The technician was very thorough and professional. He diagnosed my problems quickly and I was provided a quote the same day. Two components were deemed defective, but still under factory warranty. I was told that the labor to replace these units would cost $950 which included the diagnostic fee. I was also told the labor rate was $150 hourly. The representative also informed me that regardless of the hourly rate, that would be the minimum cost to fix the unit. Only one of the two components was actually defective. The component took less than an hour to replace and was $42. I personally feel that this company was trying to take advantage of me and severely overcharge me. If you are looking for an ethical HVAC technician or company, I highly recommend you keep looking.

I mentioned to Chris that something went awry after we tried to secure the cover of the Nest thermostat (it was loose from the wall). The AC had worked before but after doing something with the cover, the AC stopped working. Chris quickly found the problem (a fuse had blown out). Chris was very professional, gave me some ideas on a Honeywell thermostat (we're not BIG fans of the new NEST thermostat), showed me how to read the error codes on our furnace (watch the number of red light flashes and compare it to the brochure left with the furnace). It was easy, peasy, even someone like me who has no HVAC experience could do this. I can't thank Chris enough for his great personality, true professionalism, answered my questions, taught me a few things (learning something new is always good) and even loved on my 2 labs (turns out we both love animals). Freon was leaking and since my unit was 24 yrs old and the Freon used for my model was no longer available. This is totally understandable and I knew this day was coming. I naturally got a quote for replacement for my AC unit as well as my furnace, because my furnace was needing to be replaced as well within the next year or two so I decided I was likely going to do both at once to save me a headache in a year or two. For the record, Ross H&A was not the company who did my maintenance. Ross Heating and Air was the last estimate I got and I could not have been more impressed with everything they presented. They made the decision easy. They were honest, fair, and local. About 10 days later everything was replaced and looked great.
