Senior spinach omelet with hash browns and 2 egg breakfast with patty sausage hash browns. Both with pancakes. Our server's name was Wendy.

Great food at an excellent price. Service was fast and our server was very personable. We really loved the family atmosphere.

Feeling adventurous on an early Saturday morning, we wandered into Gainesville and hit the Clock Restaurant for breakfast. Another seeming throwback to an earlier time, this place features a four-seat counter area and a mixture of tables and booths stuck in the 90s. Aged, but clean for what we could see. Belgian waffle combo and a Paul Bunyan breakfast were what we decided on, eggs, waffles, pancakes, home fries, bacon and sausage. Bacon cooked to order, no complaints. Home fries a little on the mushy side. Pancakes were light and fluffy. Another fairly solid meal - nothing flashy, just good breakfast fare.

we've eaten there over the years, but it had been a while. We were getting our car worked on and decided to have breakfast. While we waited, we were sat down immediately. Still, has that old school diner feel with a counter, or you can sit at at tables/booth. Our waitress was super friendly. We always had a full cup of coffee, and it was actually pretty clean from what we remember it being there. Food was above average for that type of restaurant. The omelet was fluffy. I can say. I wish my biscuit was a little warmer, like it had been made earlier.

I think the restaurant is great. It had good vibes all around. It reminded me of this restaurant my mom would take me to when I was a kid back in Oklahoma. I believe they have good food. I won't be getting the French toast combo again. The fresh toast was very small and just was not enough food for the price. Next time I'll try a omelette but I do think this place has great food. The French toast was too small for me. Service was great so I do recommend people try this place out.

The clock restaurant has great prices and service. Also very quick and tasty. I got the sausage gravy & biscuits + the egg croissant sandwich.

Friendly servers, classic breakfasts done right, reasonable prices, comfortable atmosphere. What you want for a great diner is here. Thank you, I'll be back. Wandered in from the GMC dealership while my car was getting repaired. Great find!

A great place to grab a bite in Gainesville. I came for lunch, around 1230 on a Sunday and the place was packed, but I still got seated right away. The staff was friendly, and helpful in my decision making process. I ended up ordering the Paul Bunyan, which consists of 3 eggs, 3 sausage links, 3 slices of bacon, hash browns, and either biscuits and gravy, a biscuit, or pancakes. I went with eggs over easy, hash browns with onions and cheese, and biscuits and gravy. The eggs were prepared well, the bacon was crispy, and the hash browns indeed had cheese. I didn't taste or see onions, but that's alright. The biscuit for the biscuits and gravy was pretty large, and split in half. The biscuit itself was well prepared and cooked, and more fluffy than dense. The gravy was well seasoned, with some pretty good chunks of sausage. The coffee was good, the food was good, and I didn't hear any complaints from any of the other clientele about the restaurant. If you're looking for a hearty breakfast, look no further than The Clock. You can thank me later!!! :)

You have to check this place out. It's a whole vibe. When I walked in it was like stepping back into the 1980s, before chain restaurants outnumbered family owned diners. You know the type, drop ceiling, corian and fake wood paneling, wall to wall carpet and a vacuum in the corner, knickknacks and old art. But very bright and clean. Paper place mats with Florida map with illustrated local attractions. A wall of kids fan art. And this place has clocks everywhere. There was a couple meeting with an agent about getting a mortgage on a new house, I heard them mention they'd been there most of the afternoon. Seemed like a really laid back place. The staff was so friendly, they actually comped my meal because Vystar had been down for weeks and my card declined. The Veggie burger was great, I think it was a beyond burger or something like it. Hard to tell the difference from a beef burger and not what I would've expected from a diner! Other food on the menu looked like typical diner fare: club sandwiches, meatloaf and gravy and fries and greebeans type of thing. Breakfast served all day. I'll definitely be back!

Old school style dinner food great for breakfast or lunch. Constantly moving around servers filling coffee and ice teas. If you're looking some good old fashion food this is a great spot. The Turkey Ruben is bomb considering it's a healthier alternative. The prices are reasonable and service is good. It tends to be busy so parking and wait time can a little longer but it's worth it.

Perfect breakfast spot a little away from campus. Classic diner feel with basic solid breakfast, friendly waitresses and cute clocks at each booth! Parking lot seemed full but we were seated right away. Fluffy big pancakes, crispy hash browns, delicious omelettes and creamy sausage gravy.

Needless to say this the Metro diner truly surpassed my expectations. We walked in and were greeted immediately and asked if we would like to sit outside which is a covered area or indoors. We chose inside given it being a hot humid day and wanting that extra comfort. The vibe felt amazing with all the smiles and yes even though busy all the wait staff was hopping doing their business! We were seated and told about the specials and given the menu. I was unsure what I wanted because I think I could have eaten a little bit of everything! I did ask the waitress a couple of suggestions and one of them was the pancakes I had chosen. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day! How cool is that and rare. They had a chicken and waffle special that was actually half a chicken ( pieces ) fried with Belgium waffles, powdered sugar and sweet strawberry butter served with their signature sweet and spicy sauce. I'll be honest when I had seen someone else get their plate I was surprised. It looked absolutely incredible and well tremendous. On their specials they had banana pudding pancakes or waffles, this also sounded amazing. It had walnuts, butter and powdered sugar and definitely banana. I am most certainly glad that I chose this as it was incredibly. Super fluffy, flavorful and the banana was not overwhelming there was a perfect balance of flavors. There was a sauce on them that I assume was the banana pudding. It was light and just enough to not overpower the pancake itself. We had also ordered croissant French toast and my son absolutely loved them. They were crispy on the outside yet fluffy and flavorful with a fantastic texture topped with some powdered sugar. Some ordered hash browns, these were also delicious and homemade with a great texture and the portion like all the other dishes pretty large. We had all tried the biscuits and gravy. These too were delicious with such a nice balance of flavors. The biscuits indeed homemade. We were all very pleased with everything. Some eggs over easy and bacon cooked perfectly. The coffee honestly the best I've had in years. I'm a coffee drinker and I cannot figure this coffee was outstanding! I had four cups and wish for more ha ha. Best of all I must compliment the service. I have not been to a restaurant of any sort with such attentive service, quality service as we received here in years. The waitress kept refilling my coffee and water, brought my son more soda ( even a container to take his home ) asked everyone if they needed anything at appropriate times and was extremely kind and considerate. I will be back and I highly recommend the Metro Diner for a great meal, quality service and relaxed environment that you will enjoy. Seating is divided between indoor and outdoor patio. Order at the counter, get a number and then they will bring food out to you. Self serve water is available inside. We were there a busy day. Wait to order wasn't too bad and we found a table outside, but nobody was bussing any tables so basically customers sitting down were left clearing the dishes from the table of the people before them & wiping down the table. Nobody from the restaurant came out to help or apologize and it wasn't until dishes were almost toppling out of the bin that anyone took them away. Menu is pretty diverse - you can get some traditional items or more eclectic. We ordered the green goddess salad, croque mademoiselle (ham & cheese sandwich) on gluten free bread & okonomiyaki (japanese pancakes with cloud eggs). It took probably 30 min to get our food. The food presentation is really lovely & feels special when it's delivered. However, taste left something to be desired. The Japanese pancakes weren't good. The egg specifically looked really pretty all puffed up, but was so bad none of us were willing to have more than one bite. There were some other funky flavors going on there as well that detracted from enjoying it. The ham & cheese sandwich was okay, but the cheese is put on the outside, including a runny cheese, so it's a total mess to try and eat. Definitely do not order this one on a date! We ended up just eating the inside portion. It does come with a small green goddess type salad, which is nice. The entree green goddess appeared great when delivered. Loved the light, fresh dressing and ingredients. However, lots of the lettuce had sort of rotting tips, which made me worried to eat it especially since this isn't the cleanest place. Despite appreciating the quirkiness of the restaurant and the selection of fresh options they offer, we won't be returning.

I went to the Luke's Bagels location under the Standard this past week and was disappointed. I hadn't been here in a little bit, especially since Bagels & Co. just opened down the street. But I was craving a Luke's Bagels, so I got there around 8:30, when they opened ready to order. Unfortunately, no one was at the counter when I came in. Someone popped out from the back to take my order a little while's later though. Their bagel selection was extremely limited, more so than usual. They didn't have poppy seed or sesame seed bagels. This was surprising, as I thought this location was sent fresh bagels each morning, I guess not. Luckily, I was able to order a bacon, egg, and cheese on a toasted Asiago, along with a toasted plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese. This took roughly 15 minutes to come out, which was longer than I expected. Upon delving into my bagels, I noticed a couple things that were different from my previous visits last semester. The bagels were definitely smaller, had less cream cheese, and didn't taste as fresh. The BEC had ample amounts of American cheese and the eggs were good, but there was barely any bacon! There was MAYBE two meager pieces on the bagel, I didn't even get bacon in most of my bites. The Asiago bagel still had a decent taste, with a nice sharp Asiago. But it just wasn't very fresh tasting like they've been in the past. The texture wasn't awful, but it wasn't what it used to be. The plain bagel with cream cheese was lackluster. The plain bagel was just fine, as it too was not very fresh. The strawberry cream cheese was decent and not too sweet, which I appreciate. I also like that their cream cheeses have more of whipped texture to them. But there certainly wasn't as much cream cheese on this bagel as I've received in the past! Overall, I was not very pleased with my experience here. The bagels were not fresh at all, the sandwich was lacking bacon, and I just thought the quality appeared be lower. Maybe I came on an off day, but the bagels were not fresh and the assortment they had available was very limited. The texture of the bagels still has a softer center, with a chewy outside , but the outside was too chewy and hard. The size and portions were decreased as well. The BEC had too much cheap, American cheese, and lacked bacon. The plain bagel with cream cheese didn't have much smear on it. For being about $19 for two bagels, not worth it. This makes me sad as I used to love Luke's, but this was not a good visit. I hope next time I come here it is better!
