This is a great place to go for some down home american southern cooking. I went with three other folks and we had quite the spread of food, and the service was good. I ate the Sunday special baked chicken with stuffing, green beans, and fried squash. YOU MUST ORDER THE FRIED SQUASH. MAKE IT YOUR MISSION IN LIFE. Next time I'll just get two orders of the fried squash. The food overall was very good, and I liked their green beans, had a hint of vinegar or something. The other folks in my group ordered: boneless wings with onion rings and chips fried shrimp the Sunday special roast or something. Friendly fast service, down home atmosphere. I ordered the senior flounder fish and chips on a Friday night while there was a big crowd and the special was Lasagna. It was as good as the lunch day when I ordered it. The Fried Squash was not as warm as the lunch day, but still not bad. I love the flounder. It comes with Excellent Cole slaw, hush puppies, and Tartar sauce. I can tell the flounder is fresh with no fishy taste whatsoever ... I highly recommend the Fried Squash for sure. read more

This is the most depressing restaurant I have ever been in. They need an uplift in decorations. Also the prices are a little higher than Crackel Barrel which is up the street. I did not eat here. The dark lifeless place with no energy needing an update can cause bouts of depression in people. Also the menu did not have the breakfast items I was looking for but the sticky menus did not help either or no assortments of hot tea. Only lipton which is disgusting is all they had. With all the updated nice places to eat in Clemmons try them first. This eeked me out. read more

My breakfast was a special on Monday ($4.80), and included 2 eggs, patty sausage, toast or biscuit, and hashbrowns, and a drink. The patty sausage was the frozen kind, and I chose the chunky hashbrowns, which were great. Got a side of gravy, and it was actually homemade. A little bland, so I added some salt and pepper. We were there Sunday afternoon about 12:30 and half way through the meal I noticed lipstick around my water glass. In the middle it was clearly lipstick with color and lip lines. Around left and right were smudges of lipstick and faded out showing clearly the glass was not washed but only rinsed. The manager explained that they had many customers and they couldn't clean fast enough, apologized and walked away. The waitress didn't even catch it. We had a horrible experience here today. We have always loved this place. Came for breakfast, and after we sat and got our drinks we realized our table was not wiped off. My husband and I absolutely love to eat at Clemmons Kitchen. We eat breakfast there every Saturday and Sunday morning. The grilled tenderloin is excellent and I have always been very happy with the omelets I have gotten. Their pancakes are good, grits and hash browns as well (I like mine with onion). We also go for dinner and get spaghetti parmesan and salad...the BEST I've had anywhere. The waitresses are very friendly and quick to take care of you. The coffee cup and tea glass are topped off often. They get to know you and can pretty much order for you without asking. Any restaurant can have a problem now and then....but we eat there a lot and it is rare. If you had a bad experience I say give it another try!!! It's worth it. I live in this neigborhood and ducked in for a burger Sat. I'm 40 and I was the youngest person there by ten yrs. This is a good thing. They treat you like royalty here. Burger was good but not great. My Coke never got less than half full. The daily special was livers. Your choice: beef or chicken. I guess the liver attraction was the previous generation. Stopped in the other day for Sunday brunch. This is an excellent spot for your traditional diner fare breakfast. The biscuits were excellent, and the food came out quick, hot, and delicious. This was a last split decision "iHop down the the street or this local place?" The local place won out by chance, and I was not disappointed. This place is usually pretty good for lunch but lately I cannot phone in an order. The line is always busy and I figured out why, the new lady at the register answers the phone says "please hold on" and never comes back to take your order. I tried for 2 days to call in a order and wasn't able to do so. I finally drove there to place my order and the check out line was around the corner and down the aisle. My family and I enjoyed all the food we ordered. We ate here more than once during our visit and no complaints. The hostess would walk in front of female customers. and try to step on their feet. and females had to wait to be seated while the female white hostess would talk to male customers. The white young waitress was only nice to male customers table. talk back rude,stay to start fights.,not volunteer to do anything, throw bill at female customers. The food is ok. this place has bugs crawling everywhere in the bread. I went to drink my coffee and there was a bug in my coffee. I had to wait a unusual amount of time for a burger and they was not busy! The help was talking and having social time instead of helping paying customers. read more
