We've had ongoing issues with our SunVault Battery ever since the transition from SunPower's app to SunStrongConnect. Honestly, it sometimes feels like SunStrong is messing with us, but that's a whole other story. What I can say is that Carlos has been an absolute lifesaver. He's quick to respond, gets our battery back up and running, and most importantly, he takes the time to explain everything clearly, which I really appreciate. If you're in the San Diego area and your SunPower warranty is no longer valid due to the bankruptcy, Carlos is the one to call. We were referred to him by our original salesperson, and I'm so grateful for that. I can be a bit of a tough customer, but Carlos always remains calm, patient, and professional. He's not trying to upsell us or push upgrades we don't need--he just focuses on solving the problem. This review is long time due. In solar installs, the service after years is super important. Carlos and team have been excellent and are just a phone call away. They did 2 big solar installs for us - 26KWp and 17KWp. Install experience was good, Roof never leaked. Site was left clean. Very professional & friendly team. Over the last 6+ years at one of the site, they've replaced solaredge micro inverters as some of the parts died. CM solar handled all warranty side with manufacturer and replacement happened with in a reasonable time. Their design is also pretty accurate. We were able to achieve 95%+ offset of the annual bill. Price wise also, CM solar is very competitive. Overall, very pleased and I would highly recommend their services. read more

This group has a background as electricians so they were able to address our electrical issues beyond installing and hooking up the solar. They were outstanding at coordinating all of the paperwork with SDG&E too. They also coordinated the necessary roofing before installing the solar panels. Super bad experience! Super bad service! I leased the solar system from CM, first of all from I decided to do and pay $1000 deposit (promised me the deposit would be back) until the project completed probably last more than 7months. And three or four months later I received the court monition because this company did not pay the materials... most of all I have not get my deposit back! CM electric had many flaws on my job, we had to hire a new electrician to correct the many mistakes on our home. Many light switches do not work, many breakers at the main panels and sub panels did not provide enough power to supply the equipment. Mislabeled panels. His employees quit on site and many items went missing from my home. He also did not put wires in conduits which is a fire hazard. read more

CM Solar Electric deserves 5 stars as they recently completed installing our solar system. Jorge sat down with my wife and I and explained how the system works, the cost for the installation and the steps it would take to get installed. He was constantly providing us updates as due to anticipated City Permit intervals caused a 4 week wait. Once the installation began, all items were installed as planned. The installers were all professional and left the area cleaner then they found it. The solar panel looks like its been there forever. Worked with Jorge until this AM. He seems to be nice guy, informative & upfront which is something I value. After communicating for a weeks, they scheduled to come see my roof next Monday to give me accurate quote. And I asked for reference in OC since he only gave me references in San Diego since I was worried about the distance a bit. And he replied to say that they signed a big project and won't be coming out anymore... So all that talking for nothing. lol Good luck to them... based on yelp review, they seem to be a good company but leaving customer who were getting ready to move forward high & dry doesn't deserve 5 star either... read more

CM Solar installed our system in December 2018. Instead of installing the panels for maximum electricity production they did just the opposite. They intended to install all 16 of my panels on the back northeast facing roof rather than the front southwest facing roof. Their first attempt to correct the problem was to move four panels from back to front. That still left my system under producing. They then admitted that for maximum generation they should have installed ten of the panels on the front roof to begin with. So they added another panel to the front (at not cost) but that still left the system under producing in my opinion. The owner told me it was the weather, it was the season, it was just me being impatient., etc. He promised that if I waited a full year and the system still under produced he would install another panel on the front and also move some more of the back panels to the front. I WAITED THE FULL YEAR AND THEN... The system under produced just as I knew it would. But when I contacted him about it he reneged on his promise basically saying it was my fault that they initially designed the system for minimum electrical generation! read more

CM Electric installed my panels on 10/14/2019 and they are working fine. The problem is that the company (One Source) CM Electric bought the solar panel from has not been paid for 3 months and they are now about put a lien on my house and are asking for $30,000 that CM Electric didn't pay. I have talked to Carlos several times and he indicated that he would pay One Source, but still no payment. CM Electric is a very scary company that doesn't pay it's bills, or maybe they are about to go out of business?????? I don't know, but all I get are lies and promises. read more

I wanted to install Solar for a long time, but my roof was about 20yrs old and I knew that a new roof had to be factored in. From the start, CM Solar offered both of those services. Having never worked with them, I did my due diligence, and met with 3 other companies. I took the double leap of faith and I'm glad I did. Quickly found their roofer, Martin was an ace. I also had him also replace all the plywood, the fascia around the roof, and a whole new gutter system. All top notch work, with an extra detail across the ridge line to add some street appeal. I wanted to increase attic ventilation. Martin added nice looking very low profile vents and the roof 2 solar co-ordination allowed him to place under the solar panels so you can't even see them. They added a layer of insulation into the roofing material that didn't exist before, and the solar mounts were placed during the roofing process. The electrical crew was next and did a top commercial quality job on my home. As a contractor, I see these installations all the time, and this one was done really well and not without complications. The main service breaker panel and SDGE entry needed to be updated in my older home. 4 charismatic guys involved and everything was discussed along the way, no surprises. They did their work quickly without cutting corners or quality. I also had them do a whole house ventilation fan and just time time for the summer heat, which turned out way better than expected. One speed bump in the job, thrown at us - then retracted by the city inspector, wound up proving to me that Carlos is an honorable person and company owner to do business with. I hope to have them install a hybrid water heater before the tax credit runs out. On the other hand, can't say how long before the novelty runs out on picking up my phone and seeing how much my plant is producing. But it's also reassuring that the only thing that will be leaking down from the roof will be dollars $$. Giving them 5 stars for this project. read more

First I wish to state that C M Solar Electric did a fine professional job of installing our residential solar system, the technicians were spot on in their work, but that is where all our praise for this company ends. We have been left with a mechanics lien on our property from their material supplier in an amount close to four thousand dollars. We have made numerous calls to their supplier to see if payment has been made for two months now only to be told they have not been paid. We have called CM Solar's marketing manager Jorge Vasquez and the company owner Carlos Melendez to request that CM Solar pay their supplier so as to have the mechanics lien on our house released, each time these men told us that it would be paid the next day which of course has been a lie on their part, were still stuck with a lien against our home because of CM Solar Electric's negligence. We have paid CM Solar in full in good faith that we would have a product to serve our needs, only to be strapped with an unpaid material invoice from their supplier in the amount of $3,789.52. Of course now our only course of action left is to sue this company for that amount after we pay their supplier. I really did not wish to post this awful review, it is unfortunate because this company seemed to have a good track record when we contracted with them and they did a fine job installing our system. My recommendation at this point is buyer be very aware! read more

I have had this company design and install a solar system for my home. While the work was finally completed, there were so many, many, many issues in working with this company. I could not rate this company low enough. Of the dozens of companies I have worked with for home service (3 homes over a couple of decades), this company is by far the worse. They say one thing and do another. They do not hold to any kind of schedule. Their guidance with the associated ygrene financing was wrong, costing us $1000+ more dollars than they stated. Their designers for the system did not take into account our requests initially. The longest delays were on their behalf, not the city inspections as they kept on saying. I could go on and on about the numerous issues, and provide all the documentation to support these claims. But given this is a simple website to rate companies, I can simply recommend to stay away from this company at all costs. read more

Manny and his brother Carlos really know their stuff and they have a "no pressure" sales pitch unlike the other Companies. By all means do your homework and get several quotes but make sure you get one from CM Solar Electric. Being a small, local company they are able to keep their prices down to give you the best deal and installed our system for a lot less than other installers quoted for the same system with the same specs. CM Solar Electric installed our Solar Panels. They did a great job. Carlos explained everything and was responsive to questions. The crew was very friendly and did their work in a efficient manner. They put up with me asking questions and were very friendly about it. Everything got done on time. City permit was passed the first time and due to the crews diligence, SDG+E approval to turn on came 1 day after the permit. My brother in laws solar system approval was a lot longer. System has been up and running a month, producing well, and I ran into a problem with the monitoring system. I texted Carlos and he called me and let me know his foreman would get it done. Overall couldn''t be happier! There is a lot of information and decisions to be made when buying and installing solar. I was quoted by seven local companies through Energy Sage and CM had very competitive rates and their reviews were solid. Jorge, our project manager was extremely responsive and answered all our questions through the whole process to include financing, install and going through all the hoops that sdge and the city make you jump through. After I was quoted on our job I did extensive research on the equipment they were proposing and was extremely pleased with the quality of products and cutting edge technology they put into their systems. They won''t sell you low end products nor will they try to sell you anything you don''t need. The install team was very professional and their workmanship was top notch. I would highly recommend this company to anyone entertaining buying solar for their home. Side note, I was informed they would most likely break some tiles on my roof which they did and replaced along with a dozen other tiles that were broken from solar leasing companies that we had previously entertained. After extensive research this is standard with all installs, expect it if you have clay or ceramic tiles. read more

This review only pertains to the initial contact with Jorge and his project proposal. I put the project on hold for personal reasons but will call Jorge as soon as I'm ready to become energy independent. Jorge did not approach me with a sale's pitch. We had a great conversation about solar power (the good and the bad). I'm pretty sure that if my energy situation did not benefit from going solar, he would have advised me not to do it. I never felt it was about making a sale. Jorge explained all of my choices (technologies, features, pros and cons, etc) and helped me put together the best system for me. He didn't try to sell me the cheapest (low quality) stuff but he also understood that, as a teacher with a limited income, I wouldn't benefit from deluxe/luxury level equipment either. We arrived at the right system for my needs; proven hardware with great warranties. He also included a necessary upgrade to my electrical panel (house built in 1957) for a very reasonable price (based on previous estimates I had acquired). Again, this is a review of the initial process I went through with Jorge. I have no idea what the actual process will be like, but so far, with Jorge managing my solar project, I feel confident that it will all work out great.
