I told them to cancel the order. About 30 minutes later I got another call asking if I could pick up the order later in the day I explained that I could not because we were from out of town and were just going to pick up the subs on our way and asked again that the order be canceled. I was told I needed to come in for a cash refund. I told them that was impossible because I was on my way to Columbus over two hours away. I was told she would call me back. I finally got a call back and was again told to come in for cash or I could get the order the next day. I again said they needed to just cancel the order. She called back a third time saying she found out how to cancel. I originally placed my order through incentivio I stayed on the line as she "canceled" my order. This required my credit card number etc. She said she sent me a receipt. When I stopped I found she had actually placed a new order through the Toast Local app. Order #27. I called on Monday 9/8 to explain the error (somehow the incentivio order did canceled in all this) and asked for the Toast charge to be reversed. I was told it already was and that it would take 3 days. The manager wouldn't listen when I said that it was a new charge on a different app. I called back on Friday when the charges were not reversed. I was again told there was nothing they could do and asked to come get cash. We repeated the I live out of town conversation. I was asked if I had Zelle. I told him no but I had Venmo & PayPal. He said they only had Zelle, but he was in talks with the owner & they would find a solution and would call me back the next day. There was no call the next day. I called back today. He told me they were "waiting for an answer." I asked for the email of the person who was "figuring out" the refund. I was to hear back in one hour. Well of course I have not heard back. So a week later I am still out almost $40 and there is no resolution in sight

I…read morespecifically ordered gluten-free because I need to avoid gluten for medical reasons, yet basic cross-contact precautions were not followed. The slicer and preparation counter were visibly dirty and had not been properly cleaned before my gluten-free sandwich was prepared. When you offer gluten-free options and serve customers who may have celiac disease or other medical reasons for avoiding gluten, simply using gluten-free bread is not enough. The equipment and preparation area also need to be handled appropriately to minimize cross-contact. I understand that a restaurant cannot guarantee a completely gluten-free environment, but using a visibly dirty slicer and counter for a gluten-free order is an avoidable sanitation and cross-contact issue. Jersey Mike's has a reputation for taking gluten-free orders seriously, which is one of the reasons customers with dietary restrictions choose to eat there. Why ask if it's an allergy or preference if you aren't going to even change your gloves???? I hope management addresses this with the staff and reinforces proper cleaning and gluten-free preparation procedures. Customers should be able to expect basic precautions when they specifically tell employees that an order needs to be gluten-free.
