BE AWARE!!!! Ive been using Clutter since December 18. Havent experienced any real issues until 6/3. Recently I've had bank fraud attached to my debit card and was issued a new card on 5/17. Because of the fraud I chose not to add or update the info and pay monthly to merchants. Clutter being one. Now I understand my payments are due on the 3rd of every month but I did want to use another card. So I never contacted clutter with my new card. My plan was to call on the 11th because I needed some extra time. Well on the 3rd clutter was able to charge my new card in full. When question how they received the new info they said it was the same card being used since December. False! I just received the card which was impossible. I expressed that acct was not to be used for payments to clutter and they said they wouldn't issue me a refund. My bank states merchants can contact visa to get card info when they have recurring contracts and need new card info. Clutter states they haven't contacted anyone. I've also forwarded my email invoices proving that all my payments were used with another card. After speaking with several people and no explanation BOOM the last representative tells me that a change was made at 8:30pm online on May 28th. I explained it wasn't me. I had no intentions of placing that info on the site. I actually was unable to pay on the 3ed as well which is another reason I NEVER updated the old card. Funny how I spoke to 3 different people without any explanation as to how my new card was on file but after my accusations against them, suddenly a change was made on the 28th online. It's very clear what's going here at this point. I smell a cover up. Although now they have put me in a bind I will figure it. But be carefulnof releasing your account information with this company. Billing seems to be reckless. I will have to find an option to protect my accounts. Clutter refuses to remove any account information off their system. Im very saddened by this as I now have to figure out the financial stress they have hit me with and also look into other storage units. Because I'm obligated I will take the hit. This is just review to assure people that your info is not protected and these people all seeking their money at all cost. Oh, I also contacted the office was on hold for over an hour. I decided to stay on hold, grab another phone and call. The second phone was answered within mins while I was on hold on the other line. The representative then told me that dept was closed for the day. I reached out the next day and spoke with someone. She sent a follow up via text. Now that's true professionalism. read more

I need to removal my things because this has been an increasingly financial hardship to pay monthly fee $476.00. I was not able to get an appointment date for my items to be returned until 6-7 days going into the next month & being forced to pay for an entire month of August after just paying for July... Clutter is refusing to honor the move out date unless money is paid! No prorate nothing .... How cruel & mean .... This was never a factor when I was getting my move out date & they were unable to give me any earlier date.... This is very Ruthless due to the fact you have no control option to retrieve and move your belongings yourself! There was another incident where clutter refused to take phone payment.... & that had been my norm .... I ended up receiving a late fee by being forced to pay online.... However it was not true about making payment over the phone and have continued back making phone payment..... but refusing to honor a move out with no grace period or prorate is HORRIBLE! Being a first time storage renter, Stephanie A. was able to explain to me how the entire process works, from the cost and breakdown for the multiple unit sizes available, the best size for my personal needs, how easy it would be to reschedule if necessary, and how easy it would be to request for my items through my portal. Clutter comes to your location, packs your items, shows you how much storage you're using, and let's you see where they are in the jobs ahead of you and you can see when they will get to you. All this on your phone- just WOW! On Sunday, Robert and David were the reps who moved my items from my storage unit, and they were awesome to work with, just like the crew I had in July. They made everything smooth and easy for me. I didn't have to worry about a thing. I will be using Clutter again, this Sunday, and I know I'm in great hands. Clutter Storage is indeed, "as good as it gets!" I was paying $175 a month for another storage unit and their rates were going up in October. I am a single woman and wasn't sure how I was going to find someone to move my stuff to a different location with a more competitive rate. Previous movers I have used double their rates for the first location and charge up to $100 (or more) an hour. Clutter Storage is FANTASTIC! They sent Dave (from Orange County) to help me. He was a clean cut, intelligent, nice guy and had my stuff packed up and ready to go in under an hour! It cost me NOTHING to move it and has cut my monthly storage costs in HALF. Everything was labeled and bar coded. They even provide boxes if you need them. They do it all. This is definitely the way to go. I wish I had known about them sooner. read more

This used to be a great business when they first started. They were more grass roots and actually cared about the customers. Now, they've grown too big and are terrible with customer care. They keep raising their prices so they're no longer competitive with cost. They charge extra fees for a lot of different things that they never used to charge for, they lie on their delivery timing so that their drivers get compensated more, and when you choose the option of flexible delivery beware that they may not give you fair warning of their delivery day and time and if you happen to miss it, they charge you a $100 fee. This happened to me very recently and when I called to rectify the situation they gave me the runaround. And although I told them that I'm going through cancer treatments and not working and cannot afford an extra fee of $100, they could've cared less about my circumstances and refused to help me by withdrawing that charge. I'm so fed up and disappointed with this company and what they've turned into - yet another corporate monster. I don't recommend anyone get involved with this company. They are crooks now and don't care about customers. I am doing everything I can to get my stuff out of their facility and will never use their services again!!!!!! read more

This company is great! Javier and Anthony were the two who came to move my things. They were on time, very efficient and very nice young men. All my items were photographed and logged. I can see everything on my phone. The cost was nothing to me but the price of storage. I was saved the cost of boxes, back breaking work of packing and then renting a truck to get it into storage. I had really high expectations based on most of the previous reviews but overall my experience with Clutter has been terrible. I scheduled my move well in advance and was following my "team" on my phone all morning the day of my move. I got a notice saying that a new team was on the way which I thought nothing of until they arrived. They were clearly not prepared for my move and I could tell right from the start which made me very concerned for my belongings. I asked what happened and they said they were sent last minute because my original team had gotten backed up. I decided to call customer service to see if they were going to send someone else to help but they said they were fully booked and the best they could do was come next week to finish whatever the team onsite couldn't finish. Now I'm stuck paying an extra weeks worth of rent and missing a flight and planned trip because of this. Hopefully they can make this right but so far I'm now in a far worse place than when I started. read more

Though they did take care of my items, I have had an awful experience with customer service here. Information has been dripped and I get roundabout answers every time I call with concerns or shipping update inquiries. And be warned - though they say they will move your items for you, it has to be within a certain mileage of their storage facility. That certain mileage seems to change on the whim of the workers that week, as I have gotten a multitude of responses when asking if they would be able to move my items from Long Beach to Santa Barbara. read more

I'm very surprised to see so many positive reviews on here. It's unfortunate because I think mine could've been if they'd been straightforward with me. I had very few items for them to pick up & had them ready when they mover came so he only took 13 minutes. It was convenient because he came (close to) on time & didn't take long packing my belongings. I inquired about the price breakdown & he explained it'd be credited back to me based on a reassessment. HOWEVER at no point over the course of "getting a quote" or having the items picked up did anyone specify that the minimum charge for service with Clutter is $750. And at no point can you have any amount of it credited back to you, even if you have only a few items that are stored for only a short time. When I called to inquire about the charge, it was finally stated explicitly that there was a minimum charge & that even upon cancelling the service & collecting my items, I wouldn't be refunded any amount in spite of it having been less than 24 hours since the initial pickup. I'd made it clear upon first contact with Clutter that I only planned to store my belongings with them for 1-2 months, but at no point did the rep explain that this would mean paying $750 for 1-2 months of storage, which frankly would be asinine. If any of these stipulations had been made clear, I certainly would not have have for this service & I caution anyone on paying for it, especially anyone who only needs very little space for a short time. read more

The whole experience with Clutter has been very unpleasant for me. The sales representative failed to communicate several important information before I signed the contract, and the mover was arriving late and forgot to pack several items. First, the sales representative didn't mention that they'll pre-charged $100 before the the appointment. Second, he didn't explain what can be stored and what's can't be. I didn't know we can't store any liquid and food-related items until the night before the appointment and it was too late for me to find other storage space for those stuff. Third, my appointment was supposed to be 7-10am but no one explained what's my order (eg. job #4) and what to expect beforehand. Moreover, not only the mover arrived at last minute (10am) but also she needed to take a "mandatory lunch break" for almost an hour. (No one has informed me about that possibility.) This messed up my whole schedule and I had no choice but taking my final exam while she was packing and moving my stuff which created lot of noise. Lastly, when I did a final check, I found out she forgot to pack several items and that also messed up my original arrangement for my stuff. She ended up packing some of my kitchen stuff with my clothes and other random items she forgot to pack. I'm very disappointed about the Clutter's service quality given the expensive price I paid. My lease expired and I had to move on short notice. I've used other moving companies but my experience is that most take their time getting my things in and out of my apartment and then charge an astronomical fee for drive time and miscellaneous hidden charges. Luckily clutter breaks the mold. Not only were they available on short notice, but they also touched base twice beforehand to make sure they had all of the relevant information to properly prepare for the move. They arrived early on the day of my move and we're ready to begin right on time. After meticulously inventorying my items, Conrad and Joseph began moving my items to their truck with expedience and care. My entire apartment was empty in less than 90 minutes. The best part of the entire experience was that the clock didn't start ticking until the first load of items was on its way downstairs. In addition to great moving services, Clutter also provides excellent storage options. I was able to secure a storage facility that housed all of my belongings for a reasonable monthly price. All of my items are listed online in my own customer profile, and I'll be able to have my items delivered to me (for free) as I need them. Why anyone would store their belongings anywhere else is beyond me.
