I am a regular customer at 5 boro laundry, since 2020 because of Covid, but when I moved into a new building in 2022 building with my own washers and dryers, I used them much less. On January 30, 2026, I lost my phone, debit card, and laundry card so I had to used them more particularly during this time. Life stressors, with the loss of my full-time job and taking my board exam, and studying, I was struggling with managing everything and renovating my burnt down apartment which all were highly stressful situations and a breakup as well. I was and I am highly impacted mentally and financially related to this company. With all proven factors above, I reached out to 5 boro laundry and the company customer via their website labeled contact us. I received not one response at all. service person. The laundry in question was to clean sheets, comforter, clothing via their app which is usually the way to make my order. MY clothing was returned damaged. I reached out many times on their website listed on Google which d States to contact them via email phone and voicemail and I tried all avenues with no response, related to my laundry issue. I didn't hear back from management, but when we finally spoke, he hung up on my claiming he was called into a meeting, but he called me back on Saturday, a say I work and I didn't respond. When I answered his call eventually, he claimed he called me and I didn't answer and that he cannot access email or voicemail, so he didn't receive anything. He then stated, Ouida you wrote a scathing review on Google and yelp. Then he went on to say, you had 38 orders with us since 2020, and we always provided the greatest service. He also stated that you had money in your pockets that we returned to you and that i wrote a thankful review. So, he seemingly was justifying my damaged clothes with him returning money from my pockets that I was not aware of. He then stated you gave us 38 lbs. (referring to damaged bag) I said to him I gave you the damaged clothes (12 lbs. of said laundry). I responded saying, I sorted most of the laundry in my drawers, so I gave the most damaged items. He then says you paid 57 dollars for 38 lbs. not 12 lbs. So, he says, why complain about damaged laundry if you don't send all the laundry. So, I said are you insinuating that I burnt my college logos where the pockets can't open, my sheets and pillowcases shrunk, where I cannot put my pillows in, my clothing destroyed based on giving you 12 lbs. verses 38 lbs. He claimed I didn't call him back even though as we were talking, he hung up on me claiming he is understaffed. And 2 days ago, I get a charge of 28 dollars for them washing the damaged cleaned clothes that was for damage assessment. So, they charged me for cleaning the clothes that are being assessed for damage. When I spoke to Kevin, the customer service person on Friday 4 3 26, he stated he was not aware of this charge and because i had a pending order they charged .e for the pounds assessed. In addition, when I made any order on the i cloud app, since using the app, I would always give a 5-dollar tip, the driver tells me he never received not a single tip that I provided when I requested any new order on the app, more deception, fraud and theft. I also give my clothes with every order using my 5 boro laundry bag which I bought in 2021 during covid, so not only did all of the above happen. My alleged cleaned damaged clothing was rewashed damaged and were returned in someone else's black laundry bag with holes at the bottom. I have proof of the damages the charges and re charges for re washing the accessed damaged clothes that were rewashed and probably re-damaged. I also did not receive those clothes that was given for assessment since 3 7 2026. The clothes in question are still not returned to me and in the company's possession. I spoke to them again on 4.8 2226 and they spoke of no compensation. And the way of the world and trying to survive. It is what it is. I don't even know what to say anymore. I'll take those clothes and figure it out. They said We will deliver your clothes by Friday. read more

Is it called 5 Boro because they have donkeys or mules making the deliveries? One of the reasons to send laundry to the cleaners is convenience and saving time. If the company is going to just randomly leave a large bag of laundry downstairs in the lobby what do I need them for? Are they going to give me a discount for carrying my own clothes upstairs to my apartment? I might as well use the laundry facility in my building. My building has an elevator. Would it have been that difficult for them to bring the laundry to my apartment? I am older and disabled. Do they provide the same poor service to expecting mothers, or mothers with new born babies to care for? Maybe the mom can hold the infant in one arm, and carry the laundry with the other arm, just so the delivery "burrow" can save a minute and rush to his next stop! Meanwhile my laundry is sitting downstairs out in an open public area, for anyone to pick up and walk off with. This is New York City and it does happen! If anything is missing, who is going to be responsible for replacing the cost of the items? Needless to say I would NOT recommend 5 "Burrow" Laundry. read more

I typically do my own laundry across the street from my place, but girlfriend has been using 5 Boro for some time and recommended them. Very first laundry pick up 2 of my shirts come back covered in what I imagine is bleach? (pics below). Clearly happened when someone was folding everything up on the table, if it was bleach in the wash with all my clothes the whole bag would have been ruined, so that is good! I was bummed but was happy to let them know and what they wanted to do about it. They at first gave me a $50 credit towards future pick ups, but I really wanted them to just refund me for original order and/or reimburse me for new shirts! Seemed like least they could do. Ive called them maybe 6-7 times total and so far they still haven't done anything about it. Always get some nonsense about "they're looking into the situation" and they'll call me back. They never do. It was like 6 weeks ago guys cmon. Girlfriend has stopped using them altogether now too. I'd recommend using Rinse. After missing their promised delivery window multiple times over multiple days, with lies about adjusted delivery times and locations, bedding was delivered reeking of cigarette smoke, which requires deep cleaning to remove. Met with customer service that refused any responsibility for lateness or for the smell. Highly do not recommend. read more

They consistently miss delivery timelines and have no courtesy to call their customers and inform them. Overall a bad experience when you're waiting for hours past your scheduled time and have no phone number to call because the "office" is closed and you can't get ahold of anyone. After giving them multiple chances, they won't even offer you any kind of credit for their poor customer service. The laundry always came back just fine and I won't fault them on that at all; just the customer service side needing improvement. They are the most affordable service I've found, but sometimes it pays to pay a little more for a more reliable company. read more

We had laundry done and when it was time to deliver it we kept running into issues with our schedule and having to reschedule over and over and they were absolutely so accommodating. In a world with terrible customer service, this company went above and beyond and put up with us being super annoying. I appreciated them so much and offered to pay a reminder delivery fee, they did not charge me. They are a tremendous company and the laundry was clean and folded and we couldn't be happier. read more

I found out about 5 Boro Laundry yesterday (2/9) and immediately scheduled my pick up and drop off service! I've been sick with the flu since Monday and needed my laundry done ASAP--I received my laundry today (didn't mind the next day drop-off this was a last minute decision on their part since business was so busy for them) and I'm beyond pleased! First off, the customer service is exceptional, I appreciate the friendliness, warmth and professionalism from start to finish! I truly thank you for your services and will be using you all in the near future as well as will spread the word!! Also, the option to have sensitive skin, dye and odor free detergent used to wash my clothes came in very helpful! They were folded neatly, bagged in a clear bag prior then put into my regular laundry bag, and the particles of my clothing looks well taken of care will it was out to wash! At the beginning of COVID last year, my local laundromat closed. The nearest laundromat would've been 5 miles, which it's difficult to get to since I don't have a car. When searching online for a laundromat pick up services, 5 boro laundry had the most reviews, high star rating on Yelp, and their pricing were very reasonable. Since then I've been a customer for almost over a year already. Love how they wash my clothes and fold them up!! They are always on time to pick up and to drop off. They also communicate with you if there will be a change on the time for the pick up or drop off. Amazing services all around! They have a loyal long customer! read more

UPDATE: After posting this review, I received 6 dropped calls from 5 Boro in under 30 minutes. Chris left 1, 19-second voicemail after the 2nd call, telling me they have reached out previous weeks and have had 'no response' from me, even though I have no missed or outstanding communication from them. I have now received an email from Tracy calling me "completely irrational". Rather than simply update me proactively or reply to my outreach, they wait until I share my experience and then use my personal contact details to repeatedly call and ultimately insult me. TL;DR was a repeat customer but after missing pickup and delivery windows they returned damaged an item and, after asking for photos of the item, they're no longer replying to me. Too many other laundry services to deal with this untrustworthy one. I previously wrote a 5* review, after my first experience with 5 Boro, and now, having used them several more times, I feel I need to share my other experiences to warn other potential customers. Though initially impressed with 5 Boro, they have now damaged an item of clothing (which I see has been an issue for another reviewer) and are no longer communicating with me. After not picking up my last order on time and not phoning to say they would be late AND not returning my order on time - I had to call twice that evening to see if they would still deliver. They missed both extended windows times they gave me and when I asked if they could deliver the following day instead they said they had no delivery time slots available, even though all slots were available to book online (I'm sure to rope more customers in) - I received my order with a damaged item. It looks like something was spilled all over a pair of cotton pants and it stained. I immediately reached out and after a week 5 Boro replied to to ask me to send photos of the stains and the care tag. I did so and after another week I got an email from "Tracy" to say they were reviewing and would get back to me "shortly". That was over a week ago and I've followed up since and have no reply. My experience is once they have you as a repeat customer, they simply don't care. Missing delivery windows (which already are 2-hours long) is one thing but damaging items and then not responding to your customer is beyond poor business. read more

I don't use laundry services often but I have to give this place credit. I sent two bags of clothes last time and it was returned to me clean, folded and neat. I don't care for the scent of the detergent used but everything else is ok. I have no complaints. read more

The ordering interface is so easy to use, something hard pressed to find for some reason, plus the customer service is extremely helpful and friendly. Pros: Pickup was on-time, laundry was returned clean and folded. Cons: Hides their minimum $$$ on their site until you are charged during drop off (NOT as cheap as it looks when there's a $35 minimum!), was delivered almost an HOUR late after I had already called and asked if they were on time day of ("yes, they're at the stop right before you, 15 minutes away"). This was my first time using 5 Boro Laundry and I can tell you that the experience was super! First, I contacted 5 Boro and spoke to Chris about his laundry service. He said that his service was completely professional! My laundry would be picked up according to my schedule. The,rates were reasonable. The clothes would be returned the following day. He indicated that 5 Boro has been in business for 25 years. Found this to be true as I called back several times and the line was always busy! Due to construction in our home, I do not have access to the laundry room. After reading a few reviews, I decided to try 5 Boro Laundry. The whole experience was easy, quick, friendly, professional, and worth every penny! Five large bags of laundry was picked up one morning, and delivered the next morning, cleaned, folded, and even with a few extra dryer sheets in between to keep it fresh! 5 Boro Laundry is amazing. I tried fly laundry, they lost my clothes for a week, and I will never go near them again. I was searching laundry service and came across 5Boro. Thank God! I have used them 5 times since. Every time my clothes come back they smell so amazing and fresh, on top of that the pants are never shrunken and the sweaters are never pilly. I look forward to getting my sheets and blankets back for how soft and fresh they are. In the past two times I have used their services, they have very professional, courteous, and diligent. My clothes have been returned to me very clean and in order. They are on time with their pick ups and deliveries. Their app is very easy to do and their communications in updates are as close to real time as you can get which is very appreciated! Very poor service. A very delicate scarf was damaged despite asking for "hang dry" service. They refused to provide any indemnification for the damaged piece. They consistently delivered and picked up laundry outside their service hours, and when that happened, they arbitrarily reassigned me once to a time slot I was only informed of when I called to check on the status of my order.
