I made sure to make an appointment to try to avoid long wait times. I arrived 15 min prior to my appointment hoping to be in an out as soon as possible. NOPE. First the lady tells me theres an hour wait even though I had an appointment. I explain to her I made the appointment early because I have to work and she says well sorry the fastest we can get it done is maybe 45 minutes. UGH what a way to start my morning. I decided to come here based on great Yelp reviews and its proximity to the Sierra Vista Mail that I wanted to visit that day. I'm so glad I decided upon this shop. I called beforehand around 10am to see if it would be possible for my Mazda 5 to be checked that day and was informed it would. I arrived there about an hour later and was immediately addressed. My car was able to be checked and serviced all in the same day. I was treated with respect and felt like I could trust my car in their hands. Came in for a smog check. Was greeted and helped within a few seconds of entering the building at 830 AM. I felt taken care of with friendly and professional staff. Prices were reasonable for a smog check. Waiting area was clean and was surprised to see complimentary refreshments for adults (coffee) and snacks for kids (pretzels, gold fish snacks, etc.). Brought my Ford Ranger in for a smog and break issues. The smog was done but when I went to pull out of the parking lot the brake issues clearly were not resolved. They put in a brake booster that the truck did not need. I went back in the shop and told the fella at the desk the brake issue was not addressed and why did the mechanic think I needed a brake booster? Well, long story short, I caught the auto shop dead to rights, trying to cheat me. The mechanic straight out and out lied and tried to cheat me. The fella at the desk apologized and said the mechanic was a problem that needed to be resolved. Anyway, after leaving my truck again to have my booster put back in which works just fine; they resolved the (abs) problem. All the sudden I needed new brakes. They said the mechanic didn't calibrate the old ones correctly. They also said the old booster brake had a leak and that's why he replaced it...a lie again. This time by front desk. I told them that was a lie and I could prove it. They again backed down. I wasn't even offered a ride home and the best I got was a "Well, will see you later." At 180 an hour, the prices for parts are almost double everyone elses, I thought I would have received better treatment and service. I got lies. If it had been anyone one else with less knowledge about trucks than me they would have been taken. I wish they would take the Holy Bible off the table in the waiting room if they are going to do this nonsense. Well there is his version and there is mine. I have no vested interest in lying. They purposely put in a brake booster that had nothing to do with the issue. Then I called them on it and they changed their minds it was "okay after all." Then they tell me the mechanic didn't calibrate the brakes properly. Now the owners want to try and disown their involvement when in fact they said the (mechanic was a problem.) The booster wasn't replaced because of the ABS, one has nothing to do with the other. It wasn't a matter of trying to fix the issue they already knew the brakes just needed pads, and there was nothing wrong with the brakes to cause the issue I brought it in for. The mechanic saw an opportunity and said I needed a booster I did not need, to earn the Clovis Auto Shop close to 700.00. They figured I wouldn't know any better if they put in an expensive part when what really happened was it was the ABS system malfunctioning from a bad front wheel bearing. I was off on the hourly rate, but their parts are hugly expensive! Needed a good honest straightforward shop. I'm not the least confused about what they tried to pull. It was dishonest and at every turn I had to call them on their dishonesty. Just so happens I worked on classic cars for years. I believe they still have the mechanic who tried to cheat me. That tells me management was involved in the scam. read more

They had done a big repair job on my car weeks ago, and I was having a problem with the car running rough. I took the car in, they wanted to look it over to make sure the work the had done on it was good. Not only was the work that they had done one done properly, they found something that they didn't work on and did a quick fix for free and I had my car back in less then two hours. If your vehicle is. Legally modified stay away from these morons. They failed my 2007 Ford F-150 because I had installed a legal Airaid intake system and a legal Poweraid mass airflow spacer. Both CARB listed and approved for installation on my vehicle. These morons based their failure on three year old CARB documentation and their failure to verify the equipment legality. On top of this stupidity they went ahead With the full test and charged me for it. After they had visually failed my truck when they opened my hood. Morons and thieves. This place has a night drop off service which is usually indicative in my experience of a decent garage. This place is in my opinion decent. The garage attentively called me the morning after I drop my car off and discuss repairs without being pushy although some of the repairs suggested we're not necessary to address the problems brought up. I understand that a garage needs to make business and the repairs were not completely out of line with the problems address either so I will let that point lie. I am going to take half a star off for not suggesting the most parsimonious repairs and take another full star off because this garage refuses to install parts that customers bring in themselves at least according to a young woman at the cash register who seemed to take less than genuine interest in my weekend plans in order to curry favor with me as a potential repeat customer. Forcing customers to except the markups I'm parts that we all know are available easily and economically online in 2018 is in my humble opinion not acceptable. There are plenty of honest garages who will help you to save money on parts and gladly take your money for the labor required to put these parts in your car. I suggest finding such a garage if you can but if you need a night drop off option and can accept expensive parts then this garage is an option available to you. read more

They quoted $99 to diagnose my cars starting problem and spent 2 days testing. At the end of 2 days they could find nothing wrong but were able to provide me test results to assure me what was working and advice on avoiding the intermittent problem I've been having. I expected to pay a few hundred based on the time they spent but Raul kept to the $99. read more

I had dropped in one day about a month ago for a smog check. It was the first place I found while driving south on Clovis Ave from Herndon Ave. I was immediately made to feel like I had found a home for my automotive needs! I have never been to a shop before where I walked in and was immediately greeted with warm smiles. Usually, you walk into a front office and wait until someone FINALLY notices you, and tells you that they will be with you in a few minutes, but not here! They were fast, friendly, and professional. My vehicle, (which I bought used, with almost 100,000 miles on it), was overheating, and has many issues due to a lack of maintenance by the previous owner. So, after, the necessary repairs to the cooling system, (which was a lot of stuff, and finished in less than a day), Jim helped me to lay out a step-by-step plan to get the other maintenance items taken care of in little chunks, which is a Godsend for me as a single dad and full time college student with a very tight budget!
