Came to TGI Fridays with some friends and my quick synopsis of it was decent food but the experience itself had a lot of misses. My highlights were the mozzarella sticks, which had such a good cheese pull and the ribs, which were decent with a nice whisky glaze on it. Fridays is a great pre-movie spot, especially with its convenient location right on the top floor of Tysons Corner. It's the perfect place to stop before heading into a show. I'm not sure why I'm writing this review. If you are "into" food enough that you're looking at Yelp then you're unlikely to be going to Friday's in any event. Still, here I am, so... I've tried this place twice recently. Once with my wife for happy hour before a movie and again with friends for lunch, also pre-movie. The happy hour was...ok. We sat at the bar and had potato skins that tasted OK if you added enough salt. My wife ordered and Old Fashion which was barely drinkable. I had a draft beer that was fine. The lunch a few weeks later was disgusting. We sat at a table and saw that the entire dining room was infested with small gnats. I can't imagine what the kitchen was like. My burger was tasteless, as were the fries that came with it. My recommendation for lunch is to take the few extra minutes and go down to the first floor. If you want value then go to the Cheesecake Factory. If you want slightly better quality then try Costal Flats. If you want a great lunch the it's Season's 52. read more

I was happy they allowed me to switch the fries out for a Caesar Salad at no extra charge. Service was cool. The vibe was okay. We haven't been to Friday's in a long time and couldn't resist when we saw it in the mall! The restaurant ambiance was dim and quiet for a Saturday which was great. They had the TVs going and music playing. I'm glad they kept some of the signature favorite items in the menu and put a red star next to them to acknowledge it! One of those classics is the sizzling chicken and shrimp. They're still making that very well and it came out great! The appetizer sampler was good too! To this day, I will only eat boneless wings from Fridays! The ranch was very thin and runny so that was weird. It was warm, yikes. The baked salmon was plain and lacked flavor, I think that's how it's supposed to be but it was cooked well. The dragon salmon was so good! I cleared my plate. I definitely appreciate that the garlic butter broccoli was cooked to perfection and flavorful! The jasmine rice was also cooked well and had peppers and onion in it as well. I haven't been to TGI Fridays in so long so my girlfriends and I decided to stop in for a quick bite while shopping. Typical Fridays setup- the lighting was dim, sports on every tv and a good sized crowd in the restaurant. Luckily there was no wait for a table of 3 and we were seated within a couple of minutes. All of us opted for the appetizer combo, which was a great price (I believe $16!) for 3 appetizers of your choice. I went with the whiskey glazed boneless wings, potato skins and mozzarella cheese sticks. We waited 25 minutes for our food, which is why I deducted a star but outside of that service was great and so was the food. To start off our cherry cokes were disgustingly sweet and tasted nothing like cherry coke. One of our red bull slushies had a VERY LONG piece of hair in it, and we were still charged for it. I never expected to ever eat at a TGI Fridays in my lifetime, and I don't think after eating here I will ever be eating at a TGI Fridays ever again. It's just part of those American sit-down restaurants that don't seem like they have a space anymore in our current society. Our waitress was really nice and helpful even though it was only her second day, but the food just SUCKED. We got the crispy whiskey combo which came with broccoli, mashed potatoes, ribs, and fried shrimp. The broccli was like oversteamed so it was mushy. The mashed potatoes didn't come with any gravy so it was really bland. The ribs were DRY and barely had any meat on them. The shrimp were pretty good, but I'll be a crispy whiskey combo it was frozen. Overall a not so great experience after seeing a really good movie. read more

It's been a few years since I've been to a Fridays so my best friend and I decided to come here prior to doing some shopping. When we walked up to the entrance, the hostess greeted us with a smile and walked us to a clean booth but with a broken seat. I didn't really mind the broken seat so we just stayed at the booth instead of requesting another one. While sitting there, we went through the menu and decided what we were both going to order. Our waitress came and asked us what we wanted to drink and we both said that we wanted the Raspberry Sweet Tea. My best friend wanted a burger with a gluten free bread and nothing on it except mayo. She wanted a salad with vinaigrette dressing. Wanting a different dressing than what was listed that came with the salad threw off our waitress. She became very confused on why she wanted a different dressing than what it came with. She tried to explain that he has a stomach condition that prevents her from eating a lot of things and that dressing was one of the things she couldn't eat. When it was my time to order, I told her I wanted the bacon cheeseburger medium rare and with a side of fries. When the waitress started to read over what she wrote down, she struggled and got our order wrong. We had to tell her all over again what we had wanted. After she left we had sat there and talked for a bit. As there was almost nobody in there, we kept our voices low so our voices wouldn't carry. With it being fairly quiet, I heard to the left of me, someone chomping on food and smacking their lips very loudly. When I had looked over, I saw an employee standing there taking food out of the dirty dish bin and eating it! I looked over twice because I couldn't believe what I was seeing! Right out in the open, just taking food out of the dirty dish bin and eating it. After about 30 minutes of sitting there, our waitress comes back without our drinks and said she didn't remember what we wanted to drink even though she was looking at her note pad. We told her what we wanted again and she walked away. 5-10 minutes later she brought our drinks to us. It took only one sip of it before we pushed it away. It tasted like a water down raspberry bud light. It was so horrible and also had a weird smell. Maybe after 10 minutes of getting our drinks, our food still hadn't come out and by this point we had been there over an hour. Our waitress hadn't come back so we couldn't order a new drink so we decided to ask a waitress for our check. I explained that we have been waiting for a very long time and the drinks were so horrible, that we just wanted to pay and leave. The lady tried to find our waitress and could not find her anywhere so she apologized and told us we were good. I'm giving this place two stars only because we received a smile from our friendly hostess and the waitress who tried to find our waitress, apologized to us for the bad experience we had. read more

Came here as i was staying near by and just needed a quick bite to eat. Alani was my server & i was excited to eat as it was a long travel day for me. I ordered happy hour appetizers and was told the mozzarella sticks came with 8, it ended up being 3. I was splitting with a friend. Then upon my friend ordering Salmon mango salsa dish, Alani told her to choose 2 sides even though it listed it came with rice and broccoli. My friend did as told, when the food arrived there was no rice or broccoli. Service was slow a bit which led to us asking where her sides were when receiving the check. Alani responded with "you chose two sides" and i reiterated to her she told us to choose two additional sides. She didn't take any accountability for her mishaps. Instead we had to pay the additional add ons for those sides. I waited for another waiter to walk by but nobody did while Alani came to our table twice to collect the tab. Every question I had Alani would respond with "I think" statements. Ended up not tipping since we had to pay for a plate that didn't even get eaten and a happy hour that didn't even seem good. If you don't know the exact answer, ask another coworker for clarification. Tips reflect service and attitude. Alani please put a smile on your face it'll help you in the long run as well! I had a terrible experience here. I came with my daughters on January 17, 2025. The hostess barely acknowledged us as we entered and completely ignored us as we left. The food service was extremely slow, we had to ask for straws and napkins. Although other staff saw us trying to get the attention of someone, they ignored us until our staff person was available. When the bill came, we had disputes and the staff person just made excuses and would not correct the bill. The services all around was awful. I left the minimum tip, but should have left nothing. TGI Friday's has always been one of my favorite restaurants. I love its energy, atmosphere, affordability, and wide, inventive menu. It's the perfect place to bring friends -- whether it'd be to blow off steam after a long day at work, watch your favorite sports on TV, or just for the heck of it. However, the only reason I gave this review four stars is because, on 8 May 2026, I went to karaoke, which they started hosting last month with the future goal of it being on the second Friday of every month, and it was honestly kind of a letdown. Karaoke was scheduled to start at 9pm but it didn't start until 9:45pm because there were technical difficulties. In all actuality, there were so many technical difficulties that the system kept cutting people off mid-song, which made for too many awkward moments. I didn't catch her name but the woman who hosted could've apologized for all the technical difficulties but she didn't. On top of that, she was such a boring, lackadaisical, standoffish, and off-putting host. She really needs to work on her professionalism, showmanship, people skills, and way she engages her audience. I also wish she would've done more to keep spectators who had a bit too much to drink from invading people's personal space while they were trying to enjoy their spotlight and sing. To end things on a high note, however, this place always has great customer service, and I'd especially like to give a shoutout to the waitress Laura and the kitchen manager Angie. They're fantastic and definitely keepers! read more

Location, location, location. This Friday's is the only sit down restaurant on the same floor as the AMC theatre in Tyson's. Add to that the mixed drink options before a movie and decent service & food makes me a weak fan but a fan none the less. Service is decent but slow, probably due to staffing shortages. We stick with drinks and appetizers and found items decent to good. The cotton candy drink is fun. The food is chain restaurant eats, it's consistent, nothing amazing but consistent with a few tasty surprises, mostly because of the sauces. Look, I love the food and I used to go to TGI Friday's when I was a kid in my home state of California, but when I went here, I now know why I avoid this place. I was in Tysons for movie night that I set up for myself after a hard first week due to class in Arlington and interning over at the National Press Club in Washington. Anyway, I got sat down immediately but at a high table even though there were other tables available. Every single place I've ever gone to since landing in DC, I'm forced to either sit at the bar or at a high table. Apparently you need to make a reservation ahead of time when you want to sit down at a lower altitude and save your knees, which is absolutely ridiculous. As kind as my server Anne was, she just kept disappearing on me. I got the sirloin with mashed potatoes and the broccoli. They were good but sadly it was the only shining moment of my night here. I'd rather go to Wendy's! The service was reasonably good though hence two stars but 1 star for ambiance and food. So strengths - location and service.
