Came to see Michael. This is definitely one of our favorite movie theaters. The food and drinks are always good. Service is always great. I definitely see why they try to have everyone order and be able to bring the food before the movie starts. Other than that the setting is great. My only complaint today was the female restrooms. All of the stalls had toilet tissue just sitting in the toilets. I did tell two people who worked there so hopefully they took care of it but in my opinion they should always have someone checking the restrooms. read more

Now...I'm hitting them with a low score because of a few things that I did not like and they need to improve ASAP! First off this movie theater is located in the high end Tyson Corners galleria mall so while you spending coin on those luxury stores it's here for you to grab a drink, food, and movie. Now we got there about 30 minutes before our 1015 show stared so we decided to sit at the bar to grab a drink and chill before we order our food and head into the movie. We went on a Friday night the opening of the Spider-Man movie and those people were out...lol. Me and my partner came to see Odyssey which was really good. But back to the bar experience..does off miss thang that was at the bar wouldn't take our drink order as we sat at the bar. She going to say I have to get up and order at the cash register which was not even a foot from where we were sitting. Like girl really!?! Then there's an already 20% gratuity added to your bill which I cannot stand! How is that included when your service could be piss poor!?! We ordered our drinks they came out the strawberry mango lemon drop was good but a tad bit too sweet for my liken but drinkable. Now my partner he ordered a drink with Hennessy which was really good! I made sure I ordered another one of those while we were in the movie. He then got up to order our food and we headed into the movies. The burger was so damn good and the truffle fries were crispy and hot. Lord that burger was so good...lol Now the bathrooms were atrocious and disgusting! Toilets were all clogged and had urine and other substances just all in the toilets. Like are you serious! Folks flush the toilet by holding down the button long enough instead of just pressing and walking away. So I'm not sure if it's the pipes or what but y'all need to get this together. Service was disappointing. I understand that the theater was understaffed, and the waitstaff were polite, but our experience did not reflect the elevated dining and movie experience that CMX CineBistro advertises. Before the Michael movie began, my husband and I ordered popcorn, two milkshakes, and a meal for him (I believe it included skewers). Our total was over $70. My husband waited about 25 minutes for his meal before going to the counter to ask about it. He was told they were understaffed and returned to our seats. After another 25 minutes, the food still had not arrived. He went back to the counter, and they refunded only the meal he never received. In my opinion, the entire order should have been refunded because the delay significantly impacted our movie experience. My husband spent much of the beginning of the movie waiting and expecting his food, and ultimately had nothing to eat except popcorn. The bathrooms were also not well maintained. Multiple toilets were clogged and would not flush, leaving them filled with urine and toilet paper. The sinks were surrounded by water and strands of hair. In the family restroom, the toilet was continuously flushing, smelled strongly of urine, and the toilet seat was covered in dirt or some kind of buildup. I love the comfortable seats, but the poor service and lack of cleanliness made me hesitant to return. If I am paying premium prices for both dining and a movie, I expect timely service and clean facilities. read more

It is a nice clean movie theater. The only reason I chose this place is because it offered the D-BOX. I thought it was the full experience like imax+moving chair+smell etc. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Only the chair moves. you can modify its intensity from 1-3, but it is just shaking you unnecessarily and not a good feeling. Most importantly, the screen is just normal screen. I went back and forth on writing this review because I really loved this theater at first, but it's consistently gone downhill. For context, I literally drove from PG County all the way to Tysons (if you know, you know) just to come here - that's how much I loved it. So... this theater has a full bar and kitchen. If you arrive about 30 minutes before your movie, a server will take your order right from your seat. The drinks? Always on point, I must say lol. But let's talk about my last two experiences. Experience #1: I walked into the theater, got comfortable, and everything seemed fine, until Jerry from Tom and Jerry decided to run across the floor. I had to take a moment to process what I just saw. Thankfully, the server and manager handled it beautifully; they were understanding, accommodating, and really professional about the situation (the server was very knowledgeable about her bourbon ). I left impressed and decided to give it some time before returning, assuming they'd fix the issue. Experience #2: A few weeks later, I came back. I arrived about 20 minutes early and was told to order at the counter this time instead of from my seat. I ordered the popcorn trio and a drink -- $45 total. When I entered the theater, the previous guests' food and plates were still there. I waited for someone to come clean, but no one did, so I had to ask. When the server finally came in, she asked me about the concern, but spoke mostly to another woman and acknowledged me here and there. After I took my seat, she asked if I was in the right one... like huh? There are only 2 of us in here I think you can determine pretty easily if I was in the correct seat - I brushed it off, but it got worse... nearly 40 minutes later, I still didn't have my food. I had to get up and grab it myself and another woman was up there wondering where her food was as well . The back flooring was kinda dirty from what I could see, but I couldn't see it all so I can't call it. To top it off, one of the armrests near me was missing, and instead of fixing it, they left the screws exposed. I really struggled writing this because I've been loyal to this theater, but honestly, I won't be back for a while. If I do, it'll just be to watch a movie, no food, no drinks. CMX has been our go-to movie theater for the past few movies that we've watched. The seats are super comfortable and in a perfect setting for a long movie, and the dine-in concept makes for a fun, elevated outing. The food is above average for a movie theater. I highly recommend the crispy chicken bowl and the tuna poke bowl since both have been consistent and satisfying. The truffle fries are also a standout. On the flip side, the popcorn doesn't taste particularly fresh, which is a bit disappointing for a theater experience. They also have a bottomless option for popcorn as well as unlimited refills for soda, but you'll need to leave the theater to partake. Service can be a hit or miss. Some visits, the staff is attentive and everything runs smoothly. Other times, it feels disorganized or slow, but it also depends on how many patrons are in the theater. This movie theater is a special treat to yourself. Its clean and the floors aren't sticky The seating is comfortable however the seats are still close to each other and separated by a small partition. I would have preferred it to be spaced out from other chairs. Thankfully the theater did no have alot of people when we went. The service is good and we got everything we ordered in a timely manner. I server was funny which made the experience even better. There is a gratuity charge that goes to all the staff which is fair. The food and drinks are pretty pricey but definitely worth it. Remember you're treating yourself. Movie tickets are affordable. We paid $12 per person. We order the tempura lobster skewers, the half ceasar salad, bottomless popcorn, Domini pinot grigio, and a bottle of acqua panna. The sauce that comes on the tempura lobster is super good, but they dont put enough on it. In my opinion the sauce is what makes the dish so good. The ceasar salad was good also but severed on a really small plate so the salad tends to fall off. The popcorn is buttery and delicious pairs well with white wine. I probably wouldn't order bottomless popcorn if you ordered other food items because its too much popcorn go smaller. All and all its a great experience. It's nice that there's a theater option at Galleria. I went on a Friday night. It wasn't busy at all but I purchased tickets online ahead of time just in case. I've been meaning to come here since last year and finally bought some tickets to see Issa Rae's One of Them Days. I came here with one of my good friends for a Galentines evening and overall the food was great, the service was great, but the actual movie it self turned green a few times and cut off about 30-40 mins before it was supposed to end. It could not be turned back on so we received vouchers. Super disappointing. I do think more could have been done or provided but they tried. As far as the food, I got the Crispy Chicken Bowl and I would come back just for that alone. Its SO good! I also love that they give chopsticks as an option for utensils. My friend got the Blackened Salmon with a Shrimp Skewer and the Lobster Tempura and that was amazing as well. I did notice there weren't many dairy free options so we were pretty limited in terms of what we chose so I'd definitely recommend adding some dairy free or vegan options to the menu if possible. My first time visiting here with friends to see the movie Wicked. We were offered complimentary movie passes to use at a later date due to a delayed start to the movie which was greatly appreciated. The seats were super cozy, and the theater gives an intimate vibe, definitely a good date night spot! The service was great, and the food was pretty good, I ordered the Vanilla Milkshake and Plant Burger with added cheese and fries. My only con is that my food was lukewarm which with how expensive it was I'd expect it to come out warm or hot. Overall very mid experience but there were a few things that really stood out to me as red flags. To start they don't explain the seating situation very well at all so we ended up sitting in the second row thinking if he theater only had three rows, when in reality the theater had around 7 rows and the back four were the DBOX experience or whatever. So I was a little annoyed that we were so close to the screen. Then we ordered food and drinks and of course I tipped when the screen came up, not knowing that they auto apply gratuity so I ended up tipping $30 dollars all together. Additionally the food was very expensive, which I expected, but it was mid. If I went again I'd just eat the food court in the galleria as they have way better food. The strawberry mojito was extremely sweet, genuinely a level of sweetness I didn't know was achievable (negative connotation). The island aperol spritz was good. I heard great things about this Theater and figured I'd give them a shot. For starters they are located on the top floor of Tyson's Galleria. If you are coming on a date, it's quite a walk for you lady if she's wearing heels. We made this mistake. Parking isn't near. It's a hike to the elevator and theater. Once inside, everyone was nice and we were ushered to our seats. We sat in C7 and 8. Every two seats are couples seating from left to right or right to left so keep that in mind when booking. I saw a few couples split between the divider. Also, if you don't mind looking up the entire time, C and below are for you. I wish I sat a little higher. Once the movie started and we could recline our seats, things were better. Our waitress Bria was really nice. She gave us good advice on the menu. Ordering for food via the waitress stops once the movie starts. You're free to leave the theater to order food but if you don't want to leave and miss the movie, get there on time, well before the movie starts. We ordered the Wagyu Sliders, Caesar Salad with Chicken, Strawberry Pound Cake and the Strawberry Lemon Drop. The food came out shortly during the movie. Everything was hot and fresh. Perfect for a date night, if you want to have a more luxurious movie & dinner together this is where to go. You have to get there 30 minutes before the movie starts so they can bring the food to you, once the movie starts you have to get up. 18 percent gratuity is added to your bill automatically you can ask your server to waive or lower the percentage. Also you can order up to two drinks at a time, that way you don't have to get up again. The service is pretty quick, once the movie started we had all our food. Wagyu sliders and fries the sliders were a 2.5/5 not really a big fan I've had a lot of wagyu burgers and these just taste like fastfood burgers but alotttt more dry, no amount of sauce could have made the burger less dry it was just over cooked. The bottomless popcorn and drinks were pointless since once the previews start they stop coming to you and you get your food right when they start. I would prefer to have service throughout the entire movie. We asked for a refill of our drink before the previews ended and they just. Rushed us off which is weird. The automatically get an 18% tip that's wasn't well earned The ravioli was fresh out the freezer which isn't a terrible thing but all the pieces of cheese on the inside were extremely separated and come were still cold. Not the greatest taste either. Once you pay it seems like no one wants to help you any further they will direct you to the concessions even if the time limit is not over. So you basically have 30 min to order everything you want before they leave you alone. They also don't come and take your plates so you're stuck with plates while you watch the movie. I asked for sweat tea when I went t to the concessions and it tasted like they added dishwater to it. Not saying they did just the taste of it. Sigh....I wanted to make this my favorite movie theater...I have been here a few times and tried to "like" the food. The food continuously comes out cold. I went to see American Fiction and got to the theater 5 mins past the movie ticket time. I was told I had to order any food from the concession stand - blank stare - I didn't understand why since the previews had just begun (they are approximately15 mins long) but I went to the stand to order fries and a boozy cookies and cream shake. The young man took his time taking my order and didn't understand I wanted the food delivered to the table which is an extra charge if you order at the concession stand AFTER your movie ticket time. Whew.... So I run to the restroom then take my seat. My shake and FROZEN fries were delivered. Okay they were not literally frozen but they were COLD. $32 for cold fries and a boozy shake ( that was actually yummy) was too much. Overall the move theater felt clean, our server was also very kind and went over the menu with us. My favorite part about this theater is that they only serve you before the movie, so all orders are asked and provided before the actual movie starts and you don't have any interruptions during the movie. This was my first visit to CMC CineBistro. I had a little trouble navigating to the theater once I arrived but I am glad I left early for that reason. The theater has a dine in service but cuts off at a certain point before your movie starts. There is also a 18% gratuity automatically added to your bill. You can give more if you wish. I ordered the wagyu beef sliders and fries. The sliders had a housemade tomato jam. The burgers were good. I would just prefer a little more salt and pepper added to my burger. The drinks cup in open acrylic glasses, if you need refill (drinks, popcorn,) or anything of the sort you need to get it yourself. The popcorn is okay, not the best not the worst. Ah, CMX CineBistro... I came back for a second showing, hoping for a blockbuster experience... but sadly, it was more straight-to-DVD disappointment than red-carpet premiere. Let's start with the plot twist: you walk in expecting luxury cinema vibes, but instead you're stuck in a line at the one (yes, ONE) lonely window to order food. I'm convinced the poor soul at the register was also the cook, the food runner, and possibly moonlighting as the janitor. I halfway expected them to pop up in the movie as an extra. Multitasking legend. Now don't get me wrong when the food finally arrived, it slapped. The chicken sandwich and fries were chef's kiss. And the popcorn? So buttery and addictive I briefly forgot I was still waiting for my soda drink. But great food can only carry so much when you're sitting there wondering if you accidentally walked into a DMV with stadium seating. Also... their bar is NEVER open. Is it just for decoration? A mirage? At this point, I'm not sure it actually has alcohol in it. And the candy selection? Sadder than a rom-com breakup scene. If you're looking for variety, bring your own Red Vines and call it a day. To be fair, I was here on a weekday, so the place wasn't packed. You'd think that would help the service, but no just made the lack of energy and open bar more noticeable. CMX CineBistro, I wanted to love you. I gave you a second chance. But unless that bar opens, that window multiplies, or someone gives the staff a clone machine I may be sticking with the classic theaters (or my couch). for the food. I've had a really positive experience each time I've been to this theater! They recommend you get to your showing half an hour early to order food. However, we have been able to order getting there about 5-10 minutes early each time. There is a series of ads before the trailers, so your movie will likely start about half an hour after the posted showtime (probably to give the servers time to deliver everything). There's a tray that you pull out from the side of your seat and you can turn on a small light by tapping it. After the movie starts, you can get additional food and beverages, you just have to order them from the concession stand in the hallway. The seats are very comfortable and spacious. The quality of the food here is frankly much better than I expected- I'd put it above typical chain restaurants (like Chili's/Applebee's) and maybe just a step below Founding Farmers. There's a nice variety of options available. The burger and Wagyu sliders are both very good, and the fries are nice and crispy. Surprisingly, I loved the butternut squash pave- it's like a soft square of butternut squash served over rice and coconut curry broth, and definitely felt like something I'd order in a restaurant. Your plates won't be cleared, but there's enough room for you to push your tray out of your way when you're finished. I do wish either servers would come around once (maybe halfway through the movie) or there was a place to leave your dishes when you are finished. This is a fun, chill experience and a nice way to enjoy a movie- it's definitely the most luxurious dine-in theater option I've experienced. I will be back! read more

When my wife told me she wanted to go here for her birthday, it was essentially killing two birds with one stone. Why go out to dinner and then a movie (or vice versa) when you can go to CineBistro where you can have dinner while watching a movie? For food, we ended up getting the popcorn trio (chicken, shrimp, and calamari), the wagyu sliders, and a regular flavored popcorn to share. Add a bottle of water, a soda, and a smoked bourbon, and the total came out to over $100. Seemed a bit pricey, but I get it. The food was surprisingly good for a movie theater, and was definitely enough for the both of us, even without selecting the bottomless popcorn! The staff is quick and attentive with trying to get your orders placed and to you before the movie starts. Overall, I would probably come back for a date night, but definitely not often. Many moons ago, I discovered Cinebistro in Richmond, VA and was amazed at the concept of a movie theater being a one stop shop. Not only could you watch a movie in a state of the art theater but you could also eat a top notch Ribeye and have the adult beverage of your choice at the same da*n time.. Sweeet!! Since then, similar theaters have popped up in the DC area but this is the first Cinebistro and we all know, there's nothing like the original! Located in the DMV's most exclusive shopping mall, Cinebistro fits in quite well. It's a beautiful facility with a huge lobby bar along with several dining tables if you want to just grab a bite and a drink without partaking in a movie. The theater has large leather recliners with attachable tables big enough to fit several items including my aforementioned Ribeye.. Lol. Speaking of Ribeye, the food is excellent and the drinks are tasty with a kick! If you're shopping at Tysons Galleria II and have a few dollars left, catch a movie in style and hit up Cinebistro.. Honestly, I think this place is overrated. Yes, it's a nice theater--clean with decent seating--but the overall experience just didn't live up to the hype. The biggest letdown was the food. It was bland, flavorless, & definitely not worth the price. The servers were rushing to take orders before the movie started, which made it feel hectic & impersonal. If you're just looking for something different to do, sure--it's a change of pace. But I highly recommend grabbing dinner somewhere else beforehand. This just wasn't the experience I was expecting. If you're in the Tysons area, you're honestly better off having a nice dinner at one of the nearby restaurants & catching a movie at the regular AMC in the mall. The whole "dinner & a movie" thing here? It just wasn't giving what it was supposed to give. I probably won't be back to be honest. read more

Haven't been to the movies in so long...decided to venture here for a night out on the town. Needed something to lift our spirits after yesterday's epic fail lol and CMX CineBistro did just that. Purchased our tickets online and received an awesome reward discounted ticket for tonight's show. I'm already winning with this transaction alone. Arrived on time, and was greeted with a smile by the gentleman working the cash register. The theater was empty but hey- it's Wednesday and I'm not even complaining. The seats were plushed and comfy...and reclined to give me a boost of added comfort...all I needed was a blanket! Hahaaa!! The menu looked awesome and we are definitely looking forward to the next movie night out here and next time, maybe will have dinner too... Tonight we just opted for dessert's. We went with the Vanilla milkshake, coffee for me, strawberry pound cake, popcorn, some peanut m&m's and a bottle of water. $6 for the skinny box of m&ms that's $1 at targetgeesh! I was expecting the bag of m&ms...to pour into my popcorn of course but it's all good! Aside from that-we really enjoyed this theater and we are looking forward to the next show! Got tickets to this new theater down the road from our house for a SATURDAY (and I stress this for a reason) matinee. My teenage son and I were looking forward to a "spoil" day of expensive food that we saw had pretty good reviews and after watching all the older Mission Impossible movies again this time with my son, we were ready to watch the new one. We arrived to the ticket desk and got our etickets scanned. We found our seats as we looked in amazement of the environment. About 5 minutes later the same check-in woman tells me and another family sitting a row below us that the projector is broke and they would not be showing the movie and offered us 4 tickets to use for another date. To our surprise, when we attempted to use the voucher the following weekend, in the fine print we found out the vouchers are for Monday - Thursday only. We will be disputing these charges. I don't have time to go to the movies during the week as a single mother working a full time job. When I do finally take a day off it's to go to important medical appointments or take an actual vacation NOT local. I was highly disappointed at CMX and especially the employee for not mentioning the limitation of the vouchers. read more
