It is upstairs from Remedy cafe and elevenfifty restaurant/ lounge. Parking was easy to find. There is not a waiting area inside the shop. I was going to wait for the phone as it only took 45', but I ended up leaving and came back the next day. Check in was quick and simple. I was a little disappointed when I came across my go to store at Palo Alto closed, but soon found out through their website that I could request a technician to drive to me and pick up my computer! EVEN BETTER! It's always a little hard to find the time to drive out of the house with two little ones and take my items to be fixed, so this option is perfect ! The Hype is real. So historically I had used Yeamac for maintenance/fix's for my Macs as they had a location on El Camino in Palo Alto and did a good job. Last week I found myself with a 2012 Mac-mini with a failing SSD. The Mac does a lot of heavy lifting on my network so I needed to replace the drive asap. With covid, my options were going to limited unless I wanted to drive to Yeamac in Burlingame or do it myself. Or use Clevertech. With a lot of trepidation I called Clevertech (I think I called them 2 or 3 times before I put in my order). Not only were they more affordable than yeamac, but they were going to pick up the machine and bring it back. Almost sounded too good to be true. No kidding- I placed the order and they were at my house a couple hours later. They picked up my Mac, the SSD I had purchased on Amazon and and they completed the job and it was back at my house inside 24 hours. I never left my house. I've had it back for almost a week- they did an outstanding job. Everything inside the Mac is tight and runs like new. I replaced battery of two iphone 6s and ended up having one phone w/o a functioning display. Phone was working, touch was working but no display. I searched on yelp and sent message to couple of guys for estimates etc. I was really impressed with the detailed response from CleverTech, a through professional response. I managed to revive the phone but had to restore the phone and lost latest data as I didn't have a current backup. :-( As a courtesy I wrote to them letting them know that I fixed it and in the process mentioned how I did and lost data. Again received a response that had all the bells and whistles that a customer expects from a service provider. They went to an extent where they inquired if there is a way they can help me with my data-loss. The people working there were kind enough to offer me assistance even though they were closing in 30 min and had a big work load. I rarely write reviews, but this business deserves it. I had an iPad with a hard-to-fix because of the model power jack. The person I spoke with was confident in their ability to fix the issue even though other shops did not want to deal with this particular model, which requires desoldering the jack to replace it. When I got there they had an nice easy electronic sign-in method which kept me from having to tell the person at the counter my name, phone #, email, etc. Then, when I handed my iPad over, the gentleman looked at it, grabbed a magnifying glass and a tweezer and fixed the problem on the spot. My Macbook Air wouldn't stay on unless plugged in. It took them longer than promised to figure out the problem (the initial diagnostics showed the battery was fine, so they tested other parts such as the logic board. It turned out to be a bad battery anyway). They kept me updated via text and phone call. Everyone I spoke to was friendly and courteous. I dropped my iphone in a lake during my Camping trip and my phone was shutting off/on by itself, a purple line ran through the middle of the screen and my front facing camera was blurry from the condensation due to water exposure. I brought my phone in and Gonzalo assisted me right away. They had a clear plastic screen in between us over the counter which I can appreciate because of COVID times. This shows they care by taking extra precautions to keep their customers and employees safe. Gonzalo opened up my phone and right away noticed excess water still inside where the mother board and battery was at. He dried it up and also began to educate me of corrosion and what to expect to have my phone running back to normal along with possibilities of some features not working again. Again, I appreciate that because he was transparent throughout the entire process and he was not just trying to get my business. He really took his time by carefully examining my phone without further damaging it. After he serviced my phone, it is running back to normal now and I do not regret coming here at all. Still Gets My Highest Rating I recently returned to CleverTech to swap my 256GB SSD for a 512GB SSD and got the same prompt, expert service that I have always received. The amount Gonzalo charged for this service (which requires opening up the case and removing lots of internal components to get to the SSD, which plugs into a PCI slot under the HDD) was incredibly reasonable and by far the least expensive of any quotes I got from other repair shops. read more

In August, 2020, my Macbook started acting up and after a couple of days with techs at Apple, I decided to go with CleverTech. They promptly picked up the Mac from my house in Palo Alto, kept me updated on the repairs, and dropped off the fully functional MacBook at my house, per the tight schedule. In April, 2021, after 9 months I had another issue with the same Mac, not their fault but also not totally unrelated. They again picked up the Macbook and delivered it back in 48 hours, with no additional charges. I was expecting an invoice on this and was ready to pay for it. I completely broke my spacebar trying to clean it out, and unfortunately because of the way MacBooks are, that meant the entire keyboard needed replacing. Apple & Mobile Kangaroo quoted $5-600, so I tried the replacement myself and as expected it made things worse. I am so grateful to everyone at CleverTech for helping me out! I stopped by to get a cracked iPad screen fixed. Eduardo asked me if aside from the crack, if the digitizer (screen) still worked fine. Yes, it did. So he suggested to get a screen protector to minimize any other damage as a screen replacement is quite expensive, and come back if it became unusable. In other words, turning away my business. I took my Acer Swift 3 laptop to CleverTech when I got a USB power surge error. One of my ports stopped working and was constantly drawing power while the computer was asleep and draining my battery. They work mainly on Apple computers, but were willing to try diagnosing my issue on my PC. I got a call the next day saying it was a bad usb port and they replaced it for me for $140 out the door. This computer still has plenty of life in it, so I'm pleased that it was an easy and inexpensive repair. read more
