I chose this ClickaAway location based on the number of positive reviews here, and while I unfortunately wasn't able to obtain speedy resolution for my particular laptop problem, Milano was nothing less than courteous and professional. I brought my Lenovo laptop in on August 7th, already knowing what was wrong: the fan. It had suddenly started making a loud whirring noise, like the blade was hitting the side of the laptop every time it spun. I explained the issue to Milano, who told me that ClickAway is actually a certified Lenovo service provider. Imagine my relief....which was short-lived because while ClickAway had spare parts stocked for ThinkPads, they didn't have any (at least, not the one I needed) for IdeaPads. Understandable, considering ThinkPads are more popular. I asked him how much it would cost for the labor and the spare part, and he quoted me $99 for labor and an estimated $89 for the ordered part. He ended up waiving the $49 diagnostic fee because the issue was obvious, and explained that it would take about 10 business days for the part to arrive, since their supplier was overseas. I sighed internally, as it was slightly more expensive than I thought (though, granted, I don't know much about standard computer repair costs), but since I already invested the time and energy, I agreed. After two weeks had passed, I called to see if my part came in. It had, though I didn't receive a call about it. (Note: this may be my phone's problem, since AT&T reception is terrible here.) Finally! Except after I dropped it off for repair, Milano called to say that somehow the fan that was shipped was the wrong voltage. It was a no-go. They'd have to re-order the part. Augh, just my luck. It wasn't their fault, so I summoned up some zen feelings and said it was all right. (Milano apologized and said he'd give me a $10 discount off the part, for all the inconvenience.) So I was willing to wait another two weeks, but it ended up being closer to a month. The correct part was finally installed two days ago, and the fan is as quiet as a doormouse now. I just wish it hadn't taken so long. read more

This place USED to be my place of choice to repair my computer equipment, however it looks like they changed their personnel and management and they are no longer who they used to be. My HP PC was giving me a message at boot up that the fan was not working properly and would shut down in 15 seconds, so I took it to Clickaway in Campbell. I was met by the assistant manager who told me that the fan had to be replaced and it would cost me $200. I thought the price was too high at their advertised $49 an hour and I asked him why so much and he told me that they would have to disassemble the entire PC to replace the fan, so I decided to go ahead with the repair. I was told that they would have to order the fan and it would take about a week for the repair. The repair was made within 4 days and I picked up the PC - but the price had gone up to Over $239. The assistant manager told me that he lumped the entire amount under "parts and labor". Four days later I had the same problem when I was in the East Bay, so I call the Clickaway in Hayward and told them I had a fan on an HP that went bad on me and after checking the price he told me that the cost for a new fan, plus labor would be about $85. That is when I told the people at the Hayward store that the Campbell store charged me $239 for my repair. Then I knew I was ripped off by the people at the Campbell store, but it got EVEN WORSE!! After dropping off my PC at the Hayward store, they checked it out and told me that it needed a new fan and that the fan HAD NEVER BEEN REPLACED; only cleaned. The Hayward store repaired my PC at a cost of a little more than a $100 and then I proceeded to go after the people at the Campbell store by contacting the manager to see if I could get my money back. The manager at the Campbell store was very cooperative, worked with me, apologized and refunded my entire amount. The manager at the Campbell store is the ONLY good thing about this store. The Campbell store lost my business for good; I would be a fool if I ever go back again. read more

Greg Grantt helped me today. I have had a problem with my computer for a year with my keyboard. I was prepared to drop off my computer for an entire software and hardware test and then probably pay for a new keyboard. Greg asked me a few questions, quickly determined what the problem was and fixed my problem (which was just an overly sensitive touch pad) in less than 2 minutes. He didn't charge me anything - just asked for a good yelp review. :) I went to them because of their good yelp reviews and am now writing one myself. I will now go there for any future issues I have. I have hired Click Away several times now, both for my personal laptop computer at home, and for our computer network at work. The first time I used Click Away, I had installed McAfee on my Laptop at home, and it screwed things up on my laptop up really badly. I took it to Click Away's Campbell location. It was fixed within 24 hours. When I picked it up, the bill was reasonable, my computer was clean, and they even carried it out to my car for me! The next time I needed help with my computer at work, I brought it to the Sunnyvale store. Turns out I know the assistant manager, Ken. He found several viruses in it, which he wiped out, and installed freeware on it so that I can protect my computer from further attacks. Since then, Ken and Tim have both come to my work location on several occasions, fixing our network problems every time. And again, the bill was reasonable. I would highly recommend Click Away to anyone that needs them. They are professional, knowledgeable, and there to help in a jiffy. read more

I decided to try Click Away after my laptop died. I called and spoke with Sam, who told me to bring it in and they would run a free diagnostic on it. Perfect, so I thought. Dropped it off first thing in the morning and was told I would receive a call later that day after the diagnostic was finished. About 5 o'clock, after not hearing anything back I called and was told that they had tried to call me (I never received a call). Sam said it was my harddrive that was fried and started going over costs with me. I didin't have the money to fix it so I went that night and picked my laptop up. My husband wanted to take it to a friend of his to get a second opinion, and I'm glad he did as it wasn't the harddrive it was a bad Windows update. He fixed it quickly and saved me hundreds of dollars. I won't take another computer here now as I can't trust their diagnostic skills. read more

Can you say "Magic"? My iPhone 6 fell into a bucket of water by an enthusiastic youth by accident while admiring it. I immediately took it out and was able to dry it with a nearby industrial dryer. It was revived, but for only 20 minutes and then...black screen! I called Laura at ClickAway Mobile and she said Thuan (not sure of the spelling), is a phone guru and has a stellar track record in bringing them back to life. I purchased a new laptop from the Clickaway store located in Campbell. I worked with Eddie, a manager, and we negotiated a price that was good for me. The new laptop came with a Synaptics touch pad which you can use to move the cursor and also scroll. The down side to that touch pad is that when you are typing a document and you barely touch the pad with a shirt sleeve or a moving finger the cursor goes crazy, going somewhere you do not want it to go. Eddie had one of his technicians do some research and he found a Synaptics driver that would disable the touch pad when you install a wireless mouse. With the mouse installed, typing a document was totally normal. What a great solution. I have been in the store many times to buy various accessories and have always been treated fairly and efficiently. I highly recommend it for anything computer related. Bill D. read more

Great team. I took my Toshiba tv to be fixed. Got a free inspection and quote. The cost of repair (because the part was expensive) was not worth fixing the tv. However, it's not their fault. The tv motherboard needed replacement. I asked them to recycle the tv and they did that at no extra charge which was nice. Will definitely use them again. read more

This is the 2nd time I have worked with ClickAway in Campbell on McGlincey Ln. The first was for a 1T SSD hard drive and they did everything they said in timely and competitive priced fashion. Just high end tech repair pros. The second time was recently was an emergency accident when someone spilled a glass of water on my Mac Book Pro keyboard thus terminating my CPU and trac-pad. My home AIO computer wasn't starting up properly and after a frustrating morning of debugging wasn't successful so I gave them a call on a Sat around noon. I brought the unit over and Chris was very helpful and told me what diagnostics would be run and what they would do. I was told they needed one business day. On Monday Chris called to let me know what was up and what they found which wasn't much but said they'd continue to investigate and also recommended a tuneup which I agreed to. greg saved me $800! i had gotten water in my macbook pro and of course apple was no help. greg said he would take a look at it for 50 bucks and it could be moved towards repair if i wanted. greg was able to tell me that my data was still ok and not only that they had a macbook for 550 bucks, he was able to transfer all the data and sell me a computer for 700 bucks! thats less than half of what a new macbookpro would have cost! the only thing that i didn't like was when i tried to redeem the yelp 25 dollar discount greg said he could only give me one discount, when i didn't get on in the first place, i was guessing that he was talking about moving the 49 bucks over to the transfer of data. other than that they explain everything great and more than happy to answer any questions, definitely a great place to get any repairs done! read more

Caveat Emptor Ask if the Salesman gets a commission. Then consider if they work on commission who's interest are they serving when offering products and service. Also the offer of a 'Routine Cleaning' should include a document delineating services done and results of service done. It seems like a gimmicky extra designed more to boost the bottom line than serve the customers needs. There may be an emphasis to sell a digital hard drive regardless of your needs. read more

I paid for their unlimited screen protection plan which was $200 for 2 years and they never honored it but rather gave me headache on driving to the store but they wouldn't help me at the store either, telling me that this person Mitchell will help me and Mitchell is one annoying person to deal with and never gets back to your calls or emails. He said that he will make me an apple store appointment to get my phone fixed and now it's the 4th week that he is been disappeared on me. My computer caught a very bad virus, even though I had anti virus software. Edward was my technician and did a good job of diagnosing. The problem was that the computer had to be cleaned out. Need a great computer to look under your motherboards? Give this place a try. I had them correct and upgrade my laptop OS as well as retrieve lost driver data last year, and i was thoroughly pleased on multie levels: cost, courtesy, complete from start to finish. They explain everything clearly and honestly, and are great with customers. I am on a budget, and I was worried about cost, and I was very pleased when it ended up $200 less than I expected. I was referred there by the tech guys at work as well as my stepdad, and regardless of the tech need, they can do it. They also sell reconditioned electronics, very affordable. Out of the blue, my computer just one day stopped working. I spent countless hours testing all the individual parts from the motherboard to PSU to graphics card but couldn't find out the issue. I took my PC here and was helped by a technician named Vincent. Vincent was literally the best technician I've ever had, and I've dealt with quite a lot. I explained to him the issue and all the tests I had to done prior to coming in and he listened to what I had to say. Throughout the whole process he regularly gave me updates about what his tests had shown and anything new he had discovered. It seems as though it was a very peculiar issue but he was able to get to the bottom of it in almost no time. (For those curious, the issue had to do with the motherboard headers and the CMOS) As well as his speed in fixing the problem, I was incredibly confident in him knowing what he was doing. When I brought the computer in, he let me know that he himself had also built his own computer from the ground up, which was a relief to hear as a custom build owner. Upon picking up the computer, I found out that for whatever reason my hard drive had effectively wiped itself and with that Windows itself. I planned on going to Frys and buying a USB with Windows 10 on it but Vincent and his manager were able to get me Windows and install it for me for the same exact price, saving me some time and effort. I can't thank them enough for that. If you ever have an issue that comes up with your computer, I 100% recommend this place and highly, highly, highly recommend Vincent as a technician. This is the second time that I worked with Greg Gantt and ClickAway and can't say enough good things. After Greg fixed my In-law's home network, I told him to expect another call once my wife and I finished the remodel on our house. I wanted him to make sure that my home network was secure, and set up a shared drive on my network. After setting up the network he noticed that there was some issues that prevented me from getting maximum speed out of my connection. Like he did with my In-laws, he could've done a quick fix and I wouldn't have noticed the difference. Instead, he took the time to get it right and my network is flying and he even got my XBOX360 to access the music and photos on my shared drive. As most have stated on other reviews, it isn't the cheapest (but not the most expensive either), but you know that they are going to do the job right which is most important.
