The best tip about this place has nothing to do with laundry: They are a UPS drop off location! Order something online and need to return it, but too lazy to drag it on the T to work, or drive to someplace else? Just bring it here and drop it off! Total time saver. read more

I really, really wanted to like them more. Fact is, I was so super spoiled by my last wash & fold place. The pick up & delivery is very nice, but it's a little misleading-- it's $2 each way, so $4. And there is a minimum on how much you can send for pick up/delivery, and the cost is now $1/lb. Don't get me wrong, having my laundry done is still one of my absolute favorite affordable luxuries. I just... it seemed like there was a ton of lint and hair on my clothes like the lint filter needed emptying. I mean, I know my hair is long and bright red, but it's still usually caught in the trap. It was nice to be able to get 35 pounds of laundry done all at once, but it was a bit confusing as the driver was just helping them out and worked at the restaurant next door, and wasn't certain on any policies. I stopped by and picked up a slip of info and asked questions later on, but I just sort of muddled through the exchange and was a little surprised I'd sent down so much laundry, and then finding out the delivery/pickup charge was per way, etc. I'm very likely to use them again, but I really miss my last wash & fold place near my old apartment. read more

Not the friendliest staff, they seem annoyed if you ask them anything like "how long does the cycle last?", she said she had no idea. My guess is they have the hot water turned off because I ran 3 triple load machines on "hot" but the water was ice cold. If true, it's sleazy. read more

The owner of this laundry is rude and not helpful. UPS delivered a package to this location. I went to pick it up and arrived before the posted closing time to find the owner locking up. I asked if this is where I pick up UPS and he replied, "Yes, tomorrow!" When I arrived the next day well before closing the owner refused to give me the package despite my presenting valid ID according to UPS' requirements. After hours on hold with UPS the following day UPS assured me at 3:30 pm the package would be there and the owner would give it to me. When I arrived a little after 6 pm the owner informs me that he gave the package to the UPS driver. UPS was helpful and apologetic throughout. I would not give the establishment business of any kind and I strongly recommended UPS change it's drop off pick up location. read more

Awful first experience .The woman and man managing were quite rude and unfriendly. #1 I had my clothes in two washrers and found The quarter machine wasn't working so when I politely asked for change, the woman seemed really annoyed and asked me if I wanted the quarters for the washers ( obviously I did) then she refused to give me quarters and instead took my dollar bills and turned the machines on with keys.. #2 the timer was malfunctioning on both dryers I put in 7 quarters and it gave me only 2o mins! When I explained to the man..he pushed a few buttons and walked away! I was floored. When I again asked about the broken dryers he put in ONE quarter which still did not remedy the situation..then he LIED about the amt of quarters I put in ,was very dismissive and walked away. I would absolutely not recommend this place based on my experience of the dry cleaning service. The attitude is not helpful or even polite if something goes wrong. They destroyed my work pants the first time around ($100+ worth) when they didn't follow the label directions which says that you can't hot iron them from the outside, you have to turn them inside out, and large parts of the fabric was damaged by the heat. I was really upset, naturally, and went to complain. Well, Adolfo (the owner) showed up and the first thing he said was that his guys don't press pants unless the customer specifically asks for it. After some back and forth, he admitted that the pants looked like they were pressed and offered to redo them to fix it. We wrote up an agreement that he would reimburse me fully for the pants if the marks still remained. I get a call the next day that they're ready and I go to pick them up ... it was snowing really hard that day ... and I arrive exactly at 8:40PM (hey it's a loong commute from work for me). Boom! The doors are closed and locked. The sign says that they close at 9PM. Great! Walk home in the snow ... Next day I call at 8 to ask when they're going to close and I am told that they are closing NOW because of some issues with a driver. Needless to say, I'm not too thrilled with the ordeal of picking up my dry cleaning or the professionalism of closing early two days in a row. That weekend, I finally get the cleaning. The first thing I do is inspect thoroughly. Well, the marks were still there (but fainter and gone in some areas) BUT NOW the fabric colors were bleeding. Anyways, Adolfo insisted that I brought them in like that (with the bleeding colors) and only responded "ok" as I pointed out the individual marks that were still there. I admit that I let my frustration show with the guy but, really, he always had a good excuse (that blamed me) for everything. He also flat out lied the first time when he said that his guys don't press pants automatically. Okay, where did they get all those press marks then? Also, the original agreement was if any marks remained ... which some still did. So the guy is deceitful. Most importantly to me, however, he never once offered me an apology for his company's mistake. He acted as if redoing them was a favor to me, not the inconvenience that it was. It was a trial to even get him to admit that he did anything wrong. When I told him that I wanted a refund for the dry cleaning, he said he was "done with me" since I was frustrating customer and a problem that he wanted to go away. Never mind that I paid for a service and he never provided me, my pants are definitely a lot worse off, AND he wasted so much of my time. So, in conclusion, take your chances when you use this place. To be fair, however, they do have quick turnaround and I have never had a problem before (probably used this place 5 times before) but, then again, dry cleaning clothes usually aren't cheap. Lastly, for those people praising the laundry service, I saw a mouse run into the middle of the office as Adolfo and I were hashing it out. It ran somewhere amongst those clean laundry bags that you guys pick up. Yay vermin in a laundromat! read more

A few months ago I was incredibly busy before a work trip and couldn't find the time to go to the bank, get 4 zillion quarters and sit in my apartment to do all the laundry I needed to do. I heard about Clean Getaway down the street and said, "Well, I'll treat myself to drop-off service just this one time..." I think I've only done laundry in my apartment once since then. Clean getaway is great. It's clean, everything works, the staff are SO friendly, and the spinach pies at the Robinwood Diner next door are amazing. (My fella and I even bring a game and play at the diner while our laundry is going sometimes!) I love this place SO much except for one thing: the televisions. I don't watch television and I feel so overwhelmed by the commercials and the messages on the day-time programs. The talk shows and "Judge" shows... it's so depressing. I would ordinarily sit and read right there while my laundry is washing and drying, but it's too much for me. I try to turn it down when I'm the only person there, but that's not very often. read more

They are so professional and friendly! I use their wash-dry-fold service. My clothes smell so fresh and I get it back the same day! Just a short walking distance from my house. There is a bus stop right on front of the place (#39) just in case your bag is too heavy to carry. read more

A friend recommended this laundry service to us, touting no minimum, free pickup/drop off, $0.90/lb. We used them once before, was told 10 lb minimum instead, which is fine. This time, I was charged 20lb flat fee for a laundry load of 13 lb. No mentioning of any minimum whatsoever during my conversation with the . When I called after to discuss the over charge, the owner stated "we can only do 20lb for pickup at your location". So now 10lb minimum becomes 20lb minimum without even alerting the customer. Even worse, one of my husband's tie accidentally got mixed in with the laundry load among his dress shirts. Clearly, since they are the dry cleaner, they should know not to put silk tie (or really any tie) in machine wash. It's completely ruined- torn at one edge, stitches frayed. The right thing to do would have been to not wash the tie and just notify me instead of ruining a designer tie. In the end, poor communication with customer, changing minimum without notification, failure to do proper sorting (rookie mistake). Not worth the money, time, or frustration. Now I owe hubby a new tie. read more

I can't give this place any more than one star. It was clean enough and the people who worked there seemed pleasant enough so that counts as one star. I brought all my bedding in to wash. The dryers seemed to take longer than the ones at the place I usually go to. They could use some updating I think. My main gripe is that I can't use any kind of scented products on my laundry. When I got home with all my laundry my husband immediately asked me if I had gone somewhere out to eat. EVERYTHING, including me, reeked of fried food. Have you ever worked at a restaurant and had that gross fried food smell stuck to your clothes when you get home. ick! It must have been from the Robinwood Cafe next door. I noticed a restaurant smell but didn't realize we were all stewing in it. The smell was really bad on my blankets and sheets and everything I had just washed. Maybe people who use scented detergents don't notice it or something. Not sure how they could stay in business otherwise unless fried chicken scent is a new thing. If you want all your clothes to have that just off the frialator fresh scent bring them to Clean Getaway Laundry!!! read more

This is a no-frills, friendly and efficient laundromat. When I went to drop off my clothes, the person at the counter was warm and welcoming and seemed genuinely happy for my business. My clothes were ready in a couple of hours and everything was as expected. Even though the place is a bit of a hike from where I live, I plan on going back again. read more

I have used this laundromat many many times.I've always thought the woman there were went above and beyond to make me happy.our laundry always smelled fresh and clean .they have rehashed laundry for free if that load didn't smell fresh.so imagine my surprise when usually I drop off and pay them per pound to wash it.I am a homemaker do doing laundry doesn't bother me I am disabled on a fixed income so cannot always afford to have them wash it.yesterday I came in around 1:00 I used a large machine 5$ and a small machine 3$ the smaller machine had bright colors hot pink purples and the large machine had black clothes only!! WHEN I RETURNED MY CLOTHES THAT WERE IN COLD WATER BLACK OR GREY HAD BLEACH ALL OVER THEM !! I DIDN'T EVEN BRING BLEACH. AND I'D NEVER RUIN MY OWN CLOTHES I HAVE ONE PARTICULAR SHIRT THAT COST ME$ 80.00 it had been bleached so badly that you can now see right through it!!! Also three other brand new shirts I just bought had splashes of bleach.!!! My hot pink Victoria secrets bag I just purchased the day before it's now a dull pink with brown and black stains. They were never overloaded !!!Also a tie die whit with bright blue stripes is now faded again you can see right through these shirts the bleach ate away at the fabric and another Victoria secrets tank top. Had what looked like lipstick smudged on it.I've had only one other issue MY first time paying them to wash my clothing I got Sox and underwear that did NOT BELONG TO ME???again I cannot understand they've been so kind and I've even gotten friendly with one of the ladies marciela I always try to tip extra .she never wants to take it but since she's always been so nice I insisted but now I have a pair of jeans cut with scissors in the knee.I again am puzzled???I've also had clothes missing when my boyfriend usually pays them to wash the laundry I didn't get back what I gave to wash. Due to my disability I have O.C.D Which unfortunately doesn't allow me to forget what I own or every little detail the normal person would forget.I know that yesterday I ran out crying.I bagged my things soaking wet!!I on disability I cannot afford to replace these items .I understand Spanish more so than I speak so it hurt me very deeply that Sox underwear bras missing in past even grey sweats,from Vic secrets that I played 44.00 a pair for are cut ripped stained .I don't know why someone would do such such a thing?
