Climanergy was sent by our home warranty company which makes me a bit cautious but after reading other reviews thought it fair to give them a try. The manager called me promptly on the first business day after filing a claim and set an appointment for the following day, things were off to a great start. The following day, they called ahead as promised and the technician arrived ON TIME! TERRIFIC! The technician was pleasant and was not bothered by my numerous inquiries and essentially looking over his shoulder as well as answered my questions in a straightforward fashion. His approach to A/C service was methodical and yielded a relatively fast repair that got our system up and running in short order. Hopeless. Tech didn't know anything. I called him because few rooms were getting very low airflow and not cooling in summer. He spent less than 5 mins, didn't even enter the attic, and said ductwork needs to be replaced and caused unnecessary panic. I called another company after that and that tech went into the attic and saw that the damper motor was not working and fixed the issue for me. 1 star is probably an overrating for this company. read more

Seriously people, run away! Tech came out months ago and repaired short on t-stat. While they were out, they suggested to me to level the condenser. I leveled the condenser per their suggestion using a treated piece of lumber. Well, flash forward 7 months and the condenser craps out, that's ok, it's 19 years old. The tech tells my warranty company that the reason the condenser failed is the way I leveled the condenser, saying the unit was unstable. This is absolutely garbage, it's a 19 year old unit. Good response time and communication. I have an AC unit that did not cool under a certain temperature. They did not resolve issue. Had them out twice in a year through American Home Shield warranty (btw NEVER EVER sign up for a warranty with them. I had it through my house purchase. They suck). First time all they did was refill the refrigerant. Refrigerant leaked out. 2nd time they came out they found a leak, supposedly blocked it. Same issue 1 month later. They not only repeatedly charged me for failing to fix anything, they would not honor their warranty or now even call me back. Another company said they put in the cheapest thermostat they had ever seen (And it was not even needed) they also did not see the coil was bad and he broke a valve fitting. Climanergy reported to our home warranty insurance insufficient maintenance (dirty coils) for our outside unit that I just cleaned last month (and that I clean annually). The tech also shined a flashlight on our still clean very expensive return filter and said it needed to be changed. He then went outside did little to nothing and collected a $125 service fee. All and all we were completely ripped off. We now have to pay to have another company come out and diagnose our issue. Oh the tech also reported he cleaned my already cleaned coils... which he didn't because we could see him through the window. Will report to the BBB. read more

I had trepidation about what kind of HVAC service company my home warranty policy would connect me to. The tech from Climanergy was able to come the next day, diagnose and fix the problem. Recently, my outdoor AC unit quit working. My home warranty company, Old Republic, sent a tech from Climanergy out to assess. He determined that fire ants were the cause and replaced a fuse. (~$250) He noted that there were several more piles of dead ants inside the unit, but he didn't clean them out, or give me the opportunity to clean them out or spray ant killer inside the panel. Couple days later, the AC goes out again. Again we called Old Republic, and they said a tech would come out for a recall (no charge). Same tech shows up. Says again that it is fire ants (despite the fact that we had saturated the ground and hoses around the AC with ant killer after the last call), and replaces the hard starter. Charges another $250! There was clearly not a NEW ant infestation. It was the same piles of dead ants that were there two days ago! If he had bothered to clean them out, probably nothing else would have gone wrong. And he should NOT have charged for a recall. I will NEVER use this company again, and I would recommend against anyone else using them as well. (Incidentally, Old Republic is a terrible home warranty company; they did not cover a single penny of the expenses, and still charged us a $60 call fee). read more

Inept is too high of a compliment for this failure of a company. The dude who came out to service our unit looked like a deer in headlights--he filled the Freon (no thoughts as to why it might be completely empty after being filled 3 months ago) and did nothing else. Wouldn't a competent tech actually go to figure out WHY there isn't Freon in the first place?? So I call to get the tech back out, bc, low and behold, the Freon lasts TWENTY-SIX hours before being completely drained again, they can't get out for four days (This is THEIR screw up, not mine), and they can send out the same terrible tech. I ask if they can have the supervisor come out with him bc he clearly didn't know what he was doing. Turns out, THIS DUDE IS THE SUPERVISOR!! I can't even. My AC stopped working for 5 days. In 100 degree weather, this was unbearable. Climanergy was sent out as part of my home warranty. The technician, Shoaib, came out the first day and reconfigured the internal AC unit. My AC worked for a few hours and turned off and on the rest of the night. I called Climanergy the next day. Schoaib came out again and serviced the AC. Schoaib was pleasant and professional both times. He resolved the problem. My AC has been working for the last few days without any issues. read more

I waited all day for a HVAC 11am to 4pm appointment. The tech said he got lost and wound up in Leander. He arrived after 6pm. Going back through records, I found out that he was with the same company our home warranty company sent back in 2014. That visit was a kid that worked on our system for 90 minutes and gave up saying he had another call. When he did not return that day, the warranty company sent another company that found wires disconnected behind the thermostat, in the attic, and on the outside unit, The bad company is Climanergy in Round Rock. I have now demanded that the warranty company never send that poor excuse for a company back to my residence. Rating them a 1 star because 0 stars is not allowed. read more

I have used Climanergy several times in the past and have always found them to be honest and up to the task. He has never charged me for an service or part that is not needed. When I had to get some new equipment installed, he went out of his way to do it professionally and quickly. I now get my annual tune-up service done from him to make sure my system is running the as best as possible and not costing me anything extra in electricity bill. Highly recommended. read more

Our home warranty company assigned Climanergy to us when our air conditioning went out. The technician, "AJ," arrived and barely spoke two words to my wife. I arrived home, and he told me a capacitor went out, and that if we changed the air filter this wouldn't happen. Thing is, I had just changed out the air filter. And I'm not sure why he was so rude to my wife. Fast forward three weeks, the a/c went out again (same problem), and once again the warranty company assigned Climanergy. They told us they planned to send the same guy. Based on his unprofessional demeanor the previous time, we requested a different company from our warranty company. The other company's tech arrived and fixed the problem. He was friendly, and wasn't afraid to discuss the problems with my wife. He informed her that if AJ had done his job properly, the capacitor would not have failed again. (He had neglected to flip some sort of high-voltage switch or something.) So, the new tech corrected the problem, and the house is cooling down once again. read more

I recently had an issue with another company's customer service and ability to fix my a/c, and was introduced to Climanergy. Climanergy came out early the very next day to quickly identify and correct the problem. They were fast, completely transparent, explained the problem in a way that I could easily understand, and were honest. I couldn't have been more pleased from start to finish with the quality of service provided. If you rely on a home warranty company for repairs, your ability to choose your own contractor is limited. Sometimes you get a nasty surprise. Several different HVAC repair companies have worked on my 24 year old system over the past 5 years or so, but Climanergy is the only one I will allow in my house now. The incompetence of the others is irrelevant to this review, except that if you have a choice, I would recommend choosing Climanergy. On every single occasion of a system breakdown where they were assigned, they showed up faster than the others, kept good communication throughout the process, managed to procure the necessary parts quickly (where others were taking a week or more), and fixed the problem immediately after getting the parts. read more

These guys were contracted by American Home Shield to come to my house for a service call. The technician was very knowledgeable and thorough. He inspected all aspects of the system as well as the electrical. The unit was working again by the time he arrived, but after he looked everything over, he was able to explain to me what the issue was in short order. He also discovered that the fuse in the breaker box was inadequate for the unit! Thus far not really impressed with their getting to the job on time. They were scheduled this morning were given full access to the property via a lockbox and the code for the box. I left instructions to contact me when the tech was headed to the property as a courtesy jester since I didn't need to be there. I misssed a call from the office an was told "since I didn't answer my phone, I had been rescheduled for the afternoon between 2 and 6". They had already dropped this property once before. With this kind of scheduling service, I am not likely to recommend them to any of the other Realtors (who are also property managers managing several thousand properties) I work with. The only reason they are given a single star is because Yelp does not have the option of assigning zero stars. A technician was dispatched from this company by the home warranty group Old Republic. My AC went out and being a licensed contractor I diagnosed the problem myself for two reasons, one to eliminate any potential easy repairs that did not require involving OR and to ensure that the diagnosis was correct in the event that an inexperienced or "shady" technician got it wrong. I determined the compressor had failed and would require either a replacement compressor or a replacement condensing unit. Climaenergy dispatched a technician to my residence and I informed him of what was wrong with the unit and gave him the freedom to make his own checks which he did. I could tell the technician was not as experienced but seemed honest. I was polite and professional and offered to help in any way. He confirmed my diagnosis as I expected. What I got was a fictitious claim by the technician to Old Republic that I was the cause of the compressor failure all so that OR would deny the claim. This is the kind of behavior that is unfortunately common with some companies that run service calls or rely on service calls from OR. I'm not saying they all do but as a professional in this industry I have seen it many times before. I would 1) not recommend this company to anyone and 2) not recommend anyone purchase insurance from home warranty groups such as Old Republic or any others. They are dishonest and will look for any reason to deny a claim so the warranty company doesn't have to pay for the repair and the service company can attempt to make more money off of the service call by offering their repair pricing or product replacement bid. read more

They were assigned to work in my ac unit by my home warranty company. They did show up on time and call before they arrived. This is why they get 2 stars. During the visit the tech wasn't able to clear the condensation line after trying several chemicals. He said a different company would have to come back. That was fine however, the issues started when he left. Within 20 min I noticed a horrid smell coming from the vents and when I went into the attic I found he had cut into the pvc pipe, added a piece but didn't cap it. Cold air was blowing into the attic. I also found the soaking wet rags all overt the place. These are rags he asked to borrow and just left them in the attic to rot. I called and asked them to please return to cap the pipe and look into the smell. The refused and when I asked for the manager, they hung up on me. They then refused to answer my calls. We have AHS home warranty and contacted them when our AC was not cooling right. They assigned us Climanergy. I called them to set up an appointment and got one for the very next day. The receptionist I spoke with was very nice. The repairman and his son (wish I could remember their names) were very nice and knew immediately what the problem was. They fixed it and the dad was very good at educating us on our AC system and what to look for if we had another problem. I would 100% recommend them. read more

I have extended warranty for my home and when I had an issue with my AC, the company contracted out to climanergy. The service guy came out and spent 10 minutes and said it was the connector. Replaced it and said that is it. Did not check the rest of the unit or upstairs unit. Said it was good and left. The AC was still not working properly and not cooling the house. We had another company come out to check the AC and said the fan is overheating and other things wrong. Hopefully the other service guys are better. read more

This company was assigned by my home warranty insurance company to fix my A/C. The compressor was broken. The repairman was nice, knowledgeable and indicated he would advice the home warranty company to replace it. However, the owner of the company sent in a different report claiming it failed due to lack of maintenance and shouldn't be covered under warranty. I had the warranty company send out a another A/C repair company to get a second opinion. The new repair company said it wasn't due to lack of maintenance, and the home warranty covered it. My A/C is fixed, but due to the shenanigans of Climanergy, I was stuck for 12 days in the August heat with no A/C and a 2 week old baby. Not a happy customer at all. read more
