But the week after they cleared up the kitchen, I noticed the bathroom sink was getting worse so I called them back bc the guy had looked at it while he was here clearing y kitchen sink and said it wasn't going to be a problem that it just needed another type of pvc pipe under the sink. He came back and fixed it within an hour and gave me the total which blew me away at $2,247.00!! The kitchen issue was a much bigger deal to clear up. And while he was here for the bathroom sink, I asked him to look at a wet section on the front lawn that came about within the following week after he cleared my kitchen sink and it was a leak coming from the main underground and I asked him if he thought it could have had something to do with when he cleared my kitchen drain and he said NO and I asked how much would something like that cost having to dig and look for the leak and he said well it would start at no less than $5000.00 and I thought forget it because all of these issues were unexpected and I didn't have the money. But I am planning on selling this house and I know I will need to get this leak outside fixed before I can even list the house. So what do I do again, I called ARA LLC just for an estimate to change that main water line and they sent a guy out the next day and left me an estimate of $24K!!! And for a Spot Fix for $7,700.00 So I got another estimate for $15K to change the main water line and for a Spot Fix it would cost $4,604.00 This second guy was a little better but it was still too much for me. Then a neighbor happened to stop by and called a family friend and told him how much my estimates were and he couldn't believe it and just had to stop a job he was on and come over to see what was going on, shovel in hand, dug down no more than 3' and there it was, a pin-hole leak and he spot fixed it and it was a done deal at $1,200.00 and he saved me $13,800.00 if I had gone with the second quote of $15K Pretty crazy huh? And he didn't know me from Adam, because my neighbor called him on my behalf. I felt like I won the lotto. Any plumber with the title plumber from a plumbing company can and will always charge whatever they want because they know we the consumers don't know so they can charge anything they want and they do!! It's always better if you know someone or even call a handyman. A Gardner or even a landscaper also has knowledge of changing a main water line, its not that big of a deal like they make it seem.

But this year it became clear that it was time to call in the professionals to take care of a problem I had hoped to avoid - a complete replacement of the sewer line. I was referred to A1 Plumbing, and from start to finish, they couldn't have been better to deal with. Their estimate was more than fair (and less than I had been dreading). The team arrived on time (a rarity these days). They excavated four deep holes with a care for the existing landscaping. They did the pipe bursting and connections (fascinating!). And then they put everything back together so well that it's hard to tell at first glance that they were even there. All of this they did in two days with me watching over their shoulders, asking questions about the process and taking pictures. They turned what could have been nothing more than a depressing necessity into a fascinating demonstration of skill and knowledge. No one wants to have to replace a sewer line. But if you find yourself in that position, know that the people at A1 Plumbing are the ones to call, full stop.

Needless to say, he called in advance of starting and showed up on time with all of the tools and materials needed for getting underway and jumped right on the work. He completely re-plumbed our house in three days as promised. The workmanship was excellent and in fact now gives us complete control of the water system with new components for water and waste water.
