He was always willing to jump on the phone to answer any questions, which I appreciated a lot. My house was built prior to 1989 so I received a nice PSE rebate for the work. On the day of, Jo's crew were quick and efficient and provided Before and After photos. They removed my old vapor barrier and insulation and replaced with new one, added new dryer vent duct and flapper, and added new roof vents for all my bathroom fans, and much more. I was able to ask them questions during and provided water and snacks to them for their hard work. The crew respected my home and cleaned up after themselves before leaving. After the work was completed, I thanked Jo for making this all possible and being easy to work with. We went over some of the After pictures together over the phone to help me learn about everything and ask additional questions. They even sent a crewmember to come back for a 2-week follow-up on the work to make sure everything still looks good. I was hearing faint noises in the attic once in a while but thought it was the house "settling"…read more Then when I went up there to route some wiring, I found a disgusting mess of what was left behind by bats! Being too old to handle the huge task myself, I called around for estimates to remove the insulation, clean, seal any opening in which allow rodents access and then reinsulate. The only one that I found that did all that and more was Insulation Co. I called and talked to Jo Estrada and he gave me a quote and a detailed description of what that all includes: Insulation removal, complete cleaning, deodorizing and sanitizing. Sealing of all gaps not just for rodent control, but air gaps around vents, wire boxes and joints. The spot that allowed bat ingress and egress was sealed with a heavy duty screen/expanded metal and a foam fill product. Sorry bats! The hard working team was on time, completely covered the garage floor with a huge sheet of plastic and got to work. Rafael Diaz was the team leader and introduced himself and explained what he and his team were going to do. After all the aforementioned work, they removed all the old cardboard eave vent protectors and replaced them with new ones and stapled/tacked them in place. Good thing because some of the old ones were falling down. They also removed all the bathroom vent flex hoses and replaced them with hard sheet metal tubing. Then sealed the joints and wrapped the vent tubing with insulation! Then, they blew in 14-15 inches of new cellulose insulation including above the garage by my request. They even tacked insulation on the access cover to the attic which is in the garage and didn't have any originally! The work site, garage and driveway were all cleaned up and I couldn't be happier. While they may not be the cheapest, they were fast (in and out in 4 hours), very good and did more that the other companies promised. I apologize for the long review, I'm just so relieved that my attic is in better shape now than when I had the house built! I'm sure it will help with the ever increasing electric bill!

The living room which was cold in the morning now barely loses heat overnight. I heat with a wood stove, and though it is December I have to be careful not to get the house too warm. A delightful difference! However, that is the insulation. What I want to commend is their professional service. Owner Matt Stefnik did a thorough inspection and surprised me with what he thought were the most important upgrades. The results prove he was correct. His price seemed reasonable. His crew came on schedule and completed work on schedule. They also found a clogged dryer vent I was unaware of. Checking that was not part of the contract, but they thought it would be a good idea. Likely they saved me from a serious problem, possibly a fire. The crew were friendly, polite, and clearly motivated to do good work. They attended to details I would never have thought of. I cannot say enough good things about Matthews Energy. Don't we all want to find contractors who do good work, on time, at a reasonable price, and with attention to quality and detail? Having my exterior walls insulated with NW Insulation really could have not gone better. First, I…read morehad the estimator come out just a couple days after I called, he spent an hour or so going over my house & checking the insulation and then figured out the estimate. I was shocked, with the PSE rebate, which NW Insulation takes care of, the estimate was thousands less than I thought it would be! I signed up, and a day or so later I got a call to schedule the install, again, surprisingly, they could do it right away and I scheduled for about a week out. The installers got to my house about 8am and were very polite and professional. They basically worked all day, got the job done, and were on their way. They left everything clean and it is amazing to me how the house looked when they were done. They blew in the insulation from the exterior and the method that they used left no trace, they removed a course of siding, drilled holes, filled the walls, plugged the holes, and replaced the siding. You can't even tell that they were there. I have only had a few hot days to determine if there has been an improvement and honestly it really does seem to stay cooler inside, looking forward to winter for the real test. All in all, this has been a great experience, I very highly recommend NW Insulation for your project.

Representative was confident and work was done to the tune of $6000+. Periodically checked immediate area and had exterminators down there bi-monthly with reports of minor moisture but overall OK. Orkin sent out a guy to perform an inspection and he reported the exact situation I paid to resolve. It was beyond 1 year but it is obvious they did not perform work I was promised. I asked them to honor the warranty 22 months after work, which I do know is beyond, but it is clear that they did not do work promised and I believe they should back up their work.
