Bummed to have to give a bad review. Cleanly is so convenient and the delivery people are always friendly and on time. Since I've started using Cleanly, though, my collection of running socks is nearly extinct. They just never come back. I received an order back today that included one sock that definitely doesn't belong to me. As I'm now down to two pairs of athletic socks in a collection that was much larger, I have to be finished with Cleanly. I'm too scared of getting an order back in which clothing more irreplaceable than socks are missing. read more

The most disorganized service provider I've had the misfortune to deal with in a long time. I have had three different delivery times scheduled and I got another message saying there was yet another mix up. I've stayed home late, come home early only to have them tell me at the last minute they had to reschedule. Have had three major issues with this company: 1. Ordering a specific drop-off window and being told my delivery driver was "delayed" for over an hour. 2. Receiving items that were still damp 3. Ordering a rush order (extra $15) only to be told that my clothing wouldn't be ready on time, and would have to be dropped off on a Saturday evening... Only use this company if you're flexible and don't mind spending extra money only to be inconvenienced. read more

Cleanly is the worst laundry service I've used in NYC. Invoices are sketchy, delivery is negligent, customer service is HORRIBLE. I have tried their services twice, and both times have had issues: First time they moved my delivery a day back and never sent me an invoice until I called customer service complaining that I was charged $60 for a day-late laundry service. Second time they didn't even deliver my laundry. I recieved a text saying that my bag was delivered and it was simply no where to be found. I later found it in the corner of my lobby - who ever delivered must have thrown my bag of laundry inside the lobby of my 30 floor building and left. Pretty absurd that I paid for door-to-door laundry service and they never delivered. Both times I called customer service to complain, both times I was brushed off without one apology for bad service. Please pay attention and read the 1 star reviews for this company because they are all TRUE! Don't get stuck dealing with this sketchy fraudulent company. read more

Going from a unit with a stacking washer dryer to a building without laundry even in building was a frustrating transition. My husband and I are very glad we found cleanly. Reasonably priced for laundry pick up and drop off with 24 your turn around and the annual reserve account has paid for itself with discounts etc. any items lost (which can happen with any kind of laundry service) the team has been great to credit us for. read more

We been using cleanly for about a year. It is more expensive than usual wash and fold places, but we figured the late delivery option/ease of the app/ease of payment was worth it (the only reason for two stars). A couple of months ago he started complaining about holes through the hems of his cotton shirts (all quality V necks, polos, undershirts) but I didn't think much about it. A few weeks ago my boyfriend asked if a white pair of athletic socks in one of the bags were mine. I said no and he tossed them. Right before Thanksgiving I found a pink Loft blouse and a pair of patterned J. Crew pajamas that did not belong to me. I know that some wash & fold places pin your clothing together and throw different people's loads into the same commercial sized washer/dryer, unpin, fold and deliver out. Given the random items we have received and holes I guess this is what has been happening. I am also starting to doubt that I (for the first time ever) neglected to re-pack two dresses and a bra and am pretty sure that some other woman got them delivered with her laundry... Also, for the price point socks could at least be matched up. P.S.- I told them to send a valet to get whoever's stuff I have and they told me they would with my next pickup. I told them I am not interested in another pickup so now I am being forced to hold someone's stuff hostage. read more

At this point, it's my own fault for using them again when they've ruined so many of my items - I take responsibility for that, however I feel it's only right to let others out there know that they really aren't making any efforts to get better and change isn't happening. They're clearly more interested in building up profit than taking care of your clothes carefully. Seven months after the last incident, they've redesigned their app, but they're still paying no attention to taking care of clothing. That said, they tumble dried (again) my hang dry items. I put them in a separate bag as instructed, clicked the little "hand dry" button on the app and everything comes back clearly tumble dried, pilly, elastic sticking out - what happens to delicates when you put them in the dryer on hot. I would use extreme caution in using this service and not send sensitive items. They've probably ruined another $300+ of clothing because I chose to give them another chance. read more

UPDATE: They got back to me with a refund and a small discount to try the service again. Increased from 1 star to a generous 3. -- Cleanly blows. My first time using the service. Signed up for their 'laundered shirts' option. Sent away 10-12 button downs and a few nice tees. Instead of the fresh, wrinkle-free, hung-up shirts I receive from similar services, I got a bag of wrinkly, balled-up button downs and - most importantly - my expensive tee-shirts shrunken down to the size of an American Girl Doll.. (I'm 6'3, 215lbs). Did you run out of hangers? I immediately followed up with the support team (support@cleanly.com) and have received NO response. Not even a confirmation of my complaint. Absolutely love this service! Pickup and drop off were on time; valets were wonderful; laundry bags look great; clothes are clean and they smell great! You can even choose how you want your clothes to be washed on the app. All this for a really reasonable price! read more

Worst service ever: last year they damaged my expensive sweatshirt, this year they lost most of my laundry! I received a bag with someone else's laundry and a few of my items mixed in. My comforter, bed cover, towels, underwear, socks, shirts, and pants are all gone. I am extremely disappointed. Waiting for them to find my stuff... or at least reimburse me for over $1000+ of lost items. Don't know how anyone can loose a queen sized comforter... read more

Cleanly is the best ! I have used other laundry delivery services and they have made me break out in rashes because of the detergent they use. Cleanly only uses Tide. The service can get a little pricey but it's definitely worth it and they are always on time. read more

As a Cleanly Reserve user, I initially really enjoyed using the service until Cleanly lost a $190 hang dry item on its first wash - and then offered $25 as a reimbursement (an item that I paid extra for its special care). This is the second time in the past few months that Cleanly lost an item of mine. I understand that mistakes do occur, but given the frequency of lost items, loyalty to Cleanly with the Reserve Membership, and how often I use it, I'd expect a better policy here. I will not be renewing my membership and Cleanly cannot be trusted with nice items of clothing. read more

They've changed changed who was doing my laundry and the past moth it has looked terrible. I went from having perfectly folded laundry that was consistent in size, so it was easy to put up in my drawers, to laundry that is sloppy and not always folded but throw it in a bag. I've taken pictures and sent it to them and all they offer was a $10 credit, I figured maybe this is a one off, but my patience actually gave it a two off, but finally had my last straw when they returned my laundry with both human and what I will assume is cat hair of various colors. read more

I've been very happy with Cleanly over the months I've been using them. They are quite punctual, and when they are delayed, I appreciate the prompt notifications by SMS. The pick-up and delivery folks are always pleasant and cheerful, and they do a great job with wash-and-fold. I've been using Cleanly regularly for the last six months. I've never had a problem - the app is easy to use; the valets are always on time; and clothes are laundered/dry-cleaned as per the instructions. I'm a fan of the "hang dry" feature and appreciate that they separate lights and colors and give you the option of cold/hot wash. I've had to reach out to their customer service on a few occasions, and they've been extremely polite, prompt and helpful. I pay the annual subscription which gets me free hang dry, free delivery and a discount on every bill. I think it's a great deal! The only downside to Cleanly is that you don't get the option of same-day delivery that you'd get with your neighborhood laundry service. read more

Not sure I'll ever do my own laundry again. Both the pickup and drop-off individuals were very kind and well within the hour window. I had originally rushed home thinking that they would arrive without notice, but the app actually sends you a notification when they're en route. Everything was super clean and expertly folded. I'm really impressed! I recently broke a bone in my foot and am not able to walk to the laundromat that I normally use. The drivers on pickup and delivery both walked up to my sixth floor apartment to move my laundry, really kind of them. My clothes were on time, smelled fresh, and folded sharply. I've use this service several times. At the outside it looks very convenient. They come and pick it up they come and drop it off. They have very large delivery windows. That being said it is notable that almost every time there's a re-delivery of clean laundry they are late. To the point where services ordered four or five days previously have my redelivery put at the bottom of priority in the delivery schedule. That means my laundry arrives late. I'm not simply late by five or 10 or 15 minutes. I am talking being told to wait more than an hour outside of a delivery window to get my laundry back. It's unacceptable. I don't have entire days to sit and wait for laundry if I did I'd be at a laundromat.... It's really a shame. It's really a shame that they don't prioritize on a first come first serve basis how they set up delivery schedules. Because to be quite honest they do a terrific job on the laundry. But I just can't put up with the scheduling nightmare. read more

They misplaced my laundry and sent me the wrong bag (everyone's nightmare). After responding promptly last night and sending me a picture of my laundry sitting in their warehouse, they have been radio silent this morning after I had requested a time of delivery. You'd think a situation like this would be top priority for their customer service team. In addition, the customer support line goes straight to voicemail so there really is no way to quickly resolve the situation and for them to provide comfort to the customer. You're stuck waiting for an e-mail response. I still have no idea where my laundry is at the moment and whether any items are missing. Of course, it's a good app and UI, but a lot of work needs to be done in back-end logistics, quality control and customer service. My local dry cleaner never misplaced my laundry in over 4 years. read more

This is the worst service. They've lost items and ruined everything I sent in. Customer service is terrible with seriously stupid practices. They ask you to make specifications for the care of laundry and ignore it. And whoever is doing the washing seems to be lacking any hint of common sense. This service has made our lives so much easier. Instead of spending a few hours lugging our laundry around the neighborhood. We've been using them for a few months and have had great luck. The valets are friendly and prompt and you are able to track their location when they are in the time window. We have only had one delivery that wasn't ready at our scheduled time, but Cleanly emailed me ahead of time and rescheduled for the next day. I always appreciate communication. read more

Whenever I use cleanly, I write instructions for the valet not to leave my laundry with the doorman. When I receive the text that says my valet is on his or her way, if I don't text cleanly back reiterating my instructions, the valet leaves it with my doorman. Cleanly has used the excuse that my doorman refuses to let up the valet - this is entirely not true because it's against my building's policy to turn away a guest without calling me first. I now found out what the real reason is, and I'm furious with cleanly for lying to me and providing less than subpar service. My valet tonight called me and asked if he could leave my laundry with the doorman because there was no parking - I said no (what is the point, I might as well do my own laundry in the building then), so he eventually came up and rang my doorbell, knocked furiously at my door, left my laundry at my door and ran away. He was already by the elevator when I opened the door. Not to mention, I had scheduled my drop off for 7-8pm and the valet did not get here until well after 8:40PM. I've been using this service for over 2 years and time and time again have been disappointed. I've given multiple chances for redemption and have received terrible customer service and follow up in return. The prices have only gone up, and to be quite honest, this service is not worth it. read more

UPDATE TO PREVIOUS REVIEW: I felt I owed a caution to those who absolutely need their clothes back by a certain time. I booked a vacation and sent my laundry out with Cleanly in the AM for a PM delivery as I was leaving town the following evening after work and wanted to pack some clothes that needed washing. I got a text from a rep at Cleanly a few hours before I was supposed to receive my laundry back letting me know they would not be able to deliver on time and would have to reschedule for the following evening. I responded that that would not work for me as I was leaving town and needed the clothes by the following morning, latest - period. I could not reach anyone by phone call to talk through the issue in detail. I texted them I would rather have my clothes delivered back uncleaned/as-is because I needed them before I left but they for some reason could not give me back my clothes, even unwashed, which was concerning to me. The reason for 3 stars is because I received the clothes on schedule when I returned from vacation and they were cleaned to satisfaction, per my usual experience. Bottom line - if you absolutely need your clothes by a certain time, wash them yourselves or take them to your local laundromat to be safe. read more
