Done. Finally done…read more Took nearly eight months, but I'm free at last! Ahem. Here's the story... Last year I moved, and consequently, I searched for a storage unit. I chose CubeSmart based on the reviews and on the proximity of where I wished to move to. At the end of June, I made the reservation online for my unit. I went in the following days to do paperwork, pay a down payment, and purchase a lock on-site. My family and friends helped me profusely in packing and putting everything in the storage unit. Seriously to you all, thank you. I'm truly blessed to have you in my life. That said, the move-in process was fairly simple. I think all the logistics took half an hour, an hour at most, before I was led to my unit and provided with a security code. This security code made it possible for me to park in the garage and access the building. The unit I got was spacious and I may have honestly been able to get a smaller one. I do think though I got the smallest size possible. The unit was air conditioned and accessible by elevator. Aside from this, there were dollies everywhere, making it painless to move my belongings about. A few trips throughout the months and we finally cleared everything yesterday. I really should've done this sooner, but life got in the way. At any rate, called earlier today and they checked the unit. It was clear. Got a receipt confirming my move-out process being completed. Everything went smoothly. I really can't recommend this location enough. Alexandra, the general manager, was easy to work with, and CubeSmart, as a whole, stands out to me with its modern and efficient amenities. Seriously speaking, aside from the great customer service and stellar security, their app is extremely user friendly. I would pay there monthly and never had any issues.

I drove there from Boca Raton, 50 miles one way! When I arrived, the doors were locked! I waited for the manager for more than an hour! I had the pleasure of being assisted by Gina for my move in. She was informative , professional, kind and efficient. Only thing is the door in the front was a little wonky but my overall experience was great.

When I…read morewent to my storage unit, the whole floor smelled like mothballs and there were several moths flying around. Every time I go there, I see moths and I have a very expensive couch that I'm storing there and I am really worried about it getting infested with moths. The last two times I went the elevators were not working and one elevator could not take me to my floor. Had there not been someone on the premises that I eventually found, I would not have gotten up to my unit. She said there was a work order for the elevator. But two days later when I came again, the other elevator was out of service and the worker said that she put a work order in. This is a huge facility with only two elevators. If one ejector is not working, that's a problem. On top of that, there a wet e no carts available. The worker said there should be 4 carts. First of all, there should be way more than 4 carts available for such a large facility. Second, she said people take the carts and put them in their storage units. Really?! Well if you know people are doing this, why don't you require customers to give their ID to get a cart and then when they return the cart, they get their ID back? Why don't they have a system in place to prevent customers from stealing carts and putting them in their units? Why do customers feel the need to steal carts? If there were enough carts, there would be no need to hoard them. The topping on the cake was seeing empty junk food wrappers and cans of soda in the elevator. Perfect breeding ground for rats and roaches! This place sucks!

(Good call in hindsight) I thought the point of a storage unit was for them to provide me with a clean and dry place to store my goods. I soon learned that wasn't true. In September, we got a bit of rain with that fake hurricane. I didn't check on my unit, as I didn't have any need to go inside. A few weeks later, my brother went to get something for me and my whole unit was flooded. I had electronics galore including a camera system and RFID chip entry system that were ruined and wooden desks that got swollen from the moisture. My leather couch molded - yes, of course I cleaned it off but that musty smell never goes away. Those were just the large items I mentioned. They never even offered to move me (when I finally asked, they said they didn't have any units available), they never offered even $1 off my rental, they never put fans to help dry it. It took several weeks for them to fix the problem. I felt bad for the manager because I could tell she was speaking to corporate on our behalf but her hands were tied. The only I gave two stars was because the manager was really nice and at least made an attempt to keep me informed of the repair progress. Full disclosure: I did get reimbursed from the insurance company but $2k doesn't cover even close to what I lost. Be careful renting here.
