I've been using Cleanly for 8 months now and I love it! Super reliable and very friendly service. They fold everything neatly and separate each section of clothing so it's easy to put away. Haven't had any tears, rips, or detergent stains and my clothes always come out fresh and lovely. I also love the ability to set my wash and fold preferences for good - so creating a new order is just a few taps. I find that their delivery is on time within the hour window about 90% of the time, and they text if they're ever stuck in traffic :) read more

We've been using cleanly for about a year and a half now and overall, it's been a good experience. A few minor issues now and then, but the convenience makes it worth it for us. I suspect some areas of the city are more problematic than others since I believe they use many different laundry facilities and the quality and reliability may vary based on that. I have been using this service for almost 1 year now. I was previously using a service in BK that got so bad that they weren't showing up for scheduled appointments and then telling me there was no way I could make that pick up when they are down drivers?! Any, not the case with Cleanly. They are on time with both pick-ups and deliveries. I love they way they package the closing separating socks and underwear. I have yet to have anything returned damaged or any missing items. The customer service delivery operators are courteous. More than I was paying for my last service but you get what you pay for- great service! read more

DO NOT use this service!!! They lost 29 lbs of my laundry. And they still have no idea where it went. They also were deceitful when they initially lost my belongings- they told me twice that the delivery was just delayed. They then told me that they were sure that another customer accidentally got my things and they would return them to me shortly. This was also not true. They partially reimbursed me for my belongings and acted like they were doing me a favor by going "to the greatest extent of their policy" but I am still out several hundreds of dollars replacing the items that they lost. You should know that they do not actually do the laundry- they're only a middle man. You do not need this service. They make it seem like they actually do something. They do not. Just use your local laundry wash and fold- it's not worth it to lose your belongings when there's an extra transition with this unnecessary, irresponsible middle man. read more

Update: My clothes were found and returned a few days later. However, my brand new Anthropologie Pillow Shams were still missing. They never found them. Now the shams are sold out. They also didn't fully reimburse me for them because according to their policy, Cleanly will reimburse 10x the cost of laundering the item! They believe they went "above and beyond" because they actually reimbursed me for the price I paid for one sham, and the rest of the money was reimbursable in the form of Cleanly credit. Why would I ever use Cleanly again after all of this? That credit is a waste--why not just do the right thing and credit my credit card instead? read more

Okay. Cleanly lost a significant amount of my clothing. I didn't notice it until I was trying to find something to wear and my closet and drawers seemed so bare bones. I am so upset because some of my favorite things will never be returned to me. I thought it wasn't much when I got it back but I just thought - "oh - its because its all folded. It was all great and so simple, besides the fact that now a lot of my clothes are missing. Just really upset. It was my first time using a laundry pickup & delivery because I was always scared of this happening to me. I'm not talking about a few t-shirts either. I'm talking A LOT of my clothes. So far so good. I've used these guys for my regular laundry as well as some white (impossible to whiten) linens and they've killed it both times. The couriers are friendly and attentive even in the early morning hours. They always show up on time and the clothes always smell fresh. My only gripe is that I wish they offered a green option. I'm not a huge fan of chemical detergents and would love to see them offer something less environmentally impactful. Otherwise a great service, I'm really picky about who washes and folds my laundry. I've moved several times in NYC and still use only one laundromat because all the other ones leave my clothes smelling kinda watery and musty. Not a trustworthy service. Service is not bad "IF" they do not lose your stuff!!! couple of issues: 1- I used them 3 times and they always brought the items back to my apartment but last time they claimed that they left them with the doorman and of course there is no sign of my items. Problem is customer service. I gave my stuff to the valet and I receive them from valet. I was there in my apartment the whole time waiting for delivery that never happened and they are yet to take responsibility and reimburse me for my stuff. 2- They claim that they wash each customer's items in a separate machine. I doubt it. I specifically asked my valet to make sure that my stuff are washed separately from other people's and she said "I have to check with the facility to see if they can do that". My experience with Cleanly has been pretty great. Friendly people pick up and drop off. My favorite thing is that my socks are paired and underwear comes rolled. The prices might be a little high, but when you factor in the time of the laundromat...I think it evens out. read more

I have always taken pride in washing my own clothes. As my responsibilities in life increase and my time has shorten I was left with no choice to have my laundry do by someone, "professionally". One of the many companies that came up in my search was cleanly. I decided to take a chance with Cleanly. The service was mediocre but it did the job. As time went on, I began missing socks, underwear, shirts, etc.; to even getting other peoples clothing. As time went on, I went from losing or gaining clothing articles to losing an entire bag of cloths. The valet-delivery people are just as unprofessional and rude as the people are at the call center, when I made my claim. No one should subject to missing clothes and their unprofessional tone and language. To say the least, I will not be a customer after they lost an entire bag. I can't see this company lasting long. I loved using Cleanly for the first 4 months, then they lost three of my shirts (value at about $200 - one was brand new!) and offered a paltry cash reimbursement ($45) and credit toward future orders. Losing socks and underwear - fine. That's not at a great cost to me to replace and not unexpected from a laundry service. However, to say that the only value assigned to my clothing is based on weight is unfair and losing multiple shirts is not insignificant to my wardrobe or to my wallet. Also, providing credit is not appealing as I am now wary of trusting them with my clothing. As well, it took significant follow up on my end to get any traction on finding the items and on the reimbursement, which was frustrating. Just this morning I had signed up for their VIP service, but have now decided to cancel. read more

I tried a few different places before going to cleanly and it is the best by far. They are always on time and the app is easy to use. It is a little pricey compared to other places but the service is worth it for sure. Clothes always smell great and are clean (which was an issue with other places). Best option I've found for laundry in NYC thus far.. Good but not perfect. The 3rd month using them they lost a pretty large amount of my clothes (never found despite my immediate and thorough descriptions).. I ended up getting a Cleanly credit but the amount I got was no where near the amount I paid for the clothes (their policy is pretty weak on the max amount they will reimburse for lost items so just keep that in mind). Wish they didn't have the minimum order for delivery... But Definitely do the one month free of Cleanly Reserve.. It's the best option if you have frequent and small loads like me. read more

Cleanly lost our laundry:( My fiancé and I had a huge $48 dollar bag of laundry(no towels-all work and gym clothes) that was supposed to be delivered last night from the 9-10pm window. The bag accounted for 50-60% of our total wardrobes. We got the text message that the laundry has been delivered even though we did not receive it. We immediately reached out through both email and phone when we realized we did not receive our laundry. We were consistently told that the employee was saying he had delivered it although he hadnt(at least to us). Cleanly-please help us find our laundry! Such poor execution is very frustrating. We have been paying 1.50 a pound -2x the cost of the usual service because we believed cleanly was more trust worthy then the usual laundry service . read more

I'm a working mom in the legal field and it is tough accomplishing all that needs to get done. Cleanly has been reliable and I find their customer service very responsive. The only reason I am not giving it five stars is that it doesn't do same day dry cleaning, but otherwise I use it consistently. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Stayed home from work in order for my laundry to be delivered, yet they rescheduled at the end of the time range for the next day. The entire reason I went with Cleanly was for the convenience, but I would rather carry my clothes blocks away to the closest laundromat than ever deal with this again. I've used all the major services out there and have had MAJOR problems with others - clothes ruined, things washed instead of dry cleaned, huge holes, lost items for days, etc. BUT - so far so good with Cleanly. A lost sock has been my only complaint. That and their dry cleaning comes back smelling pretty strong, so I just don't use it anymore. But never before have I used a service with such a perfect interface--from the pickup and delivery people to the top-notch customer-service email team to the sleek, friendly app. It's more seamless than Seamless. It's not just that your laundry gets whisked away, washed, dried, pressed, dry-cleaned, delivered. It's squeaky-clean without being perfumey, perfectly folded (I challenge the Gap/Army to do better), and thoughtfully sorted. The single worst experience that I have ever had as a customer. Cleanly put two of my suits and a brand new sweater through the washing machine and dryer, blamed me, and then grossly under-compensated me for my ruined clothing. Here's the story: I used Cleanly for wash and fold and another service for dry cleaning. I left two separate bags at the front desk of my building, one wash and fold and one dry cleaning. Cleanly evidently arrived at my building before my dry cleaner did, grabbed both bags and brought them to their laundry facility. Cleanly's washing staff took both bags--one containing dry-clean-only wool suits and sweaters; one containing standard washable cotton stuff--dumped both in the washing machine, and both in the dryer. When I opened my bag from Cleany the next day, I was horrified to find my suits and sweater nearly folded and placed in shrink-wrapped plastic. Hoping against hope my clothes might have been spared, I tried on my formerly-favorite suit. I looked like Chris Farley in Tommy Boy; my girlfriend broke out into sympathetic 'funeral laughter.' I reached out to Cleanly about the situation. They dispatched the "Head of Customer Experience" to handle my case. He opened our call by blaming my doorman. He conceded that in a "perfect world" Cleanly wouldn't have washed, dried and folded a bag of wool clothing. (He added that "but for the fact that a bag of dry clean only clothing was washed," Cleanly's employees actually followed the proper protocols.) He said that under Cleanly's policies, the best they could do would be to give me 10x the cost of my dry cleaning, which amounted to ~$350. When I told him that was a fraction of the cost of the ruined clothing, he argued that because (in his mind) Cleanly held no blame, their offer was, in fact, generous. I told the "Customer Experience" Head that my issue (beyond that a substantial portion of my work wardrobe was destroyed) was that Cleanly bills itself as superior to standard dry cleaning options. Its site advertises that it is "dedicated to taking care of . . . laundry and dry-cleaning at every step of the way" and that its employees are "knowledgeable about the way . . . clothes are treated." I said that, whatever their shortfalls, a mom-and-pop dry cleaner would never dump a bag of suits and sweaters into the washing machine and then return them like nothing was amiss. My pitch earned me an additional $100 credit to Cleanly, which I vowed to never use. I also vowed to tell whomever would listen about how frustrating my experience was and to steer clear at all costs. read more

Do not trust this app with your laundry. I used the service because I was in a laundry EMERGENCY and needed the majority of my clothes cleaned. When my scheduled drop-off arrived, I opened it to find that it was someone elses clothing. Distressed, I reached out to cleanly only to have them tell me that "the person whose laundry I had probably has mine too." After a couple of days, they sent me an e-mail stating that they found my laundry with a picture of a THIRD random persons laundry. I'm wondering how many peoples laundry this company loses in a week. Absolutely ridiculous. They sent me two more pictures of lost bags of laundry and one of them was mine. I finally received it after almost two weeks since they originally picked it up. Will NEVER use this service again and highly suggest you don't unless you're willing to risk never seeing it again and are okay with going two weeks without clothes.
