I didn't really want to place an order again! Just wanted to see what she was going to say!) At the same time I ordered noodles and I ordered dumplings. You mean to tell me you don't have carry out trays for any of my order! As I spoke to one of my clients about it she stated she placed a carry out order and it took over 45 minutes to get and it wasn't even busy! Customer service is my business! Therefore, I will not recommend anyone who comes into our shop to go here! read more

I normally really enjoy CO, But tonight I tried to place a takeout order at 9pm, arrived at 935, fully aware that they close at 10 and was told that they just decided not to make my order. read more

This place gets two stars for cleanliness. The food is bland and sad. Between us we got pad Thai (almost no veggies), pho (bland), and the Korean bowl (rice + tough beef + small piece of sad pickled cabbage. Expensive because it was in the middle of tourist town but damn, try to justify the price with good food y'all. The music was loud early 2000s alternative rock, not a great mood in there. If you're looking for flavor, go somewhere else. read more

Cannot begin to describe the disgraceful service at this restaurant. We were seated about 25 minutes with a small child without anyone stopping by. Should have walked out at this point. When asked if someone could take our order, we received a response saying 'I'm just really busy'. Food took another 30 minutes but we were not provided with forks/spoons/chopsticks. Had to request for this three times before helping ourself to this. This restaurant has decent food however the experience was so negative, I would never return. The server kicked around chopsticks while walking, didn't care to even clean up. Absolutely a waste of an afternoon. Would totally recommend saving your time and money and going elsewhere. read more

We are so glad we came here. Having a craving for noodles is a real thing and this place does not disappoint at all. We had the pork dumplings and pork belly buns (steamed) as a starter - SO GOOD. It doesn't look like much when you get it, but the taste is so rich and it is very satisfying. For main dishes we got the Korean rice bowl with steak and pho ga. It was so delicious and flavorful. We could honestly eat here every day. The best part about this place is that it is so reasonable in pricing for downtown. One of the best meals we have had and for two starters and two main dishes we paid just under $40. You leave feeling satisfied and full, but not too full - just right. This is a must try for anyone in the area! read more

Great spot Cool funky place Service was 100% excellent The girls were great We got the 3 course Dumplings and salads were great Except we asked for the entrees to be super spicy And instead of adding actual chillies they just added sriracha and Singapore sauce So instead of having a beef pho and green curry hot, they just came out with a lot of siracha sauce But place was awesome and they tried to make up for the mess but it was ok Will def recommend to others Thanks Anna for the great and kind caring service read more

I love CO! It's pretty underrated and doesn't get as much press as some of the other downtown restaurants. I've been a handful of times, tried different dishes, and have been really happy each time. My favorites include the beef & kimchi dumplings and curry laksa. There are plenty of cocktails, beers, wines, and sake to enjoy as well. Good happy hour menu and a nice staff too! Don't be afraid to ask the staff for information or recommendations. They are more than happy to help or offer up suggestions. If you plan on coming back - and you will - ask your server about their rewards program. It's free to sign up for. read more

I like the customer service and the ambience of the place. The waitress was very friendly and helped me decide my drink. Plus my drink was delicious. The food, though, was nothing like Thai or Vietnamese food I've had all my life. It was like they followed those one-pot recipes from Pinterest. read more

I really wasn't expecting good vietnamese food in Charleston, but I was pleasantly surprised. I really wanted to try the Curry Laksa, but they could not make it without peanuts, so I went with the Regular Beef Pho. I could not do the Spicy Beef Pho, even though I love spice because that also contained peanuts as well. The Regular Beef Pho was good and even though I ate it on a hot day, I still loved it. All the people I ate with loved their food. Their portions are huge at CO, so don't expect to finish it. I highly recommend you try CO! read more

CO - Regular Beef Pho - Vietnamese Near Me - Charleston, South Carolina

Upon entering the restaurant, I was told to seat myself. I was alone and looking for a quick bite, but the bar was full so I made my way upstairs to the larger dining area. I sat myself and waited 10 minutes before the, very busy and solo, waiter was able to greet me. He apologized for the wait and took my order. I ordered the basic beef Pho and a water. Luckily, the Pho took no time to hit the table. Honestly, I was not impressed with the Pho Broth. It lacked that deep, aromatic beefy flavor that I have experienced in the past with a good Pho both. The Pho was also like warm and not steaming when it hit the table which was a disappointment. Maybe I caught Co on a bad day for food and service, it was clear that restaurant was busy and understaffed. Until next time Co.... read more

I wish I could say good things about CO, because my first experience there was great.. 4 years ago. Today's experience, not so much. The food was ok and the customer service was atrocious. I wasn't even acknowledged for check out with my pick up order. I had to leave the money on the counter after waiting 5 minutes to pay. The bartender did everything BUT check me out. read more

Been here several times. Love the food, most of the time. Service was the worst part of the experience, VERY slow and they act as if it is inconvenient to do their jobs. We didnt eat one of the entrees cause it tasted really bad, like not edible. And im not picky. We didnt even try to send it back we just asked for some sauce to put on it to cover up the taste and we were told no. Nothing was done or offered to replace it. Reluctantly paid for the food we didnt eat. Didnt have any water for most of the meal. Just listened to employees talk about us while three feet away from the table. Was taking my mom out for a nice lunch to celebrate but left feeling very aggravated and felt bad for her wasting her hard earned money. It was the topic of the conversation several times throughout the day just how bad the service was. Hope they improve in the future but i wont be back to this location. :( read more

Well shoot. I wish I could give CO 3.5 stars but I'm leaning more towards 3. The wife and I stopped by looking to grub down on some dumplings and noodle dishes. Dumplings were a grand slam outta the park. Good job guys. Nice even dough, not too overloaded, held together nicely and the flavors were damn good. Then the main course. My wife had the Vietnamese ramen, which is pho and ramen noodles, fresh bok choy and other ramen ingredients you'd expect to see. Hate to say it but the broth was very bland. I mean this is fuzion, I get that, but desperately needed salt. Swing and a miss. I ordered the spicy udon with tofu. I love tofu for some reason. I used to eat it regularly in Seattle in everything. The udon noodles were great, nice and tender. Fried tofu was ok, the slices were a little long to eat in one bite so I found myself trying to cut them in half. So overall, I wasn't impressed with the main dishes at all. The star of the night was the appetizer. Service was great, I have no complaints there. Prices are fair. Restaurant is a little close quarters, but not bad given it's in downtown. read more

We went here on a whim last minute over the summer. We quickly got a table and service wasn't too far behind that. The food was beyond good. My dish was to be with tofu but came out with chicken, but they resolved the issue and it was delicious. read more

I've eaten here and I've ordered take out from here multiple times. Their drunken Thai noodles are the shit! (Pardon the language) I've honestly never had a bad meal from here! The rangoons and the sauce they come with is like crack! Just had the udon noodle dish the other night, so full of flavor! Their dishes leave you wanting to come back back night after night! Ps. It is a smaller restaurant so you may have a longer wait on a busy night or be sat at a community table with other guests. I've also been here on a busy night when one of their chefs had walked out in the middle of their shift! The staff were very apologetic of the long wait times for food and were very on top of making sure our needs were met. read more

For someone who doesn't want to pay for more than $8 for an appetizer and still have a very tasty meal, this is the spot! Staff was easy going as we kept ordering more dishes throughout the night. The soy sesame tuna tacos were so fresh and delicious we had to ask for another round! Everything from the honeymelon boba tea, steamed buns, the beef pho, pad Thai, drunken Thai noodle. The prices were very reasonable for downtown king street, plus the food is good! The bathrooms upstairs were nice; however the one located downstairs had an awful smell and desperately needed to be cleaned, which is why they lost one star. read more

CO is on the more expensive side for Asian fusion lunches but it's one of my favorite lunch spots on King St. The Pad Thai and Drunken Thai Noodles are two of my favorite dishes (which, for an Asian fusion place to mess up would kind of be like an Italian place that can't make spaghetti and meatballs) but my latest go-to is the Green Papaya Salad. It comes with shrimp and pork on shaved papaya with a lime dressing (and a hint of fish sauce). It's a really good take on a salad that you don't see at many places around town. They also have really good bottles of what I think is house-made (at least chain-specific) sriracha sauce. The service can be hit-or-miss depending on how bad the lunch rush gets but the food is always very good. read more

Pretty solid Asian restaurant on King Street. Skip the Tofu Buns. They were nothing to rave about and for 2, certainly not worth the $6. I was also a little disappointed that the buns came out on a noticeably dirty and stained plate. The Thai Drunken Noodles with Steak was quite good and the portion size was more than filling. I liked that they came out saucy and piping hot. The Korean Short Rib Banh Mi was a bit smaller than expected, but had a nice flavor to it. The side aioli was a nice touch to break the heavy and salty short rib taste. The menu had a little bit of everything and it was nice to see some Vietnamese dishes downtown. Overall, pleasant lunch. read more

Decided to do an online takeout order. Super easy process. Walked down and it was ready to go on time. Friendly staff. Nice space. No napkins or soy sauce included w order. My bad for not checking before leaving. Pad Thai was meh. Chicken was dry and flavorless. Sauce was sparse and was the normal Americanized version. Tasted like it could have come out of a box at Costco. Size was small for $14 of rice noodles. Summer rolls were DELICIOUS. Sushi flavor is okay. Lots of rice, not much inside. I'd go back and order the summer rolls again, but probably nothing else. read more

I give this place 5 stars! The food is absolutely incredible and is the best pho you will find in Charleston. Let's start with the sake! For $3 during happy hour you can get your fill of about 5-6 shots of certain types of sake. A truly amazing deal. For lunch i went with the curry laksa personally. THE DISH IS OUT OF THIS WORLD. It is spicy but not too spicy, filled with flavor, lumps of chicken, shrimp, and cuts of cucumber and bok Choy which give a nice crunch and lighten up the spice. You get enough or two or maybe three people to be honest. Although your noodles will run out get a side of rice (about $2.50), and continue to feast! Others i ate with got chicken pad Thai, which is a huge portion, filled with so much flavor! Also, the chicken pho is amazing, comes along with all the fresh fixings you'll ever need. The interior of CO is chic, simple, and too the point, with a beautiful upstairs area. I will say for some reason the downstairs area had a lot of fruit flies when i costed so hopefully they were able to fix where ever they were coming from. Overall, this is definitely the place to go get your noodles and broth on ! read more

Really impressed with CO (food and decor). I originally went in expecting a pretty limited menu, but was surprised at the variety. I started with the ginger gyoza and they were awesome. The gyoza dough and was awesome. The dough was not fully cooked, but it tasted intentional. The meat and ginger filling was delicious. The ginger was subtle, not overwhelming. The decor was nice for a bite and cocktail. Very modern and lounge music. Overall had an LA feel. Seating is limited down stairs, but there is a second floor. I would still expect CO to be busy on a Saturday night. My only two complaint are that first the bathrooms were very dirty. Everything was really wet and it smelled musty. Second and more importantly was the service. Service with the food and freshness was great, it was everything in between. Really slow to take a drink order, slow to get our drinks, and slow to refill. Everyone was friendly though. If the bathrooms were clean and service was faster I would definitely give a 5 star. read more

CO - Really good variety - Vietnamese Near Me - Charleston, South Carolina

I don't think you will get better Vietnamese food in Charleston. Not the most beautiful of restaurants, and furniture and decor looking a little tired in places, but clean and very reasonable prices. All of the noodle soups I have tried are really good. Perhaps my favorite is the curry laksa - shrimp and chicken in a rich coconutty broth. If don't want something so rich, the pho is excellent too (I really never had better in Vietnam). A tip for anyone on low carb diet, they are happy to substitute beansprouts for noodles. Their chicken wings are probably the best (in terms of flavor) that I have ever had (ginger, lemongrass, chile and coconut). read more
